He has some form of feline ADHD, it is so hard to find him still for more than a second. This is why I don't have any pics of him up; he simply won't hold still for one (that or my camera is MIA, like now for example). Other than his constant purring, he is a very, very quiet cat. He almost never meows and if he does, it is the tiniest little squeak of a meow ever. He also doesn't seem to be interested in toys other than the laser pointer I got for him. Omg he loves that stupid little laser, he won't stop chasing it until he is panting like a dog.

Anyways, enough about that girl I am gonna talk about the kitten . He is 4 months old, completely black, and has green eyes. When I walked in the room he immediately walked up to me and started to headbutt me, purring like a motor the whole time. He is really snugly and loves to be petted - exactly what I wanted in a cat. I would post the pic I took of him on my phone while I was in the shelter, but my phone froze immediately after I took the picture >>. Maybe black cats really are bad luck...

Baw but he is too cute to be unlucky (((.

Anyways, as many of you may know, I am now back in Miami for college and so far things are going really well. This year I have my own condo and I am LOVING IT. Its so much better that living with my retarded ex-roomate: no more sleepless nights because she was doing laundry at 3am, no more bitching at me everytime I used the kitchen, no more washing the walls, no more hearing about how my classes are stupid, no more criticizing my major, NO MORE ANYTHING MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..!

And on another high point, last night I found a way to legitimately never play WoW ever again. The idea was that I would create a random sequence of letters and numbers (in other words, something that I could never remember), make it my password, and finally destroy the random sequence once I finished. So guess what? That's exactly what I just finished doing. I also took the game off my computer, just in case I decided to do a password retrieval or something >>.

Anyways, I feel proud. Maybe I will get back into cosplay, but since I never really finish anything I guess this is no cause for celebration lol.

There is a Bikram Yoga studio right on the way to school however, perhaps I will get back into that so I can get in shape for cosplay

School
Glad to be finished with my 5th year in college and nowhere near graduating! I like my new school (University of Miami) a lot, although I must say that I get sick of the weather. You would be surprised at how boring never-ending sun can be; it makes me appreciate thunderstorms. I have no idea what my grades are, and I probably never will (I have a phobia of looking at my grades D= ). However I still think I did well, at least in bio, bio lab, and English.

Cosplay
Finally I am getting back into cosplay! I had some... roommate issues... which prevented me from working this year. But now I am free from the clutches of her OCD and can make props to my hearts content . I'm currently working on my Oblivion Keyblade (for Final Form Sora of course). Once I finish that its on to Oathkeeper (I am remaking it in wood), Twilight Princess Hylian shield (remaking it in wood, once again), and Ordon or Twilight Princess Master Sword. I'm pretty confident that I will actually finish this Oblivion keyblade, so once I finish with the details on one side I will post a WIP pic.

Conventions
Otakon and Wizard World Chicago are the only conventions I am planning on going to so far this summer. If anyone knows a great way to carry a Sora wig on a train without flattening all of the spikes, please tell me . I am going to wear Final Form Sora to Otakon, and I have NO idea how I am gonna get my wig there. I might just have to style it the night before in the hotel room, but obviously I don't want to do that .

Miscellaneous
My body hurts everywhere T^T. My mom is sick of me complaining about being fat, so she decided that I am going to do boot camp training with her, and I am in so much pain because of it. Yesterday I was so sore that I couldn't move to get out of bed.

Sigh, at least I won't be a fat Sora.

Anyways. My wood experiment didn't go so well, so I am back to using insulation foam for the time being. I am going to try and get Final Form Sora done for Otakon, but I am going to have to work very hard to get everything done ><. Once I am done studying for my FIVE FINALS THAT I HAVE THIS SEMESTER (shoot me now pls) I can start working on Sora again. I have two months to make it, but since I am pretty much starting from scratch I am going to be rushed to finish.

I had to pitch my oathkeeper and oblivion keyblades because they are too thin for insulation foam (they bend a lot). I am going to make them out of wood eventually, but that will have to wait until I move. For those of you that don't know, I am going to have a cosplay workshop in my new condo, so I will be doing a lot more props! I don't know if you are excited, but I am hehe. So yeah, after I move I am going to make them out of wood. For now I am sticking with bulkier keyblades that have a solid center so that I can keep them straight with a metal rod.

Anyway, I should be home by May 15th or so. I EXPECT (not hope) to see many of you over the summer, so we must plan some get togethers

Anyways, I finally broke down and got myself some wood for my keyblades... wood, a sawhorse, a jigsaw, and two clamps to be exact. I almost tried to make them out of cardboard (like featherweight's stuff) but I just settled on wood in the end. I figured it would be similar to working with insulation foam, only I won't have to worry about the details disappearing once I fiberglass it (since I won't really need to fiberglass it anyways ).

I really hope this experiment goes well - really really hope. Things will be a lot cheaper if they do since it is only $5 for a piece of wood instead of... *does the math* ... oh say $50 if I were to fiberglass it.

I do have an issue with paint though, since I have no idea if you can apply auto paint directly to wood. I think I will just wind up covering it all in a thin layer of bondo or resin... or something lol

Sigh, I never seem to use my first attempt on any prop, now do I? Well, my mom won't ship me my handle, so I don't have much of a choice.

*sigh*

I actually might have to make the keyblades (I'm making both Oathkeeper and Oblivion btw, since this is for Final Form Sora - a dual wielding form) out of an entirely different material than I am used to - aka foam. Apparently Floridians don't believe in insulation foam, and consequentially don't sell it in any of their hardware stores (I've checked 4 different stores from three different chains and none of them have it). My mom offered to send me insulation foam from Chicago, but shipping 4ft long sheets of insulation foam from Chicago to Miami doesn't seem very practical.

So I need to improvise.

I think I am going to cut the basic shapes out of cardboard, fiberglass them, and bondo on all the details. This way I can paint it right after I am done carving and they will be very sturdy. I am aware of the weight of bondo, so to counteract this I am going to make them as thin as I can - so long as I can get the amount of detail that I want.

I just hope they aren't too heavy D=. If this doesn't work I might try wood, but I don't want to invest the money it takes to start working with it =/

But... it's so heavy that I think its weight alone would cause it to break off from its handle (especially since I can't drill into it), and I don't want it to be destroyed during a convention... how embarrassing ><

So this is what I was thinking...

I am going to finish sculpting it in bondo (the main reason why it is so heavy) and then I am going to silicon mold it. Once I finish making the mold, I am going to fill it with "TAP X-30 Polyurethane Foam" (link: [link] ). I saw a demonstration of it a few years ago, and this stuff expands to fit any shape, is extremely light, and it's practically indestructible. In addition to that, it is unaffected by polyester or epoxy resin, so you can apply fiberglass to it directly. The only problems I see with it are that it is extremely sticky and practically impossible to shape once it is hardened. So I figure I should be ok if I am very through as I cover my mold in vaseline.

Anyway, just wondering if you guys think it is a good idea. If you have used X-30 before, it would be nice if you could share your experience with me hehe .

Omg these things actually make drawing fun lol, so much fun that at the moment, I would rather draw than play WoW. Crazy right?. I got one of those super nice wacom intuos3's and I am SO GLAD that I did.
