Life at the Moment

December was a terrible month. 'Nuff said.

Here's to hoping that the new year will be better though! A note about commissions and art coming from me, I have broken my tablet pen So if I do put anything up on DA, there's certainly not going to be a great deal of color here, and I'm gonna close my commissions.

Seriously sucks because I had all these cool pictures in mind or already drawn that I can't finish now.

I did get to see ~kailana-sama and her family though, and had a great time with her. We went and saw Avatar, which is a damn pretty movie. Seriously, the visuals in that were mind blowing. I would highly recommend it. As a side note, I also want a whirly gecko xD

Finally getting around to doing this.

Make a list and share it herein the forum! See if there's anyone you can help during the holidays too!

=Wishlist forum=

THE BASICS:

Write a Christmas/Holiday wish list. It can be any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted, no matter what they are. Possible or seemingly impossible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "OMFG PRESENTS", it's about making someone else's holiday a little brighter by giving. Personally, I get more out of giving than receiving sometimes. It's just a good feeling to give.

STEP ONE

** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. In this case, you can always just note someone on dA.
** Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!

STEP TWO

** Surf around your friend list to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

NOW LET'S SEE IT!

1. I'd like a bike now that my car's engine is shot. I don't have to go far to school or work so a bike would be great. Any recommendations for bikes that won't totally break my wallet would be appreciated xD

2. If you could, send some business over to ~kailana-sama I know money's tight for the holidays, but she's doing all kinds of commissions and she's AWESOME. Seriously. _{Do it}

3. I want to read some really good comics. Webcomics, comic books, graphic novels, anything that falls under that general category of comic-y goodness. I need something to take up my time until Locke and Key: Crown of Shadows comes out.

4. Fanart's always good to get. I know we haven't seen much of Siv lately (hopefully that will change) but Molly and Oliver are popping up more and since they're ~XxSlyCatxX's characters too, I'm sure he'd appreciate it too.

5. I'd actually like to back up to the mountains again. I used to snowboard at least once a year and I miss the snow :C On kind of the same note, I WANT IT TO FRIGGIN RAIN AROUND HERE SO BADLY.

6. More comments on deviations would be pretty cool. Whenever I submit something I tend to get a lot of +fav's but not really a lot of comments. If you like my art, I'd really like to hear what you like ABOUT it. People's opinions are great to hear

7. A WAISTCOAT. I would have one, but apparently the shipping route passed through hurricane area a few years ago and I lost it D: it was dark blue and pinstriped.. It was so COOL. Man, I want one. If for nothing else than to say I have one.

8. Some people to play WoW with. I play with my brother a lot, but it's just me and him. If you're Alliance and you're on the Icecrown server, send me a message. My character's name is Ildruk. I'm a Death Knight

9. I want to be able to think about things and situations more positively. I came to an understanding not too long ago on how to do it. I want to be able to follow through.

10. Last but certainly not least, I want to see ~kailana-sama again. It's the holidays and her and her...

EDIT: I've officially bought her plane ticket and will be seeing her this weekend! Thank you SO MUCH to the people who commissioned me, really, I can't thank you enough. ALSO I realized that making these commissions in black and white seemed ridiculous because I'm taking time to pick a shade of gray when it could easily be a color. So for the commissioners that are on the little list (the one at the bottom of this) are going to be colored! AND I'M JUST GONNA DO $10 COLOR COMMISSIONS NOW AND I'M NOT CLOSING THEM. I think I'll just stay open unless I say otherwise, so if you've ever wanted to commission me then don't sweat it, just send me a note for a commission anytime ;D To the commissions I've been given already, I'm just about finished and you should be getting your pictures in your e-mails in the next couple days

My birthday is going to be in a couple weeks and I'll be turning 21 (woo?) Anyways, the one thing that I want more than anything is to be able to celebrate it with but there's a bit of a problem; there's about 1300 miles between us and funds are on the iffy side.

So here we go.

EDIT: I think I got it sorted out. Part of what confused me was looking at my work on DA and then looking on my computer. Found out that Firefox doesn't use color profiles, so it all looks different from what I have xD So no more worries I guess

Hi everyone, I seem to have royally fucked up my monitor trying to calibrate it and all of my colors have been thrown out of whack. Anybody know how to fix it back to defaults or know any websites to look over that can tell me how to fix this? I promise I'll have art to show once this gets sorted out xD

I'm going to go ahead and take some time off from commissions, with the exception of the ones I currently have on my list and a long term project that I've set up with ~The-Lazy-Shadow. I'm going to move my butt to get those cranked out soon. Business has been slow anyways, and I feel like I need some time to work on more personal projects. This also means I may not be around here a great deal, but we'll see.

I have several ideas I want to get done, and me and *XxSlyCatxX have been working on our project and may have stuff from that to post too (I know, I've been saying that for months) Gonna go hurry and finish these commissions so I can get to work on my stuff! Here's to hoping I have some new awesome art to show off

I just finished sorting things out with my insurance company, and we both concluded that my city's an idiot.

The bill was a confusion, they sent it to me to send it to my insurance company because they apparently didn't know where to mail it (even though they had all the information) They also probably thought it would be funny to give me a heart attack in the process.

Thank you though to everyone who responded and wanted to donate, and the people who sent me notes. To those that have sent me notes, I'll still do some pictures for you if you still feel like donating <<; I'm sorry I've kinda flip flopped this morning, but I'm just glad this got sorted out, and I'm glad that I have such awesome people watching me.

Kind of just sitting in a middle ground right now, it's been getting hard for me to stay focused and terribly creative lately, but I also recently found that there's about 6 semesters or so of college that I've taken that don't count. The reason? The school I want to go to doesn't accept most of the units I've taken as transferable. So that sucks.

I've been slowly working through the commissions I've gotten (just finished a batch ) and I'd like to say that I'm still doing them if anyone is interested, all the info is here: [link] Otherwise, I'm just waiting for something to come around, hopefully I'll get to hear back from the school. I recently finished and turned in my application to it, so here's to hoping!

EDIT: I got a hold of the administration and I have been accepted, their records just hadn't updated and the mail is really slow. Yay!

I'm going to be opening commissions full time now! There's not slots, so I'll be taking commissions whenever anyone's interested, I've stolen my commission setup from *kailana-sama (she's so much more organized than I am) and I'm going to have much more time on my hands!

Color - $6

Portrait (shoulders-up)

Half Body (waist-up)

Of course all of those examples are color, but you get the idea.

FOR MULTIPLE CHARACTERS:
You take the price of your commission and divide that in half. You then add that to the original price, and you'll have your total. Each extra character is the same price.

EXAMPLE: Full Body Color is $20. If you want another character, then take 20 and cut that in half. Add $20 to $10, the total will be $30. If you wanted a third person, that would be $40, etc.

PAYMENT:
I accept Paypal, Cash and Check (gonna give those a shot). Once you've contacted me about a commission, let me know how you'd like to pay, and I'll give you all of the information you need.

If you'd like to, we can set up payment in parts, but I won't start work until I've gotten at least half of the payment.

To a New Semester!

So I just started the new semester this last week, and happy to say that I think I'm going to enjoy all of my classes this year. Italian, Design, Computer basics (easy, but required), and a Philosophy course. But MAN these are expensive.. Design mostly. Spent $60 on two brushes and two tubes of paint! Now I know why my art's all colored on the computer xD Also came off of a wonderful Valentine's weekend with *kailana-sama.. wish I didn't have to come back. Life? NO I DON'T WANT TO PLZ.

Also, for a while me and my good friend ~XxSlyCatxX have been working on a huge personal project, and I think we're getting to a point where I can start putting up the work from that.. but for now I'll keep it a secret. Except for those rare few that DO know what it is, let's not spoil the surprise ;D but it should be soon..

So things are a bit rough here at home. Troubles with jobs, parentals, and a few new sleeping arrangements all going on. But on the bright side, my younger brother's back from his 3 month trip through Marine boot camp! It's good to have him around though, the little bastard got me back into playing WoW. I was doing so well too, almost a year of inactivity! But I did mention jobs, which mine has cut my hours and I need a bit of extra to pick up the slack.. so please, if any of you would be so kind, I'm still up for commissions and that should get me out of this funk I've been in.

I'm starting up commissions. I've been thinking about this for a pretty long time now and I think I've come up with some fair prices. I'll have to see how this works out for me.

I'll take up to 4 commissions at a time. Send me a note with "Commission" in the title with the specifics and I'll add you to the list. I'll post another journal so you know when I've got all the slots filled. If I have them filled when your note got sent, I'll ask if you'd like to reserve a spot in my next set if you're still interested (assuming I fill this one) So yeah, on to the commission info!

BASICS:
I'm not doin' porn (pin-ups are okay)
Anthro characters are fine with me
If your commission is of an original character, please have a reference sheet or something visual that I can use
I will do fanart
I'll keep you updated regularly as I progress, so that changes can be made to your liking

PRICES:

Sketch Lineart-- $10
I can do these either digitally or traditionally, it's your choice. This can include a full size shot, bust, whatever you'd like.

Inked Lineart-- $15
Just like the sketch, but MUCH cleaner and generally better looking. I can do both digital OR traditional, but generally the digital inking takes me longer (but does look nicer).

Digital coloring-- $25
Sorry, I'm not terribly talented with traditional media...So digital is really all I have to offer. If you take a look through my gallery, then you'll get a good look at what I'm able to do.

So, simple enough, right?

Hopefully some of you are interested, and since these are going to be my first commissions, please be patient with me as I get the ball rolling. We can talk out particulars when you note me. When I'm finished, I will let you know and will e-mail you both the finished file and the original photoshop file.

I've finally gotten out of that slump and am on a roll with drawing time and ideas. I'll be putting up more info about Sivraxt and it'll be awesome. You'll see.

Well everyone, I'm sure you've figured by now that I'm DONE moving! Thankfully, my family's good at that sort of thing and got all set up in virtually a week. So onto the real subject: Commissions. The idea's been thrown at me a couple of times that I should do commissions, or at least try it out.

The thing is though, I really have no idea how to get that all started.

So. . . are there any of you well educated people that I could bother for a sec so you can explain a way to get this demented little puppy rollin'?

Also, I have tests. TWO VERY IMPORTANT ONES to prepare for . For those couple of you that I've promised a picture to, I'm sorry it's going to take me a little longer than I originally thought for me to get it finished. . .

I also plan on sitting my lazy ass down and pumpin' out those last Guitar Heroes! GH3 is already out and I really thought I could get them done before that, but I'm made of FAIL right now, so please bear with me. Quite a few are asking for 'im, so Johnny's gonna start the chain!

Another thing, I see that I've still got quite a ways to go, but if anyone catches my 10,000th view and sends me proof, I will reward your efforts with A FREE PICTURE! ZOMG! Hopefully within reason, please. I don't wanna draw anything that'll make me uncomfortable -_-

Going Away for a Bit

So, I'm going to be moving soon (by the end of this weekend) and as such, I'm not going to have any internet access for about a week and a half or so afterwards as things start getting settled. So this is my first journal entry. Well, this is where it's all going to be. I'm starting my first series of drawings with, you guessed it: Guitar Hero. I've really enjoyed the game the entire time I've had it and I'm a little disappointed that there isn't hardly any fanart for the game despite it being INCREDIBLY AWESOME.

So yeah I'm going to be doing every character, whether I like them or not, eventually ending with one HUGE wallpaper-sized picture with all of them just for all you other guitar heroes out there
