So... What's New

Sorry for the journal spam! I just needed some for information. ^^

Okay, so here's what's going on. I had recently added Art Trades, Collaborations, Commissions, and Kiribans. (I need a good #. Suggestions?)
Eventually I will start adding contests. I already have the section set up for it.

Why did I do this? Because I really need to start doing more... I've been in quite a funk lately and I need to snap out of it. Besides, there's nothing to do here.

I've changed the look of my journal. (As you all can tell I'm sure.)
I'm pretty happy with it, hope it works. If anything is off, please tell me.

Thanks to everyone who has commented and/or has added my work to their favorites. I hadn't responded to anything for so long, and I apologize. I appreciate all of your support.
I am currently looking through the massive amount of deviations, so no one was left out!

Okay, for my part, I will be giving fully colored character art.
- The winner can choose One of their own OCs or something of the such that they'd like.
- I will note the winner after the contest.
- Just ONE character will be depicted as it does take a while to do. Though I may make exceptions for certain things.
- I will not do fanart of pre-existing movies, games, or animations. (Sorry, Just OCs or fantasy art. Ask If you'd like anything different.)
- The background may or may not be colored (depending on what I draw) as the emphasis will be on the figure.
- If I think of anything else, I will post it here.

Here is where you may obtain information if you would like to do an art trade or collaborate with me on a piece. Quite honestly, it would depend on how I'm feeling either way.

Trades


• You must note me if you'd like to trade art.
  
  
• There is more information below, but feel free to ask if you'd like something else. Or if you have any questions pertaining to something that isn't already addressed.
  I'm fairly open to suggestions.
  
  
• I will not trade art for lesser quality or lesser work.
  Ex: No colored work in trade for lineart. No detailed work in trade for quickies. Basically, I'd like even trades.
  
  
• Generally, I will only trade art in the same medium. Just request a medium and I will accept if it is a medium I am fine with working with. (Digital coloring (photoshop and flash/ pen/ pencil/ Art Markers) If you prefer one medium and would like to trade for a different medium, just note me and we may be able to work something out.
  
  
• Once we've both accepted to trade, we will find a timeframe to complete the work in. That way we don't fall behind/ forget/ work on it forever/ etc. The time frame will be something we are both okay with. This is only because I'd like to keep a good schedule for myself.
  
  
• WIP. I ask that we show each other our WIPs at least twice before the completed work. That way we both can see what's going on. Also, I request that we keep in contact through the note system. This is for your benefit and mine.
  This is not because I have anything against anyone. For the most part, I am sure my fellow artists are good sports. I have had theft of my art occur, and I am still a bit wary. Though, I highly doubt it'll occur through trades, this is a good way for the both of us to know what's going on through the process.
  
  
• We can cover anything else through notes. Also, feel free to ask me any questions you have. As stated, I am open to suggestions.
  
  
• I will not trade 3d models at this time. Why? I am currently working on a 3d project and time spent on 3d modeling will be utilized for that.
  
  Please, do not request an art trade unless you are certain you want one. I do not want to put a lot of work into something, only to find it was for nothing. That is not fair to me or my time. Just as it would not be fair to you or your time If I'd done the same.

• Much of the same as trades apply to this. I am open to any questions or suggestions you may have, just note me.
  
  *Note: If you would just like me to color one of your linearts, or you'd like to color one of mine, just note me. This is still collaboration, but under different guidelines. The below doesn't specifically apply for this. (Other than note communication and written permissions.) We can discuss this over notes though.
  My art is not free to color. You must obtain written permission. Unless it is stated in the image that you may ask to color, permission likely will not be given.
  
  
  
• Collaborations are only open to those I am familiar with.
  - Those I've had conversations with.
  - People on my friends list.
  - People I watch.
  - People who watch me. (Whom I've chatted with.)
  - Friends, etc
  Sorry, If I don't know you, I likely won't collaborate with you. This is because it's a "team" effort and I'd like to have a good sense of whom I'm working with. But hey, feel free to note me. (I may be a bit intimidating, but as long as you don't tick me off, I'm alright.)
  
  
• We will need to choose a general timeline so that we aren't working forever. This will also need to include how long before we send files to each other. It'll likely be estimated and not specific.



• We will communicate progress through notes. That way we both have a record. Transfer of files likely through e-mail though.
  
  
• Before starting, as with anyone, we will need to decide what we will be working on, who starts it off, the mood to the image, etc. All the basics.

Commission Information:


• I will only have a waiting list of 3 people for now. This is not including the current commissioned piece I am working on.
  
  
• Communication will be handles through notes and through and through e-mails with proper cc. That way we both have a copy of the process for future reference. I will not accept consultation through any other means. This is because I want adequate proof of the process.
  
  
• I will do fantasy art and any OCs. Specifics need to be given through notes. This includes use. (Cd covers, book covers, wallpaper, illustration, etc) Basically I just need to know if you need it a specific size. Otherwise I will do it however seems fine.
  
  
• I will not do pre-existing characters (from comics/ movies/ novels/ games/ etc) that you, as the customer, do not personally own.
  
  
• Depending on what you want from me, I will need a reference image or a detailed description.
  
  
• Art will be drawn in pencil or pen. (If pencil, it will be inked.)
  Colored versions will be scanned, and colored digitally (photoshop).
  Sometimes I will have commissions with other medium open: Charcoal, marker, colored pencil, Paint [gouache, acrylic, or watercolor]
  
  
• Time for completing the work depends on what you want done and it's complexity.
  Allotted time frame can be anywhere from 1 day - 3 months. This all depends on our communication and it often finished sooner rather than later.

• I will consult with you over a variety of sketches so that we may determine what you want.
  - The sketches will remain my property completely and are not given as part of the commission. They are not free for use, nor are they to be given to other artists for derivative works without my written consent. Once we've decided on a sketch for the piece, 1/2 payment must be given for further progress.
  
  
• Once I show you the completed drawing, you are permitted to request changes as you see fit until satisfied.
  Pieces not chosen will remain my property completely. (I will not retain any ownership or rights to your characters and will therefore not make any profit off of the piece.) However, without written consent and license, you will not make any profits off of any work other than the completed work, and such pieces will remain under my ownership.
  
  
• Once we have agreed on the finished drawing to be colored, and I have begun the coloring process, I will not accept any major changes to the drawing. No changes to the drawing will be accepted after first two colored WIPs are shown.
  
  
• As the coloring progress is made, I will accept requests to color and texture changes as long as they are within reason. These must be requested as you are provided with work in progress images. Large changes will not be accepted after the wip for that section is shown. (That is like asking me to recolor it.)
  - Small changes will be accepted. As well as those between the last given wip and provided piece.
  
  
• Once we are happy with a completed version. That will be the piece you are given. The watermark over the piece will be removed upon final payment, and you will be provided with the full resolution file, as well as use license. (Layers will have been merged into one. File will be in .psd, .png, .jpeg, or whatever file you request that I am able to provide.
  This file will be sent through e-mail or other file sharing means depending on the size.

• A © watermark will be present until final piece is presented, after payment. My signature will remain on it as that will have been done during drawing process.
  
  
• We will consult about how you plan to use the piece before the process begins.
  Once we do this, you may opt to sign a license to use the piece once I upload it to deviant art.

  Okay, so here's what's going on. I'll be changing the layout of my journal when I finish my next picture and upload it. I've already finished the css for it, I just need to make an image for it that I'm satisfied with. I don't know how long that'll take.
  I do have a few pictures aside from that which I've been meaning to upload as well. We'll see when I get to it.

  Oh dear, so much for looking for things to do. At one moment I'm bored.. then I get swamped with homework. I suppose it's no big deal, though I have to do double time on my homework now.
  
  I think I need a break from school, I'm getting tired of it.
  When I have time I will try to make/post up more art. I also have to respond to quite a few things. Don't worry, I will get to that soon.
  
  I suppose since its drawing closer to the end of the semester it's obvious I'd have more work. One thing though, I will definitely do a lot this summer. I should be more free than I am now at any rate.

  Still busy with school, but I am getting into more stuff again. Which is good. I guess.
  Anyways, I believe I will make a new journal layout. I'm bored with this one. I'll be able to make the featured section larger and maybe even be able to hold a contest or so.   Okie dokie, So I've been pretty busy with school again. I'm working on a 3d animation, several drawing assignments (perspective, and anatomy to say the least), I just made a pixel Master Chief for my gaming class. I'll have to start on devising a game level eventually, and likely a character for it.
  
  Anyways, I've decided to make a section into features, since DA changed their page layout to be more... customizable. I wont post a million features, but there will be some and I will update it every so often. I guess I should start picking things out or something.
  
  I checked all the deviations (well most) and notes, I feel so accomplished today. Ima try to be more active again. My slumber is hopefully over for a while. (Unless the carnivorous muffins get me.) I featured a couple people. Check it out! I'll swap around as I feel up to it.

  Okay! My semester is over and I'm home! I said goodbye to a bunch of people and I think I'll miss wandering around San Francisco. The trip home was bad, I hadn't slept in 2 days, and one of my flights were delayed. But oh well.
  
  I'll be doing online classes next semester. This means I should have time to start posting more things again! I've been wanting to, but I have hardly even had time to log on.
  I can continue crocheting my plushies, and making jewelery. So happy! ^.^
  And of course making my games. I need to make more music too. ^.^

  So, I'm home for Thanksgiving break. I think it's nice to be home. I do feel a bit empty without my little dog running around and hanging out with me. But at least I have good memories of him.
  
  I've been working intensely on homework since before I came here. I did take a small break, but I need to get right back to it.
  
  I don't think I'll be going to San Francisco next semester. I think I will just stay home and finish my classes online. The online program at AAU is pretty awesome. Plus, I can save money for other things if I do.
  
  Anyways, I'm trying to do ok, so we'll see how things progress. Otters.

  I managed to fall behind very well on DeviantArt. Sorry everyone...
  I've got over 100 deviations to view, I may end up deleting most. I also have 47 unanswered messages.(and that's after replying to most...) All of those will be answered. Again, sorry.
  
  One good thing, I'm in San Francisco now. I suppose it's also a bad thing, I miss everyone.
  I wasn't able to go to that golden gate party thing, I had class... so sad. Oh well, maybe I'll be able to go to Target next time at least. (I doubt it.)
  I did manage to go on that Zoo trip. It was pleasant, I had a good time. Some of the exhibits were closed though. It was generally fun though. Except, on the way back, they made me run to catch the cable car and my knee popped odd. Owwie.

  I'd meant to post an image today for DA's B-Day, but that'll have to be posted when it's done. I've also got two other images I want to post. I really want to see if I can color 'em first, we'll wait on that since they are large and I do not have a large format scanner.
  I would love one though.
  I have a lot to get done for school tomorrow. No school work, It starts in September, but I need to prepare.
  
  Also, I've got a bunch of deviations piled up that I need to look at, so no worries if I haven't commented yet. I need to watch more people too, but I need to clean some stuff up first. (I feel a bit backed up.)
  
  Also, I've been wondering if I should do art trades. Currently that's something I do on Gaia every so often, along with free art. I want to make a picture for the seasons too. I have a lot to draw, but hopefully I can get something for summer before it's over. ^_^ Maybe for August, that's my month. whoo!

  Whoo! I finally got over this gnarly artists block I had. I will be uploading more now. I am also in the process of working on an Elf/Gypsy piece for someone. I'll upload that when it's done too. Hopefully it turns out good.
  
  I'm going to be going to San Francisco in about a month. That's going to be something intense... well the packing anyways. I like San Francisco, thought it's quite cold, especially for this desert child. Last time I went it was all cloudy and lovely... shame it didn't rain.
  Also, it means I wont be able to spend my Birthday at home. Mleh, I'll get a cake for me.

  Edit: The remnants of hurricane Dolly is comming through. Flooding ruined my plans. it isn't too flooded where I am. (since I live in higher elevation) Some people are getting drenched though. I love the rain, but I suppose flooding is a shame.

  I apologize for lack of posting. I have been having crazy internet issues. First the internet people didn't want to replace some box out in the street. Then the road work people broke a different one, then they finally say they're going to fix the box after they fixed the road one. (and after many phone calls.) They should fix it soon though. ^-^
  
  Anyways, I will make it up by posing plenty of new pictures soon.(Likely today or tomorrow. ^-^) Also,I'm on coloring the new cover for Mud's Journey! So I did do something!

  I am finally going to send in my laptop to get it repaired, but it's going to be so expensive I'm very worried. At least the repair for m Ipod will be free. I got the protection plan (With luck like mine, precautions are good.)
  
  I got all of the info for housing, so I'm ready to apply, as soon as I can calculate my finances and everything in order. (California, here I come!) Classes on campus should be good. I hope.
  
  Since I'm going to be in California/or traveling to California on my Birthday in August, my mom bought me an early birthday present that I could enjoy before I go. She bought me a 72color set of Prismacolor Premier art markers!!!!! Thank you momma!
  I'm gonna draw so much art!!! Plus, I've finished the cover of the first issue of Diary Illusions!! I love it!

  School has been ok. I've been procrastinating quite a lot recently. I will have to haul overtime now. Anyways, I think I'm enjoying history of animation the most. That's quite odd actually because I figured, as a required course, it would bore the hell out of me. But I am very fond of that course.

  I bought myself the collectors edition dvd. If I wasn't so poor, I'd travel the world and get David Bowie, Jennifer Conelly, and anyone else I could to sign it. (I'd also get a proper domain name, start my business, and maybe a proper mp3 player.)
