The days are sweltering and hot as I contemplate my new old hometown. Move and change, it seems to happen a lot. Nights are easier to work with the cooler air and comforting sounds of sleeping souls.

I went south for a small portion of the winter this year, where it was cold rainy and miserable.
I understand why people like the tropics.

It has recently come to my attention that I am a bit of a slacker when it comes to referencing the work used as my inspiration or reference material for my artwork.
While it's not a question of copyright, it is a question of manners, and it is always important to give credit where credit is due.
Deviantart is a community of well mannered artists, and we should all aim to keep it that way.

To be honest, if I use a photograph as reference, which I do quite often, I don't often credit the photograph.
People have used my photographs as reference bases for drawing before, and I didn't think anything of it.

What I do LOVE about summer holidays, however, is my family.

Christmas time for me means playing uno and pictionary with my brothers and sisters.
Getting annoyed at which movie to pick because we all have different tastes.
Getting so sweaty while doing nothing because it's too hot to do anything, and complaining about it because you don't remember it being that hot the year before.

Its the end of the beginning for most. Finished uni, finding jobs, graduation in a few months. Friends leaving to be seen in a few years with many stories to tell. It's really sad, but it's nice to know that something different is coming, even if it is postgraduate study.

3 days until my honours goes to my examiners, my supervisor is making me climb hurdles, writing and rewriting my article every day. The last few months have been the craziest, fastest, blurriest, intense months of my life! Finishing my degree has been an insane ride that culminated in an exhibition and a realization that I still really have no idea which direction to take my life... So Ive decided to go with honours. I would like to eventually get my PhD so if I get first class honours, it makes it a lot easier for future study.

So I'm finishing my last semester of uni! Yay! But instead of being completely inspired and motivated I'm somewhat befuddled and confused as to what subject and assignment I should do first.

I think Ive decided to hand out 102 CVs at the end of the year along with my portfolio and try to get a job in the photography or gallery industry, and see where that takes me after a year. I'm kind of scared, but excited and anticipating the next stage in my life. i applied for a scholarship a couple of weeks ago and got it. yay! :clap: hehe. its a $1000 scholarship to help me with uni, and will be going towards setting up my new house (when i eventually find one) and buying new art materials and text books. :phew:

the amount of money uni costs is pretty ridiculous! haha. its about $2000 per subject, but we have hex which means we dont have to start paying off our uni debt till we start earning over $30 000 per year. which is pretty good i guess =D.
