I’m a mix…honestly, I’m not fully sure. I know I have some Scottish in me, other than that I’m not really sure. Soo yea, I’m a mix.^^

Sometimes…I can speak my mind a lot easier when I'm typing, though.

Single…romantic love isn’t something I’m really looking for. I’m perfectly happy with the love from my packmates…the best kind of love, I think. ^^

Nope! Not for at least seven years now! I’m a happy and healthy vegetarian. ^^

Sometimes.^^ If a book really catches me, then I love to read. I’m kinda particular about the kinds of books I like though…usually those that center around animals and from their point of view, aka “The Sight” is a great example.^^

Lots of music! Theme songs, rock, jpop and jrock, stuff from the 60’s, 80’s, 90’s…The Beatles, Keane, musicals, etc etc. I love music.^^

Hrm, time for an update here too I guess, eh? Well, I've uploaded several new art within the last couple weeks...and I have several more in the works right now too. [link] is the most important and emotional of those pieces I've recently uploaded. It's very special to me.

I've been working on a lot of more realistic stuff, people seem to like my realistic pictures. Although, at the same time I still really enjoy the more cartoony styles. I've figured I have three main "types" of styles going on here..."Realism" (example: [link] , "In the Middle" (example: [link]), and "Cartoony" (example: [link]).

The second style is probably my most common, it's not extremely cartoony but also leans more towards a "Lion king" type style, in a way. It's sort've a nice mix of having a realism look but also have the expressions of a cartoony look open to you.

What I'm wondering now is which of these styles do you people like the most? Look through my gallery, it's pretty clear which are which, I think. If I had a pay account and could make a poll, I'd do so...since I don't, just post and tell me what you think. Thanks!

Anyways, not sure what else to post here for now...I could ramble about all the stuff going on right now, but let's keep this journal focused on the art.

Please help the wolf and the donkey.

I came across this site earlier, it tells of a wolf and a donkey kept together in a tiny, filthy cage in Albania (the donkey intended as food for the wolf...however, the two formed a close friendship instead, as the photographs will show. The wolf, in fact, is seen cowering around the donkey as if for protection). You can read the story, updates and get the link for the petition to help them here...

I've heard of unusual friendships in the animal world like this before...the lioness and the oryx calves, the snake and the rat, etc and so on. However, these two really need help to get out of this horrid situation. The updates say that the donkey is now free to roam in the grass, but apparently still kept at the same place. The wolf is still in the cage, cowering in the corner.

The person who owns these two creatures knows nothing about either of them, clearly; is keeping them in awful conditions. Why not let the places that have offered to help them relocate them to a rescue center of some kind? The person thinks they'll make money from the story of this unusual pair's friendship. It's all about the money, isn't it? Some people really make me sick. Furthermore, the wolf was captured which means he likely has a pack in those mountains. Honestly, are people just that ignorant? I suppose I already know the answer for that.

I apologize for my rant, I'm just posting this so that further people will learn of their plight and sign the petition/do what they can to help out. I'm positive that this story is going to inspire me to draw something. In fact, yes, I'm already thinking on it.

Anyways, read the story, sign the petition and spread the word to all your friends. These guys need our help.

Updates:

I know, I haven't updated in a really long time, as usual. For the past several months my dog has been really sick with seizures/fainting spells. On October 23rd he went to the Rainbow Bridge, and my life has been a shattered mess ever since. I've had my little baby, my Billy boy, since I was only five years old and we grew up together. He was almost 17 years old. We did everything together, and I'm very glad to have spent so much time with him, but I will always, always miss him. I know he's still with me though, he's even given me little signs, and I dedicate my life to his honor. He was and always will be my best friend, my soul mate, my baby.

My featured artwork explains more, but only a few days later we lost our little cat, Milo, too. He kept sitting with Billy and staring at him after he'd left...he snuggled up and slept in his arms. I think now that he was telling him he was coming with him soon, and three days after we lost our dog, Milo had a stroke (I think) and left in my mother's arms. The two of them were very close, and Milo was recently loosing a lot of weight. He was around 16 himself.

It should go without saying that I haven't been much in the mood for anything lately. However, I've found some comfort in close friends and recently in online support groups and tributes for loved animals. Since these places have helped me, I thought I'd continue the outreach of support, both for myself and others who have felt this same pain and are looking for shoulders to lean against. So, make sure you check out my new community here on deviantART, "Rainbow Bridge".

As for new artwork aside from my newest piece there, that will come in time...in fact, I do have several new pictures I've simply yet to upload.

Alright, I'm sorry I haven't had much time for getting on and updating this thing...I do have some new doodles, none of them are totally done yet or I'd upload 'em. I'm working a lot on posters against things such as furs and rodeos, getting really involved in animal rights and stuff.^^ I took photos of the posters, they're far too huge to scan...so after we get the film I'll hafta' put those on here.

Ahh, I actually won Kovo's contest! o.o That was a huge shocker for me...and mucho hugs and lurvs to her! Thankies for loving my art so, and I had lots of fun entering the contest too. I'm not sure what else to put here for now...perhaps I'll update more laters.

Twenty interesting things on meh:

I am a wolf, I have always felt a very close connection to canines and wolves and see my inner self and totem as a wolf. The wolf is my teacher, my friend, and the wolf is me...it literally hurts me emotionally and physically to learn of people hurting wolves, or any animals. To howl is very liberating for me, I feel a closer connection to my packmates when I howl. Theres loads of other things I could say here, lets go on to the next thing though.

My wolf name, Akiko, is japanese for my own real name...well, almost. Akiko is 'autumn child', and my real name is Autumn. In addition to the name, Akiko's appearance is a wolf reflection of myself...her ears and eyes match my own hair and eyes, and her persona is the same as mine.

I am extremely protective of those I see as my pack, my family, my animals, my friends, etc. You're are my world, all of you, and I love you all so much. you know who you are.

I love to draw animals...why else would I even have a name here if I didn't love 'ta draw? I've drawn since I was able to hold a pencil and most of the time it's of animals...theres so much more emotion and inspiration in drawing them for me. I feel as though I relate to them more...humans I don't draw too often, they're not as interesting. I draw humans on occasion, mostly if it's for a friend or something of the sort, it's interesting to learn new poses and how to draw all sorts of creatures.

I'm a vegetarian who's working at going vegan, I haven't touched meat in almost six years and I feel quite healthy. I've read many, many horror stories of what really goes on in the factory farms and it sickens me...as mentioned, I hate to see any creature hurt. The treatment of these creatures is horrifying, the word cruel doesn't even work...it's worse. At the moment I think I'm more of a fruitatarian however, I love fruit more than veggies.

A note to the last, and this counts as the next also, some may think it's weird or untrue to my wolf self not to eat meat. I see nothing wrong with predators in the wild eating meat, for they are carnivores and have the natural weapons to hunt their prey. Humans are not equip with these fangs or claws, we evolved from primates who eat...mostly fruit and veggies. I won't go into it more, and don't you guys take any offense to this, it's just a part of me...a fact of myself.

I hate most girli things, and I grew up a tomboy and I still am one to this day. I've not had any interest in clothing, make-up, cute guys, dating, relationships other than the love that a family shares, etc. I refuse to wear dresses and I usually wear loose fitting guys t-shirts with animals or cartoon characters on the front and large, loose fitting jeans.

As a kid I caught frogs and got grungy all the time, I played with creepy crawlers while the other girls played with dolls. The only dolls I had were my mother's, and they turned into the evil human villains in my games of animals. I mostly played animal figurines, lion king and wolves, etc...and they were the heroes, while the human figurines were the villains.

I love the lion king, and many other animated animal movies...however, this movie is important to me. I grew up with it, in many ways. I saw it when I was nine and it originally was released in '94. That summer I must've seen it at least 75 times, I even had contests with a friend of mine to see who could see it more in a week. I still watch it, and I still love it as much as I did then. I got the sequel when it came out, and Vitani is awesome.

I collect wolf and lion king, and any other large canine or feline plushies, my room is decorated in them all over. Most of these I got throughout the years and they've just grown and grown...I'll hafta' take a picture sometime and put it on here.
