...we think The tech wasn't 100% sure as my little darling was very demure and didn't feel like exposing herself for more than 2 seconds at a time. She looks healthy and energetic. I think I'm a bit spoiled these days. I have acrylic yarn out the wazzu, but the thing that really makes me want to knit is some wool, cotton, or bamboo fibers. Luckily, I have some yummy autumnal-colored Super-wash wool skeins coming in the mail soon! I got them on knitpics.com and they even come with 4 or 5 useful patterns. Any day now I'll be setting to work on an excited new project

I learned my lesson about regular wool vs. Superwash this morning when I accidentally felted that darling cap sleeve cardi that I just finished Who'd have thought it could have happened in just one wash? Well, that's how dumb I am about natural fibers...

I just wanted you all to know that I haven't been slacking, I just haven't finished anything in a while. None of the projects I'm working on right now are terribly exciting. I am waiting for some yarn I bought on Etsy, hand-dyed bulky stuff that should be fun to knit with, basil and lavender colored...

Here's what I've been working on: Right to left that's a Griffindor scarf ala "Prisoner of Azkaban" because I haven't done one before; sparkly pink and silver scarf with seed st and ribbing; long and skinny black cardigan; blue/green/white mercanized cotton sleeve; gold chain inspired by Yokoo on Etsy.

Other things taking my attention include the impending beginning of the school year tomorrow (setting up the class) and a new addition to our family! Yes, my husband and I are expecting a baby in early April So lots to do and little time to do any of that fun stuff like knitting.

My knitting student just finished her first project and got to bind off for the first time! That was so cool. Then she got to cast on for the first time without help too! She kept saying, "I did all of this BY MYSELF!"

In other news, school's ALMOST out. 9 more days. Then I'm volunteering to help kids make props for Drama Camp, then I start teaching Summer School. The fun never ends, but it's a living.

All I really want to do is go somewhere! Anywhere besides the little Walmart town I live in! I'd love to go camping.

Oh! My promise to finish the cardigan quickly has been broken! So sorry I should have it done sometime before Halloween, but I took on a different job for this school year and so far I've been working 10-12 hour days. When I come home all I want to do is sleep! Today was the very last day of school. I moved everything out of my old room and into my new room. I'll be a 4th grade dual language (Spanish/ English) teacher next September-- terrifying but great!

Hopefully I will get financial aid to pay for intensive Spanish this summer. It's been a while since my last class.

I'm on my way to the store for more yarn. I decided to start a blanket that ties the many colors in our apartment together.

I'll be using chocolate brown, seafoam green, country blue, steel gray, caramel and cream.

I hope not to get distracted during this project. I'd really like to finish something!!!!!!

Haha, anyways, I'll knit strips like a scarf and those strips will have squares down them. I'll knit a square in 1X1 ribbing and then a square in k, p, p, k, etc. I hope it will look like a giant basketweave when I'm through.
