Well. After a few days of being busy and putting it off, I finally scanned, aligned and uploaded the rest of my portfolio from my colour photo class this past term. I'm rather pleased with it. Let me know what you think:

Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here album is on it's third rotation of the evening on my record player and I've got some nice tealights going so I think it'll be a good time to browse DA for some art. If there's anything you really want critiqued from you gallery let me know in this journal and I'll have a gander. But for now it's time for some green tea and a bit of relaxation.

It's 1:30 and I just rolled out of bed. First off. A huge thank you for Evan (` londonxpress). I woke up and found an e-mail saying he bought me a month subscription. I thought I was still sleeping, haha. Thank you Evan. It's very appreciated.

On Saturday I was out for a 3 hour rollerblade run and came across a marijuana march thing around Old Montreal. This is my first year in the city so I don't exactly know what it was but I had my camera with me so I snapped off about 50+ photojournalistic shots. I'm going to sort through them tonight and possibly post one or two. Also, I'm going to finish putting the Yellow Study and Blue Study together and get those up tonight as well. But for now it's time to get some cleaning done around the apartment and get ready for the day.

Also, if you get a chance to see the movie Crash, I highly recommend it. It's brilliantly done.

Well contrary to the last journal entry. I've got a few things up before this term is over. Hoorah. Though I write an archaeology exam tomorrow afternoon and then a Greek mythology exam Friday afternoon. Not-so-hoorah...

I'm just taking a break from some studying/waiting for a phone call from a potential employer to throw up a few photos from this past weekend that was spent back in the East. It was good to get back and see the family and eat a decent slice of pizza. Though approximately 12 hours in the back seat of a car each way can be kind of harsh.

I've got a few things in the message center to sort through, comments will be replied to shortly and after this week or so is over I plan on resubscribing so I can actually see the deviations I have waiting for me from my watchlist.

Oh, I no longer get the journal options of what I'm watching, listening to, etcetera...But all that's been spinning in the tunes-machine is Sublime's 40 oz. to freedom. It's summer baby!

Holy time-for-an-update Batman!

Well it's been a while since I've updated this bad boy and even submissions have been few and far between. School has been busy and is going to be in overdrive the next few weeks. I have so much shooting to do. I just spent $80 on film yesterday and it will all be shot within the next week.

I'm heading back home to the coast for five days tonight. Bringing the Bronica 645, couple of hotshoe flashes and some umbrellas to shoot with. This trip is going to be focused on shooting for my end of term portfolio. Fun stuff. I'm going to feel like a pro during these shoots. Directing people and setting up scenes. I can't wait.

Also, I picked up a few rolls of Fuji's Pro 160 NPL tungsten film. If anyone has any experience with this and has any tips or suggestions for when shooting it, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Other than that, I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day. I kicked around my apartment with my roommate and ate cake that she made, haha, then had some JD and did some small photoshoots in my bedroom studio. It was actually quite fun. Anyone have any funny Valentine stories to share?

After two hours of replying, I'm going to bed.

If you get the chance to watch Garden State before it comes out on DVD December 28th, 2004, I highly recommend it. It is a wonderful film with a brilliant soundtrack. And also, I will admit, it made my eyes water. There have only been two films prior that have done this.

Another deviation up. More to come, whether sooner or later, it is hard to say. School should be getting busy very soon.

Back in business.

School's going awesome. This city is amazing. And I now have my account back and I've just purchased a prints account. I'm going to be adding some stuff to it tonight hopefully (once I make dinner/clean up the apartment and get back from the darkroom). Now for the interesting news...

CONTEST!

It's a call to all you creative people out there who can hold a pencil, pen or brush (or all three). I'm looking for a tattoo design, if you're interested in entering let me know and I'll get back to you with the guidelines. The prize will be a choice of a print from my prints account once I get it up and going tonight.

Also, I'm going to have an interesting contest once I get prints up.

But yeah, I'm not going to be submitting for a little while, or at least until I get a little side project taken care of and such. But, there may be the occasional spontaneous upload or two if I want some feedback on a piece that I'm working on or need an opinion on. But I will still be kicking around the site looking at everyone's lovely pieces.

On a side note, I've been taking a self-portrait every morning for the past few days. It's kind of relieving and helps get some emotion out. I don't really understand how it works but it feels like it's helping in some way...
So there may be a lot of spontaneous self-portraits popping up in the future, haha, each conveying a different idea, concept, mood or emotion.

Well let's see, updates eh? I haven't really been out shooting since I last uploaded some photos but I really hope to get out tomorrow or at least by the end of the week. I really have a few ideas I want to try and get out as well as I want to really start experimenting with my photography and see to what boundries I may be able to take it.

On another note summer is drawing closer and closer to a close and there are two people I really want to do some shooting with. Those two people would be:

(If either of you two would like to just drop me a message or a line, I've got plenty of film to spare (all B&W though, haha) and an itchy shutter finger)

Other than that news, I'm pretty much a very bored guy right now. Shooting is slow, BBQ's are few and far between due to crappy weather and this town is too small to find anything relatively entertaining to do on boring nights.

I think this journal entry just won for my longest one yet. Ah well.

I can't wait to get up to Montreal. Catch you guys next time I'm around. Oh, also, if you comment on this journal, leave a link to a photo or two that makes you think. One that sparks real thoughts. I like seeing other people's perceptions under certain lights.
