So, bit party next weekend. My parents are celebrating their 50th birthday and the fact that they’ve been able to endure eachother for the past 25 years. Heaven knows how they managed.. *cough*
Anyways, my sister comes home on wednesday, guests from Denmark and North-Norway start showing up around the same time as well. My mom is fairly stressed and somwhat desperate, that’s why she IM’ed me on msn asking if I want to make some cash (read. help clean the house). So, I said yes as cash is something I simply don’t say no to. And for 800 NOK I’ll throw in dusting.
Unfortunately, there are various parts of this that makes me regret I even agreed in the first place. First of all, I really don’t feel like cleaning a house I moved out of two years ago. There’s a REASON why I moved out and that was so I didn’t have to do it again (amongst other things).

Mood: pissy
Listening to: Syste of A Down - Chop Suey

So, she picks me up and stops by the mall to pick up some food and beverage, constantly mumbling about various things I *think* I should know about, but it’s hard to tell considering I couldn’t make out a damn thing she said. I told her I couldn’t hear her, and she turns around continuing to mumble, but at least she’s facing me. See, a start.
When we get BACK to the car, mom then notices she can’t find her keys. They were still in the keyhole.. in the locked car… So we have to wait for my dad to bother stopping by with the sparekey to unlock it so we can get to the house.
When we get to the house my mother continues to mumble about things I should know, but I had frankly given up trying to make out what it was. I got the part where she said “Kitchen/Livingroom or bathroom?” So I naturally picked kitchen and livingroom since I hate cleaning bathrooms.
Mom bakes cake, I get ShadowXP to come by after work. Hey, no way in hell i was gonna get stuck spending time with my mom without having him suffer too.
Mom continues to list all the various things that needs to get done and finally this time she’s not mumbling in the opposite direction. However, she also wants tus to come out to the cabin and help set up the large tents we’re gonna be at. Which we can’t really say no to since we already agreed to help (someone kill me now). When we get there, there’s a lot of fuzz getting the tents up. I’m starting to understand why there are partyplanners out there with lots of staff and bigass incomes. When tent number two is about to be set up mom and her friend Anne Marie starts to talk about space, how it should be arranged and whatnot. Ever seen “Keeping Up Apperances” with that Bucket-lady? It sounded like two of those, and my father finally had it and said “Put it wherever you want, i don’t care” and went to have a sit. Harald (Anne Marie’s husband) gave him a beer in order to cool down and relax a bit.

FINALLY we got the friggin’ tent up and were ready leave. I was exhausted, I hate partytents! The following day we went down to my moms house in the afternoon (yeah yeah, i should have been there around 11 am, but i overslept. ShadowXP kept me up all night with his snorring.) ready to clean. We were there to around 7-8 pm and we were still not finsihed so we had to go back again on the Sunday to take the rest.
But here’s the fun parts of it all.
After going home on saturday night my “beloved” brother had come home, dragged crap with him all over the carpet that i had to vacuum AGAIN and hadn’t even bothered putting away the dishes after he was done eating and drinking in the LIVINGROOM. Before i left on Sunday I specificly told Mikkel; “If you make a mess again I’ll make sure you never live to see your 18th birthday!” From the feedback I got from my mom when she got home, success is mine!

The other thing was that i stumbled upon an invitation regarding my newest little cousin named Leo baptism, and I thought “oh, mine probably hasn’t arrived yet” since i hadn’t heard anything about it. Untill i noticed the date on it. It was from March. It’s nice to know your family thinks of you on special occassions. And it’s not that it was far away either, they live like 15 minutes away from us. Needless to say, I got pissed, but mostly sad. I didn’t know I was supposed to be exluded from the family and its events without anyone saying anything and without me doing anything particulary wrong saying i WANTED to be exluded. In the long run I just thought it was bloody unfair.
Buuut.. I never liked uncle Lars any way. Arrogant prick. But that’s another story.

Oh, and Tiggy has found a new “mommy” and will be moving tomorrow. I’ll miss him *sniff* And...
