gonna subscribe again at the end of the week or so, cuz i just bought a few things...mostly new albums....2 atmosphere alubums [sevens travels, god loves ugly] the sage francis dead poets live album, and the postal service - give up...i already had 3 of those albums in my mp3s...but i felt like supporting these artists. bough some new shorts and...oh yes. a camp chair.

right now the democratic national convention is on...john edwards just gave a really nice speech to america. and then his kids came out and they're f'in adorable. good speech though...i don't think you get someoen much further from being dickhead cheney...did i say dickhead...i mean DICK. yeah...he's probably worse than bush is.

i've been trying to save some money...

okay so now...my computer is doing a bit better.
today i finally got high speed connection so that's cool.
my piece of shit car is gone forever, and as of now life is good.

some of you may or may have not noticed that i've been away for a few days... i kindof just feel off the face of the earth...i spent a few nights out of the house...kindof took a much needed vacation from life without going anywhere. enjoyed this beautiful place for what it is.

also. my computer is acting real fucked up. but i made a new user account on it and that seems to have smoothed things out a bit.

the downside...all my shortcuts and my whole desktop has to be redone...but i guess that's not such a bad thing.

i am tired but i want to say something quick cuz if i don't i'll die.

todya was cool...i went to the 2004 class graduation at Triton [my old highschool] to watch some younger friends of mine walk...it was pretty funny. made me feel old.

then i had to work for 8 hours...which went by like a breeze..

i did a drawing that i like a bunch..it will get scanned and posted tomorrow maybe. i onl;y have to work till 9 then.

but anyway after work i went up to this girl Brie's house for her graduation party. that was pretty fun...Brie is movie away to Cali in a month or two and i will miss her

had a little misadventure on the ride home when one of my friends thought she'd have a try at puking out the window...yeah it was gross...and i tried to hose it off but it's still fucking gross.

got some film to finish off and maybe i'll get it developed monday for tuesday.

today i went down to the reservation beach on the island...

we walked south down the beach and up the river until the beach gave way to rocks...then we walked the rocks until those gave way to marsh. then we walked back. it's so untouched by humanity

that took about 5 hours...and i took a lot of nice pictures

sometimes i think i live in paradise...

got 3 days of work to look forward to...always a good time.

ummm lets see...i finished my first roll and a half of fisheye shots today...prolly gonna get em developed on monday.

i'm starting more hours as of tomorrow...so 2 more nights a week = another 100 bucks or so in my pocket a week...so i can start knocking stuff off the wishlist.

Last night i went to one of the biggest parties there's prolly ever been in this town...triple [yes triple] keg party at bens....of course some shit went down, nothing that effects me...

i ended up coming home with some random hat that someone gave me.....didn't go home till like 3:30...woke up hungover as usual...but it was worth it. a very much sober person gave me a ride home, so i didn't have to walk the 1/4 mile from there to here. i dunno...life is good i guess.

FISHEYE LENS IS HERE i opened the box, screwed on the adapter and it mounted wonderfully onto my SLR...i'm gonna go out and shoot with it like now or something.

my film from B&H came too...it was kindof funny...the lens was at the back door, and they dropped the film out front.

but yeah i'm stoked because i can finally do all that fun fisheye stuff with an SLR...

my tv tried to explode

but it didn't go out without a fight...there was a loud snap and pop...the image got fucked...and then there was this awful loud noise...

i tried to turn the tv off but it wouldn't turn off...then it started to smell like burning...

luckily i found the cord and unplugged it before it turned into a flaming ball of burn my house down.

tragedy averted...but a close call indeed.

i ended up going to see "the day after tomorrow" with josiah and eve.

it was amazing...go see it now. in a theatre with surround sound and stuff.

got 2 rolls of 35mm to pick up tomorrow morning and some 120 film to drop off..holga stuff.

i need to sleep now.

today was pretty uneventful...had to take a raincheck on the lunch did some yard work for the folks. worked 5-10.

i did do that drawing though...and i'm quite proud of it..i think i'm going to get back into drawing mechanical stuff more...i got into organic forms for a while...and i'll continue to do them, but a lot of people my mecha are what really shine.

so yeah new account for drawing coming soon...new film coming as soon as tomorrow night.

also i'm watching the POW MIA memorial chopper being built on the discovery channel...and it's such a beautiful machine. it really is a great compliment to those lost in vietnam..

speaking of bad wars. . .

yeah not gonna get into talking about iraq.

silly song been stuck in my head.

work was interesting...it went by pretty quick.

at one point...this really old white guy came in...he must have been like 60 or so.

but anyway we were shooting the shit about high gas prices and he says,

"i got this little lyric about all this"

and then the old man started bustin rhymes about politics and hip hop and how the government is fucking us over.

it was the most awesome thing. an old man freestlye.

i hope to be that cool when i'm old.

ummm what else...i did a drawing of course. i will submit it as a deviation and then scrap it later i'm sure.

i'm gonna go out and do a night shoot...the moon is very bright and beautiful tonight...but yeah Sparks is coming over when he gets out of work at midnight. hopefully he won't get my stoned and destroy my ability to know how to take photographs, but alas he is Sparks, and that's what sparks does.

let's see i umm...went to my buddy dan's place, drank a few beahz. he just got a kitten and named him Wilson, after the phish song.

came back here relatively early and passed out. slept in and had some strange dreams that i can't remember right now.

today has been good though. i got some of my film...i am very happy with the fed 5 stuff...the holga and 645 is looking good as well, but i don't have time to scan/post it tonight.

i went to my dads house for most of the day...we tuned up one of my bikes, and he gave me some awesome cameras that he's found at yard sales. one of them is an AGFA box. which is a very simple medium format 6x9 box camera...fixed lens made of 2 components...it has a little slide with 2 aperatures on it as well as a yellow filter for black and white.

the second camera is a Kodak Motormatic 35...this is a classic, one of the first semi automatic self winding cameras ever made. it's got both manual and automatic features...it's about 10 years older than my fed, and it holds it own retro charm.

the third camera is a konika cf 35...it's an interesting little rangefinder but it's pretty much fully auto and it's got some issues...

but yeah new toys...i've got a roll of film in the Motormatic...gonna see what she can do. i just love the old schoolers.

i had time to put up three FED shots i think. just some random stuff, but i enjoy the shots...

for those of you who like the holga works, more holga stuff soon.

for those who enjoy long exposure, more on the way soon as well

sorry if my photography is getting mad random...i'm just trying to expand my horizons.

i'm gonna do a drawing every night i work.

and i just found out i'm gonna be doubling my hours in the next week or two. which means i'll be making like 200 bucks a week or something...not bad for part time. that also means i'll be able to knock things off of my wishlist a lot faster than i first expected to.

so yeah i'm gonna try to figure out a good name for a second account that doesn't involve my last name or the word one.

but anywho. my fed stuff was ready, but the shop where i get my medium format stuff done was having technical difficulties, so i probably won't have that stuff until tomorrow at the earliest.

i did manage to get a few nice shots off that fed roll...most of the stuff was nice, but not gallery worthy.

there's a few more i want to scan but the scanners being a bitch.

can't wait for my fisheye lens to get here...

well maybe it wasn't so much of a waste. i did a lot of research about cameras. decided that i need a new digital, because my current one is having more and more missing pixels in it.
i also looked into some other stuff i'd like to get my hands on. i'm gonna make a little wishlist. and put it at the bottom of my journal...for self motivation towards goals

i'm getting more hours at work...hopefully another 10 hours a week or so. which will help me get those things i so want.

been kindof out of it all day, went over to my friend eve's house and they made Sangria? which is some sort of booze punch with wine and triplesec. it wasn't very strong but quite tasty.

there was an intense game of pictionary and my team won! woot....also my friend who blows glass wants to do an art trade for one of my prints that he saw at the school show.

i god a wicked cool sticker on my fed now! it's pretty neat.

umm also i found this great book called "would you rather" with a bunch of unlikely questions would you rather... it can be pretty funny.

but yeah things are actually beginning to look up...this summer was about to get really depressing but things have all of the sudden turned around, but this door swings both ways, so who knows how thiings will keep up.

i did a pretty fun drawing at work today, i put a lot of time into it.

i have alot i should be happy about, primarily the fact that i can create and compose art, about the most wonderful thing i've ever known to do.

but yeah i drowned my problems with copious amounts of booze at a friend of mines house last night. a few of my good friends have a house just down the street for the summer, so there will be good times, i saw a lot of people i haven't seen for a while. it was a good time. i hate to drink like that though, i always seem to end up hungover these days.

my fucking head hurts.

the sun didn't come up today. i hate dark days, i think the world will end on a dark day, it would only be fitting. but yeah i have to go to work soon

dirty house clean house

maybe if i cleaned as i dirtied this wouldn't be such a problem....


well i went for a good ride today [but then again all bike rides are good]

today i went down to the waterfront in newburyport and shot with my Holga using some slide film...as well as color with the FED...i should slow down...i'm shooting more than i can afford to develop...

but anyway you can never shoot too much

i am pretty psyched right now though, cuz i just got a new mountain bike

my father buys and rebuilds bikes as a hobby, and he sells most of them. but anyway he picked up this really dope mountain bike for me.

i took that out for a quick spin and i'm lovin it.

but yeah i've barely started cleaning...all the empties are gone now...recycling truck came today. but i still have to clean a bunch of stuff up...the worst thign is that i have some dirt spots to clean out of the carpet, cuz certain jackasses couldn't obey the no shoes rule.

but yeah i'm still unmotivated to clean that shit...so i think i'm gonna scan some sketches in.

and i had 30 minutes to catch the train.

i got there set up my shot...and hopefully it comes out.
crazy thing is, since i'm at the end of the line...the train dropped off people...came back across the tracks so it could change...then it passed again to go to the trainyard.

so i got 3 shots

i also shot that "toxic wasteland" again from different angles since i was right there.

left my digital at home though...cuz i figured i was only gonna have a chance to take 1 picture...



i released a pair of shots from the other night...i didn't like these before but i cropped a bit and they're kindof solid now.

[PS] [oh yes] on an annoying sidenote...my fed5c did get here today...but the fucking rangefinder doesn't work properly when focusing. i would be pissed enough to send it back...but the lens is in better shape then the one i got with my fed5b...so i'll use the c for spare parts...the light meter was pretty inaccurate...so i'll use my fed 5b...and i am happy to do so...
