In February I will be both turning 20 and I will have been on dA for 5 years. Hence the journal title.

So, I decided that to celebrate both those events I want to run a contest. And nothing silly like make me a CSS or ID or something, I want a -serious- art contest.

So that's what this journal is about. Would any of you possibly want to help me judge and donate something for the prizes? I'll probably start the prize list off with a yearlong sub + something for the first place and random stuffs for the next few places.

I have a theme in mind for the contest, but I'd prefer not to share yet, but I think it would get some awesome entries.

So, if you read this and would want to help, please drop me a note, feel free to ask more questions about the contest etc.

I just ended up getting one to the top part of my right ear. Which makes the total 5 now

I have no idea how I ended up with that many.

The piles of snow are higher than 2 feet (more than half a meter).

Public transport is running off schedule, there is not nearly enough man power to keep the streets clean. Right now, I'm on the second largest town over here, and this is what a classmate said "I feel like I'm a kid who lives in some sort of a village who has to make their way through the snow to get to school."

Though the winter is awesome, it's a pain in the ass to move around.

So, since I got a job (translating subtitles, I tell you, it isn't easy

) and I have been wanting to re-setup my homepage I've run into some trouble.
I can't decide on a name!
In Estonia the page would be name .pri.ee and if I have extra money then maybe one day it'll become name .com too.
My last page was bittersweet .pri.ee that I mostly just used to easily upload crap and save it, also it had a lot of my backup copies of photos and stuff.
Now, I want the page to be a bit more serious. Like really have photos, contacts etc. Should I just go with my real name or think of something catchy? Because I checked, one of my online aliases 'siribiribimm' is free as a .com domain too. I don't really have any other awesome usable online aliases.

Do you have a page? How/what did you name it?

Any suggestions?

Starting from today I'm a #helper. Kind of awesome. The new bunch of helpers are like a group of trigger happy hyperactive noobs. And that's really amusing.

I think I'm done going over my gallery, I left the pieces I liked best, the rest I threw into storage.

And I'm now once again a subscriber, I could post endlessly in the forums (wtf, 10k posts soon). It's a bit sad that the forums aren't all that interesting anymore. Maybe once I get to know the newer people again I'll find them funny again.

I've been sorting through my stuff and throwing things away. Seeing as how I've been on dA for three and a half years I decided to clean my account a bit too. I deleted a few deviations, cleared out old useless journals and scrapped some things.

Yesterday, finally it was the Metallica concert.
Oh my god. It was so awesome I lack words to describe it. 78000 people. My friends and I got into the fan area (6ooo people) and during the Metallica concert we were about 7 meters from the stage and completely in the middle. It couldn't get much better than that.

Also, the people where were just insane. Some people stood in front of the stage for 7 hours before the concert. We seriously started to pick a place sometime around 8 (2 hours before Metallica came on) and let me tell you, getting past hardcore fans isn't easy.

The warm-ups were Pedigree (Estonia), Tanel Pader & the Sun (Estonia) and Bullet For My Valentine. But compared to Metallica they were all plain. It was completely insane to look behind you and see all those 70k people standing there. When Metallica played Nothing Else Matters, the crowd was singing so loudly that for some time you couldn't hear James sing.

Also, being in the crowd was kind of a pain. Firstly, because some morons were smoking there and there was little air there anyways. Secondly, eveyrone was pushing you from every direction. I hurt all over. But by now I have my voice back. It was insane. About half the people walked together back to the town center, that was insane too.

I'm so excited, it was so totally worth the money and the pain that went with it.

In the summer, last year, the Photography tutorials subcategory was terribly empty. There were less than two dozen deviations there. That's when I got the idea for Getting the best from a shoot . Today I am really surprised over the feedback it got. Right now it's approaching 2000 views

A few days ago *PhotoLust asked for permission to post it too.
I can say that it's a good feeling to know that you helped people in some way.

Now, more than 6 months later it's good to see the photography tutorials gallery have a lot more entries and all of them quite interesting.
Also, the resources gallery has a new GD, ^bleedsopretty. I've sent her a few ideas on the tutorials gallery and resources gallery in general and there's hope that things will get moving and that section will get a revamp which is good to hear

(If you've ever tried browsing the PS tutorials section you'll understand what I mean.)

But, the point I was actually getting to is that I'm planning to write up a few more tutorials. Well, not all of them are tutorials, more like essays on the inner workings of dA. One, for certain, the one I have been working on most will be on the forums. Another one will probably touch the commenting side of dA. I haven't gotten past those two ideas yet.

But, what I am asking right now if for you to drop me some suggestions on topics I shouldn't miss when writing about the forums. It would be terrible if I eventually finish it (probably some time this or next month) and realise that I forgot something important.

So please, any ideas are very welcome
