Today I had a guitar lesson, participated in the Physics Olympiad, voted, had an I.C. test and an interview for the exchange program (to Italy).

It required a lot of thought not to forget about anything. I'm learning about scales in guitar at the moment. The Physics Olympiad is something sat all over Australia. The written section required all my creativity and inventing-from-all-the-random-things-that-I-have-observed-in-my-life skills. I didn't get to finish my I.C. test, so I'm not so happy with that. I really hope I get in for Music Captain. Mrs Herley will call up all the candidates individually and tell them if they get in or not. How suspenseful will that be. 'You...' And of the three, I was the last interviewed, as those two both had excuses. I said the same thing about five times.

Today I had to go to the university to sit the Dante Alighieri exam, which is for Italian. I think I passed it but I mixed up all my tenses in the grammar section and couldn't for the life of me understand some of the other parts. All in all, it went pretty well. I couldn't find my dictionairy I wanted but the dictionairy I had had most of the words.

They'd given us the wrong time for finishing on the sheet, so we where done half an hour earlier than expected. Katherine and Alicia and I waited for our parents. Katherine's father came first, then Alicia's mother. We all waited together for my mother. They stayed with me.

On the way home from art class I met a lady at the bus stop who had a daughter who was an opera singer and had gone to Iona. It was an interesting encounter. There was another person on the bus who had some kind of scary impairment who figured we were talking about Italian and counted one to ten aloud. (Making a few mistakes.) She scared me.

Right now, I feel a great sense of freedom, but at much loss. I have a lot of hope right now.

Finished talk, put a poem in it too (which really worked, actually...), cut the guitar. Doesn't work well with it. I figure I'm going to be pretty boring for the next few weeks until the voting is done with.

Clare Evans, the Drama Captain in year 12, complimented me on my speech, and a few other people, so I must've done something right. I hope I get in... I've got a good chance...

Sooner or later I'm going to have to get all my art from my lessons and photograph it all and make a record and file it away properly. Right now I am just procrastinating. I've got quite a lot of work to do and haven't been doing my homework lately. (Not good.)

Also trying to work out other things which really don't add up for me right now. I guess I'm just trying to put it off, but it's not going to go away. The Butterfly Effect. Just takes a small thing to drastically change my life.

*twang twang twang...* (a little bit of guitar)

Sure, I'm a performer, but I've got a lot more to offer and I'm here to tell you why you should vote me as Music Captain.

(Introduction suggested by Mrs Buselich and I think every other Music Captain is going to be doing the same thing.)

I am a very dedicated guitarist, and I am an active choir member. I am interested in a variety of subjects and have a lot of great ideas which I will carry out passionately given the support I need.

I will open doors for our musicians, quite literally. I want to open up the Music Department during lunchtimes and encourage more people in their musical passions.

In particular, I would like to have a bigger emphasis on bands for our singers, guitarists and pianists. I will help organise these and ensure their success.

I would organise more fun music activities which don't require auditioning; to make it easier to get involved, to make music more attractive and interesting for everyone.

As Music Captain, I would be in a very good position to introduce new hymns to our school. As a catholic school, hymns are very important, and I would love to share hymns from my local parish with my school, some of which are very special.

And now what you have been waiting to hear! I will try to get bands or performers to come in and play for us in the hall, because listening to music is lots of fun and very beneficial to everyone.

So these are the things I stand for: love and justice, music and more music! If you're interested in music making and music hearing, vote Juliet Burridge.

*twangy twan twn twan, twang twang* (small guitar flourish)

(And this is where I say... please help make this better, or more funny or something if you can.)

Hey all. Juliet here, by the way. I haven't been on here a long time and don't have a scanner at the moment, but I should be posting up some new work soon...ish. Going for Music Captain for school next year, I hope I get in. I have some ideas. Recently I went to Music Camp. I am hoping to go on exchange to Italy as well. It's busy enough.

I suppose it's a little strange, that I joined DeviantArt because of Luka, but then she made me promise to never look at her account, so I lost interest. However, seeing as I've found other friends that are on D.A., I suppose I might visit a little more often (ie: not never) and have a look at their work. I like to see other people's ideas, etc.
