For those of you who have randomly found my DA page... I was the Rouge cosplayer. Thanks to everyone that came over and said hi, it was so nice talking to you all! As many of you asked how the head was made and if it was official (very flattering!), I have put up a deviation with some in progress pictures. For those that asked about commissions, yes I would be happy to make a head or even just a pair of ears. ^_^ I hope this inspires you cosplayers somewhat and I look forward to seeing many more cosplayers for SoS '10!

Anyway. I'm now at Royal Holloway university. It's weird, you know. I never did think I would get to uni, yet here I am, apparently passing the course well and settling in marvellously. Got a group of very good friends who have been awesome support in my time of need last month and a crazy webcomic coming up that perfectly reflects our insanity. Look out for it, dudes.

Anyway... College has started back, yet oddly I've actually been in the mood to draw constantly for the past week. Usually this will to draw and do it well only comes across once every few months. Over the summer I was inspired a lot to start writing the story connected with the characters I've drawn too... I may well upload that at some point when it's been tweaked a little and if people are curious to see my literature-inclined imaginative side.

Often, my drawings are based on a mood or feeling that I am experiencing. Does anyone else notice that while you are drawing, you assume the same kind of facial look as the character you want to draw, except less severe? The same tenseness, the same pain they're feeling if that is the case? The same happy feeling they are if that's the scenario? You'd be surprised. A picture really can be worth a thousand words if you look beyond the pretty lining and nice shading. This is how I express myself. Some people are better at doing it in writing, in poetry, in photography... But this is what I do. Maybe not as well as I'd like sometimes, but I try.

I find that music also helps. It's an essential component of helping boring bus journeys pass and such, but it's more than just that. It allows one to shut off from the world around them and fully throw themselves into what they are doing, and the mood of the piece being listened to can affect the outcome of the picture slightly by changing your own mood. It's known to happen that if you listen to a piece of music you really like long enough, your body ends up tuning in with it and even your heart rate slowly comes up to the beat of the song. Kind of freaky, that, but to be in tune with something you like that much and to just cut yourself off from distraction... It's a lovely feeling.

Well, that was rather an insight into how I think, wasn't it? To finish on a slightly more random note, I found out I've only got blocks A + B in my timetable. That means today is a day off for me for this week. I'm picking up more AS levels next week (IT and some other random AS... Maybe Art? I dun know...), but it's nice to have had a first week that was not rushed at all. It's gone better than I thought, and I've talked to some people a lot more recently... Sorry for abandoning you by the way, Antony. Just remember you have Bob still and I do not!
