Now, I'm not the biggest X men fan out there and anything to do with Wolverine will probably get nothing but the upmost distain from me.

It was the first time I saw him and I thought he was the coolest person ever.
Then "Thriller" came on right after them.

-Optimus Prime kicking serious arse. In more ways than one.
-The twins. (I really didn't think I would, but, well...)
-Megs and Starscream.
-The femme-bots. (Wheeee!)
-Simmons being Simmons
-That one really, really, reallllly old robot. With the cane. <3
-That one robot I usually depise all incarnations of, but I adore in this one. XD
-Leo. Poor, poor Leo. >D
-SOOOOOUUUUUUUNNNNNNNDWAAAAAAVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEE.
-Sam Witwicky screaming like a little girl. (glorious)

So, Sunday night, I'm feeling too awake to sleep and too lazy to do any work, so I get an apple from the fruitbowl and settle in my room to read a magazine. The apple's been there a while, buuuut I don't care.
Sooo about five minutes in, I crunch into the core (yes, I eat the cores too) and a little movement catches my eye...
...there. Is. A. Freaking. Worm. In my apple.

Me: 'O_O ...BLAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGHHHHH!!'

Cue bits of apple flying everywhere and the apple+worm flying out the window into the garden where it belongs. >_<

On wednesday, 17/10/2007, the American movie director JOHN LANDIS came to do an interview/talk at my college.
So, being a huge fan of his movies, I had to go.

...I'm constantly asked that question one way or another whenever a fellow art student looks at my scribbles. It's annoying.

Sure, a lot of my work has 'manga' qualities to it (I willingly admit to that), but that does not mean it's all I want to draw. There's other stuff mixed in there too!

I am a fan of manga, but not in everything about it. Personally I can't stand overly girly 'bishounen' with eyes taking up 60% of their faces and heroines with boobs bigger than their heads.
I'm more interested in those with added realism to them, to be honest. Naruto, Death Note and Fullmetal Alchemist are my top three right now.
(Initial reaction: 'OMG! realistic anatomy and proportions!?? *grabs*)

But that's just me.
Still, if there's a good story there, whatever the artwork, I'm all for it!

Mind you, before the word 'Manga' was even in the Irish vocabulary, everyone thought I drew nothing but 'Xmen' stuff.
...I wasn't really, but you get the idea...

It's 'developement' and 'growth' of a personal art style, people!! Sheesh...
Heck, for art student like me collecting comics and manga books is practically essential!

And don't get me started on people from outside Japan who want to be Manga-ka. It's just not the same. It really isn't.
Besides, 'Manga' is practically a term for 'Graphic Novels made in Japan', which is essetially what they are. Not just comics.
They are graphic novels and these people will be graphic novelists. End of story
...which isn't a bad thing. We need more graphic novels!

Last weekend I was at the Oxygen Music Festival with my sister, and I'm telling ya...

Never. Again.

Hey, it was cool and all with all the bands and everything (those I knew of anyway...),
but seriously-NEVER AGAIN. No more camping-related activities for me. Nope.

Besides all that it was pretty friggin' awesome. ^^

Best part? ...The Who.
They were late, but they were brilliant.
Roger doin' his whippy-microphone tricks and Pete slamming that guitar like nobody's business!!
Heck, Pete's in his early sixties now and there he was, hopping around like a mad monkey on stage!
They played all three of their songs from the 'CSI' series, 'Pinball Wizard' and 'Behind Blue Eyes', plus a bunch more.
And that made me a happy bunny. <3

There was a LOT of rain that day, being Ireland and all, but it was so worth it to see those two old rockers show all those young bucks how its done!

It's just so weird...he was only nine years old, big and strapping...
He came in Monday evening, quiet, stiff and slow-moving, totally unlike himself.
He couldn't even purr.
And two days later, it was over.

Ollie, who would come running if he was within hearing range of the fridge door being opened...
Ollie, who would sometimes let me pet him once, then bite my hand if I didn't leave him alone...
Ollie, who was such a loudmouth he could hold a 'conversation', whatever the subject...
Ollie, whom my mother and sister swear had caught a bat one evening...
Ollie, who had the longest tail I've ever seen on a cat...
Ollie, who was so small when we first brought him home to show Mom...

My only regret is that I couldn't be there for his last days, but my sister was there the whole time and I know no one else would have made him feel more warm and comfortable and loved.

He's buried at the bottom of our garden, with his own stone vase of flowers.
I sit here with Ollie's sister, Garfield, and think about the good times...
At least he came back home.

Local police announced today that attractive, willowy teenage males were responsible for the recent damage to Tokyo Tower. In a press conference, investigators with the Tokyo Police Department showed composite images of two young men who eyewitnesses reportedly saw "flying through the air" and deuling withswords atop the communications tower shortly before part of the structure exploded on December 31, 1999.
One of the suspects is believed to be 15-year-old Kamui Shiro, an effetely handsome high-school student. Shortly before the incident, he was spotted in the company of his tall, similarily gorgeous childhood friend Fuuma Monou, who is also missing.
Police declined to comment on whether or not Fuuma or Kamui were connected with the recent deaths of several extraordinarily beautiful male teenagers and adults in the Tokyo area.
"If you see either of these individuals, do not approach them," cautioned Tokyo police spokesperson Satsuki Okawa. "They are dangerous. And very,very pretty."

I was just thinking about when I was little, back in the late 80's/early 90's, and I realized something....

Do ya ever think of those old kids programs and cartoons from that time?
I do. I remember some were pretty darn good too...
Lessee here...

I can remember the Swamp Thing cartoon (with it's kickass theme-song ).
Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons, Stunt Dawgs, Catillacs and Dinosaurs...The Toxic Avenger (no, really).
And I swear there was this one called 'Hot Rod Dogs and Cool Car Cats' but I can't find ANYTHING about it!

AND here was 'Earthworm Jim', 'Beetlejuice' and 'Freakazoid'...
(which SHOULD have their own DVDs, I might add >_<

And a whole bunch more...

Good years for wacky, non-condesending cartoons on the whole, you gotta agree.
