So, work is still no fun. But no surprise there, its just really draining. Luckily, I have some sketches that I finished, and all of today off. I'm making it my goal to upload something quasi-finished before the day is out. Meaning sunday, of course. At least I have some ideas to throw around.

Ideas are good, but they dont show for crap on an art website. But if they did, damn I'd be awesome!

I wouldnt be surprised if everyone gave up, but hopefully my "holycrapisheDED" absence hasnt turned too many people away. Unfortunately, no real excuse exists for me virtually disappearing for 6 and a half months. I could try and cop out of it with something lame, but I'll just say I was an ass.

There. I said it.

I am sorry for all those that watched me expecting some form of art (or whatever you call my drawings) from me. I pretty much lost all inspiration for a while there. I didnt draw for months, and I hated it. Its the one thing thats stayed constant since I was a kid. Having no real will to do it for a while kinda freaked me out, like a part of me was just gone suddenly.

Anyway, thats all over with now. Im pretty much back to normal, as far as art goes. I'm even coloring again, which is oh so fun to re-learn. Hopefully I'll be updating fairly regularly now, and even if I dont put new art up, I wont disappear again without a trace. I promise you all.

To all my friends that worried about me, I am truly sorry for being so dreadful. I did not mean any harm, but If I were in your shoes I think some anger would be justified. Hopefully you can all forgive me.

My Grandfather passed away the 29th of November. He fell asleep and never woke up, the painless death that most people hope for. he was 68 years old. It was only about a 4 month period from onset of cancer until death. In many ways he is my idol, and I try and model my way of living off of him as much as I can. I appreciate all of the kindness that has been directed my way, but I'm not suffering nearly as much as my Grandmother, who he left behind. I can only imagine what its like for the one you loved for almost 50 years passes away, knowing full well that you might have another 30 years ahead of you before you die.

Since then we've been taking things one day at a time, especially her. I'm the only one of his grandchildren that was unable to make the funeral, and they even left a seat open for me in spirit. I was told that it was quite the ceremony.

I find it oddly amusing and heartening though that when I look back and remember him I can't help but smile. He was the type of guy that everyone looks up to, and even though he could barely move when I saw him less than a month ago he still effortlessly relaxed you by his attitude and demeanor. I will surely miss him until the day I join him.



Now, oddly enough I'm actually in a good mood, and it probably has quite a bit to do with my new baby. Say hello to my Charger SRT-8 peeps!

Pretty ballsy for a guy couldnt make any money, so he married into it multiple times, which oddly enough makes him the richest elected official in congress, even while he talks other people down because of their "capitilistic ideals". Then he tries to play it off by saying he was directing the insult to the current administration and not the people in uniform, but by then it was too late to redeem himself of that situation.

Hooray for tact. Glad we can play these political games so well and maturely.

Anyway, enough of politics, nothing ever comes good of it anyway.
I went to X-fest Saturday, which is an outdoor music festival they had in Kinston, NC. Saliva and Shinedown were the big bands there, and they were pretty damn good live, although I was probably most impressed with a band I hadnt heard anything from before, the Lost Prophets. Those guys from Scotland were damn good, I wanna find their CD now.

Sunday a few friends (namely ) and I headed up to Busch Gardens in Virginia for their last weekend before closing for the year. Lots of fun there, since I'm always a big roller coaster freak and it had been a few years since I last got to ride one. They also had a bunch of Halloween themed things going on, like haunted forests and houses and stuff. It was awesome, although we ended up not getting home until 0300 monday. Unfortunately I had to get up at 0530 for PT so it wasnt a fun day, although I made it through more or less intact.

Regarding the weeks worth of sketches, I'll post a poll to decide which one you all want me to finish, and here in a few days i'll take and compile the votes to get the winner. I'll probably start another week of sketches starting next monday

I'm also thinking of starting something like a webcomic, one page a week pencils only (think megatokyo, only without the insane Fred Gallagher details) I've got a page done so far, I have a few little quirks to work on but I might end up uploading the page for the hell of it tomorrow.

On to real life, most of you know I was transferred to the Military Police unit here, and I'm finally settled in. There are some benefits to it but the long hours are pretty tough some days. Luckily I was trained to talk on radios so I had no problem adjusting to the job itself, but the environment is pretty different from what I'm used to. I'll probably do this for around 8 months and then go back to my original unit here on Cherry Point. After that, I have maybe 3 months before I'm done for good.

I even got a chance to see a good friend at UC Berkley for a day while I was there. Every time I go back home its apparent how much I miss it.

Now, when I got back here in NC, thats when all the fun started. I wasnt even back a day before they told me that they were putting me on guard for my remaining time. The hilarious thing is that Im not sure if standing at the gate 12 hours a day is going to be better or worse than my normal job. From what I'm hearing though its sounding better. I'll just have to see how it goes and hope for the best.

Artwise, I'm slowly getting back into it and hope to finish the thing I'm working on now by tomorrow. If I dont finish it I'll at least upload the sketch, along with a few other ones I did on paper while deployed. I havent colored in a few months so it should be quite an experiment.

- My car had tenants when I came home, namely Yellowjackets. They were the angry stinging kind, and werent too happy when I opened the hood and found one of the so far two nests. It'll be good comic material, plus I now have a new security system (hehehehe.....)

- Due to the death that awaited me if I touched my car, It took me a while to get it out of storage. When I finally was able to try and move it, my clutch pedal went down to the floor with no resistance (not good, btw). Unfortunately, I have a hydraulic clutch and that usually means at best a line break.

Tomorrow I get my possessions out of storage, so I cant wait to see what got ruined in there. Hopefully my car is all that is wrong, but these military storage guys have so far screwed me every time I've had to use them. Im crossing my fingers the last 3 times i've just been really unlucky.

Loads of problems back home on the west coast family wise for me too. Im going to try and take care of things in real life before I delve back into the DA scene, so expect a little bit more time before you see me around. Sorry to do this right after I get back but I gotta take care of my priorities first, and family is number one. I'll post more once I get settled in and take care of things.

I've started watching anime again, because I found a huge treasure trove of it out here. Its been a long time since I've watched anything other than the occasional Naruto, but I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with a few of the newer ones. Specifically the new Ah My Goddess and Full Metal Alchemist. Still drawing, although finishing things is starting to become my biggest issue. Im thinking of just posting the lineart until I finally get around ot coloring it. I think that Toshiba Tecra M4 is the best investment I've made in a long while, I just hope its durable enough to last a long time. I've also gotten into the TV show Lost while I was out here, and DAMN that is good television.

Except yesterday, that was fun

We were tasked with tearing down dead trees, and most of them were so rotted that I could push them down by hand. Makes you feel all big to do things like that, you know? after we did all that we went out to a dump sight to drop the trees off, and we found a big afterburner assembly for a MIG. Trying to get pictures in that thing was the best part, becuase no sooner had we gotten inside it started rolling around. Much hilarity ensued, to be sure.

I try not to let too many things get to me out here, Its a waste of energy to get angry with some people for sharing theyre opinion with others. All I would ask is that if your going to go on Television and say something, do your damned research. Too many times I see somebody criticize something without knowing what theyre talking about. Freedom of speech was given to Americans for a reason, and it wasnt to make ourselves look like a bunch of inconsiderate and moronic whiners.

Enough ranting from me for now though. Everyone take care of yourselves.

There is some rumor going around here that I might be able to get a wireless internet connection out in Iraq. Heres hoping, but I wouldnt be shocked to find out that its untrue. If it is the case that I get internet then I might be on just as much (hell probably more often) than I am right now. If not however, I doubt I would be on more than once or twice a week, and then only to check messages and reply really quick to them. Im trying to find a way even then to upload images every so often, thats why I got this tablet PC in the first place. If you need to get a hold of me or you want me to see something specific, the best way is either through email or sending a note over DA. It might take a little while for me to respond but I promise I will.

I wanted to talk about anti-American sentiment throughout the world, but Im a bit tired tonight. Maybe I'll hit on that later on, although I doubt I would change many peoples minds. Mostly I just want to know why people tend to hate America. Not a perfect nation by any means, but not nearly as bad as some people would like to think. More on that when I have the motivation to type it out in a bit more detail.

I got back late last week and have been busy as hell since. Im leaving again for Iraq in less than a month so Im trying to get everything organized for that and such. Also been working on a piece of art that I'll hopefully finish this weekend, I've worked on it since I got the new gift and been trying to perfect my methods with that. Gave my old tablet to as a christmas gift so he doesnt have an excuse to never upload now

I really need to comment on some art, I have almost a month of backlogged art that needs to be looked at. I would knock some of it out tonight but I had a few drinks and I dont think any of my comments would really be intelligent anyway. So one other thing to do as soon as humanly possible is start chipping away at my stack of unviewed deviations (but not tonight )

I hope you all had at least some good holiday times these past couple of weeks, and try to have an upbeat attitude about 2006!

Im basically spending my days trying to finish christmas shopping and getting ready to deploy, so Im pretty busy. Its a nice change of pace, and to top it all off early next week I'll be going home on leave for around ten days . Spend some time with the family and friends before I go back over.

Really other than that, I cant think of anything truly interesting that happened in the last few weeks (well, nothing that would really interest anyone here anyway). I do however have to catch up on commenting before i go on leave, I have a few hundred deviations to go through. Woot for meh

Yes, Im unnaturally paranoid about some things. Especially my free time.

I also was offered anthrax yesterday. Needless to say I politely declined and then proceeded to kick the man in the head. Almost completely true, honestly!
And I got my flu 'mist' (I prefer "flu for those that are used to snorting drugs") You basically inhale the vaccination vice getting injected. Through a tube. Absolutely the epitome of shitty, I can tell you. I'd rather have the shot, and Im not a fan of large needles going into various fleshy parts.

I have a few things I need to finish, mostly gift art and little fanarts of peeps and friends that I've needed to draw forever. Might have to wait a while though, I plan on spending the weekend far away from any computer and actually enjoying it with some friends.

And now, I leave you all with a question; Anybody have any experience with tablet pc's? Im considering getting one for my next Iraq tour, I want one I can draw decent with. You know, some touch sensitivity and such.

In completely unrelated news, Shadow of the Colossus is one of the best games I think I've ever played.

I actually feel pretty good right now, I dont really know why either. Tomorrow I have to run every 5 hours or so until 0700 wedsenday morning, so that will probably suck a lot of ass. But then again It might not be bad at all. It all depends I guess.

Theyre 15 bucks a pop, all color bust commissions (her stuff is real high quality work, so its well worth it) She can do basically anything you want, human anthros you name it. I have pretty much recovered from my HD crash a week and a half ago now, which is good Also I got WoW now, Im playing a bit here and there but not nearly as much as I thought I would (good thing that is). Im trying to avoid surfing the net during the weekend, I tend to zone out in front of the damned thing and waste hours of my life doing absolutely nothing. I do however check my email almost daily, so go ahead and contact me that way if you need to during the weekend. One of these days I'll have a social life again, I swear XD

Unfortunately my old HD had everything new artwise I had started/done in the last few weeks (not much, but some stuff that I would prefer I hadnt lost), so no new art for a while like I hoped. Also lost all my Naruto episodes and Manga (had the whole effin series up to 149 dammit) and all my games. I also gotta reinstall Painter 8 and Photoshop CS before I upload anything new, so yeah..... suckage

I went and saw Transporter 2 this weekend, but it sucked pretty bad. First one was much better. As one of my friends put it, "I couldnt go more than 5 minutes without saying WTF!?!" ah well, cant win them all I suppose...

If you dont have the new(er) Weezer album 'Make Believe' get it ASAP, its probably their best album ever. GEEK ROCK!!

Then I have a couple of things to finish for friends and several other small items. Unfortunately, most extremists dont view anyone in a western country as innocent. To them we are all sinful devil worshippers that would rather play God than believe in him. They are the lowest of low, convinced that their moral superiority is excuse enough to kill any and all that even exist in such a society as the west provides. Think about it, this site is the very essence of why they want the west destroyed. To create art in any form is for some Extremists the same as emulating God, and that is an unforgivable sin for them.

As much as we would wish or hope, some, maybe even most of these people will not stop until the west is finished, not just militarily but idealogically as well. That is a truely frightning thought.

That being said Im not in a very chipper mood at the moment. Chances are I'm going to take a break of sorts, I'll post a journal once a week or so to let those that care that I'm alive, but other than probably no comments and no more viewing deviations for a few weeks, maybe even until I get back to the States. I will however be reachable via email and my livejournal, which I plan on updating and checking more often.

Off topic for a bit, anybody that has known me in real life probably know about my obsession with deloreans, but I think I finally figured out what I want to do when I get one.



At least I know Shawn would be happy

Plans are to drop a 5.7 crate hemi into the car, put a 5 or 6 speed transmission into it, and lower the front end of the car an inch (it was originally designed for this, but stupid 80s laws prevented it). This as well as a bunch of other little touches will be done before the finished product, and ultimate sleeper, are complete. keep in mind that this makes the car go from having a 130hp V6 to a 345hp V8, and thats with keeping the car under 3000 lbs.

Now I just need a delorean and lotsa cash

BTW, this is just an image I photoshopped up real quick to get an idea of what it would look like.

I talked to my family for the first time in 2 months today, which kicked ass. It was so good to hear their voices, I really need to find a way to call them on a regular basis. The shift I work conflicts with the time I could call them, so I usually dont get to call them. They actually gave me a day off today though, my first full day off since I got here, so I slept for about ten hours and then headed off around 0600 to the phones. spent a good hour and a half trying to call everyone, but it was worth it

If you notice me not commenting as much as I usually tend to, or that my comments are a little less wordy than normal, that would be because I have so much to do now when I get on the computer its next to impossible to give a credible comment on things. I do try when I get Internet watch, and have 6 hours to peruse the archives, but I seem to get that less and less. I really just wanted to say that I'm seeing quite a lot of very good artwork from you all, Its one of the things I look forward to, other than just getting back to the states

Moving slightly to the left, over heeah we have another webcomic, this one has anthros in it and I think is very well done. Updates are a little sporadic but the art and story are very entertaining. Anyhoo, probably gonna be another 4 days or so before I get a chance to get on the internet again, so I responded to comments and stuff best I can. Gonna try the journals and deviations next time

Damn, been here 3 months already, seems like a long time looking back, but it went by pretty quick. Hopefully the next 4 will go by pretty quickly too. Still trying to use my time here to be a little more creative than usual. I've gotten several new ideas and characters and such. Still wrestling with the tablet and how that works. Sometimes things I spend a few minutes on look much better than the things I spend an hour or two on. Such is art though, but I do hope to get the overall hang of the damned device soon enough. Nothing else here is happening that would interest any of you. Im still here, still trying to be active, but eh... you know how that gos.

I just remembered that today is my Dads birthday, I should try and call him. Hope hes home.

Feeling pretty horrible. I hate being depressed, it makes nothing better. I feel like sleeping forever, I havent been sleeping very well lately. Not only do I get woken up every few hours, but I also have been dreaming strange dreams lately. Its odd how much those two things can affect your attitude. Probably doesnt help that I hate my job either, or that there is no way to escape it here. I'm constantly in a state of "please dont fuck with me, Im not in the mood" with my highers, which to them seems to be a signal to push harder. Much fun for all. I suppose everyone thinks Im probably going a little insane back home, maybe I am. I really dont know, thats pretty frightening sometimes.

Hopefully I'll feel better next week.

........still here. Kinda. Trying to work on stuff, finishing stories and such. I suck at writing but I'm working on it. Biggest problem is my tendancy to rush things, which is pretty evident in my art as well, I think. Finally got the internet watch after a month or so, so I tried catching up with deviations. I failed to read all but a few of the journals, there were hundreds and Im slowly but surely running out of time. Gonna upload the one thing I've managed to draw with a tablet I ordered, but I must warn you it sucks monkey. Im not the best with all digital works, but Im trying to improve. Any and all pointers are welcome. Even stuff like "Hey, dont suck so much LOLZ!"

Im so worn out...
My week was pretty hectic, it might start to slow down tomorrow or the next day, but I doubt it. Its hard to keep track of the days sometimes...

I read some peeps journals and the comments, but I couldnt think of anything intelligent to say on anything. Most of them seem happier than usual, which is awesome in its own excellence... You know what I mean.

I got to talk to my family finally, which made my day yesterday. I was pretty happy for most of the day, it was enough to get me through the day. I also should be able to get back online for an extended period of time, but not for another week at least, probably a bit more than that. Its been really busy lately, and all I wanna do when I get of shift and finish with whatever else they make me do is sleep... damn thats lame. It looked like everyones week was better than mine anyway, so theres something good

Looks like soon this will be the last time I get to do the internet watch for a long time, maybe never again. So if thats the case, expect less comments and such on deviations and such, because thats what takes up most of my time anyway. So.... they changed the schedule on us for the internet thingy, so I have no clue when I'll be able to get a few hours and comment on everything in my in-box. Sidenote: typing with 45 lbs. of gear on is not the way you want to spend your 30 minutes of internet time a day. Just FYI, or me bitching, it doesnt really differ.
