I entered and completed a duathlon.  3.5km walk, 20km cycle, 1.5km walk to finish.

Thankfully it wasn't a 'racing' event, it was a 'get out and complete it' event, which made it much more fun and relaxed.

After years of struggling with weight issues and doctors etc etc, I'm finally on the road to better health.

We've had a few weekends away in recent times for our business, which has been great.  It's always good to get away for a few days, always nice to get home again too.

Autumn seems to be settling in pretty quickly, although in all honestly, summer felt like autumn most of the time thanks to that bugger El Nino.  I think this year we may be in for a long slow winter.

It's Saturday morning, around 8.45am.  Myself and my partner are fast asleep in bed after a late night.  The cat comes in, jumps on our bed, wakes me up briefly, proceeds to get comfortable on my stomach and we all blissfully slide back into sleep.

We're awoken some 10 minutes or so later, by a scratching noise around the roof.  Not uncommon, we get a lot of birds hopping around on the roof, so we think nothing of it.

The cat takes an interest and in doing so, jumps up to sit on the window ledge of the high window above our bed.

We continue to sleep for while, then get up and proceed with our morning as usual.

Yesterday we spent the day in Wellington with the Civil Aviation Authority, and other interested parties, discussing some possible new laws/regulations to govern the use of UAV/UAS's (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles/Systems).  Currently there's really nothing in place to dictate what we can and can't do, so we're really excited about being involved in this process from the start and be able to have some input into it all.

My day was rudely begun at 7.15am when the alarm went off.  I hauled myself out of bed around 7.30am and made myself a coffee and settled in for a day that would become highly unproductive.

I did attend a Zumba class for exercise around 10.30 am, so I can safely tick off that box at least.

I'm now a full-time employee at the juice factory (permanent staff, no longer temping).

As some of you will know, I've been going to Zumba class 3 times a week, and I absolutely love it.  If you hate exercise and always find it a drag going to the gym or working out, then you should definitely give one of these classes a try.  It's a cardio dance workout, and honestly, it's a lot of fun.  You don't have to be co-ordinated, just give it a few go's and you'll get the hang of it.  It's seriously the best workout for getting your heart rate up and getting a sweat on.
