Taking photographs is basically capturing a 3-dimensional space in two dimensions. The main principle governing this transformation is the principle of perspective, which represents the effect of a subject's space and depth in a 2-dimensional plane. The perspective effect in a photo is determined by the position it is taken from and the direction the camera is pointing. In other words, you can only change the perspective within an image by changing your standpoint.

One should always consider the composition and framing of an image before shooting. You can crop/rotate an image later, but the cornerstone of a successful image is always laid before the shutter button is pressed. It is essential to consider how to interplay between objects, shapes, lines, and spatial relations in an image can be brought together to for a suspenseful but effective whole. The aim of a good photo should be to captivate the viewer using a composition that complements the overall effect of the image.

The central element of every architectural photo is the building. The sheer size of buildings makes them very different from almost every other type of photographic subject. An architectural photographer can not only photograph the subject from outside, but can also step into the subject and capture images of its inner life. A few days ago I got back from my trip to Italy, which was cooler than I thought! :D
So I joined students from my school (mainly 3rd years and above) for a trip to Florence, Siena and Rome.

Florence was a bit disappointing. Apart from a few famous basilicas and the funny looking Old Bridge, there was nothing to see. :hmm: So much fuss around the city of the Italian Renaissance, but we didn't particularly like it. We did however go out and enjoyed a bit of its intense nightlife. I spent some nice 2 weeks, with ups and downs, but overall it was pretty cool. Went to Rotterdam for :devZienna:'s birthday party and met :devZandaa: again and also :devmarbels: for the first time. We were stuck at :devZienna:'s place the whole time since the buses weren't driving, but it was fun. We shared our Christmas presents, people seemed happy of mine, which is great! I got some sweet ones as well!

The weekend now feels like just a dream. A fantastic one. Haven't spent such great time with people since forever!

I know I said it to each one of you, but I can't help thanking you over and over again for coming to see me and share such fun moments. It's been waaaaaay better than I've ever expected.

Something new starts on Monday! I'm moving out of Paris! I'm going to live and study in the beautiful city of Toulouse, aka The Pink City! :love:

I'm very excited, but also sad to leave the city of lights and my family here. I can't really believe that I'll be living away from everyone. I got no ticket back to Paris, it's so bizarre... I must get used to the idea that my main residence will from now on be in Toulouse.
