XIII Days of Suicide

Dark Greetings,

It’s been a while since I posted anything here on Deviant Art, it’s because I was busier than ever with our thesis, the AFTERMATH exhibit, our college fair well video, The Gintong SuSi Art Organization, a lot of house parties, our graduation, and other personal matters.

But now, I’m back.

And I’ve got a lot of artworks to share; photos, videos, pencil art, oil paintings. but most of all, I of course, would want to share with you first the oil paintings. This is one oil painting that really had me in a sort of black hole that I had to seriously put all my time and energy to finish. Oh wait, did I say one oil painting? Make it Thirteen.

This is my thesis painting, the only painting I can really call my masterpiece. Well, before I unveil the thirteen oil paintings, I should at least tell you what my thesis topic and title is all about.

Thesis Topic: Suicide

Thesis Title:
“Feast of Their Flesh:
Thirteen Prominent People Who
Had Tendencies Committing Suicide Through
The Artist’s Rendition
On A Series of Oil Painting Panels”

It’s basically about Thirteen prominent people who had tendencies committing suicide. Hence there are Thirteen oil paintings, and every canvas has the size of 6ft. and 10 inches with a total of 6ft. and 130 inches if connected together. It’s pretty weak when viewed in singles, but within each painting lies objects and elements that emphasizes the individual that is in the painting. All the subjects in the painting are painted in the style of Masochism, the style I often used that has the skin of the subject ripped off. in other words, Skinned. Some objects in a painting maybe seen overlapping to the next painting, may be it a pen, whip, book, paper, gun or even one of the subject’s body part. This that not mean that the object that overlapped has no meaning entering another painting territory, it is the exact opposite. The objects will also possess a different meaning once it overlaps and is connected to the story of the individual dominating the 6ft x 10 inches painting. In this way it can all in all be viewed as a whole with all its meanings and all its difference.

This entry is entitled XIII Days of Suicide, that is because for everyday starting today, I will unveil only one painting of the thesis, In this way, viewers can focus on the paintings one at a time. And on the last day, the most important part of the painting is unveiled, it will be on the 18th of APRIL 2007. may there be instances that I might not be able to upload a piece of work, it will be uploaded the next day with two paintings unveiled that day, and so on and so forth if it continues to be out of schedule, but the final unveiling will not be missed on the 18th.

There are a lot of pictures on the internet especially on my Friendster account of the whole painting, however, it is not explained there, it would be best if viewers would wait so that the meaning and the symbolisms are explained well.

This thesis took me about one month to finish making the canvases and the primer, and two months to finish the paintings. and it was exhibited at the Beato Angelico Gallery at The College of Fine Arts and Design at the university of Santo Tomas on February 28th 2007 up to March 10, 2007. The Exhibit title is; THE AFTERMATH. A thesis exhibition of the Fine Arts Painting Students of UST batch 2007.

And now on with the paintings.

+Dark Greetings+

it's February, and every Painting student in the college of fine arts knows that when this time of the year everybody's doing their thesis, well so am i, that' why i rarely check now deviations and other stuff i use to check, my class are all so busy plannig for their paintings and their thesis book, research and planning the grand exhibit ahead, not to mention the Jury before that. + are here up until now awake painting and doing our thesis head on.

but i've manage to pull enough strength to update something on the net, and here are a couple of those things:

+ Black Wear + Dark Wear +

+ is a collection of all my Black attires, from simple shirts at home, to formal attire, from sleeveless to long sleeved shirts, from coats to rain coats. this is my collection of my Black attires.

+ i really don't want this as form of bragging that i have this many/few clothes, i merely just want to document my collection and share it to people who are interested.

+ i've seen this thing on the net where you can select your attire for a party for the night or any occassion, and your attire may be delivered to your doorstep. the principle there is you can pick which attire you want for the night on-line. only millionares have that power, so i say to my self, hay, what the heck this is simmilar to that so if i ever want to choose what to wear "on-line" i will. and i have these files on my cpu so i can choose there also with no problem and be able to save time.

+ if you're confused on why i have only black clothes, well check out my Dark Days history, at my latest entry on my Blog.

+ my blood is Black. taste it.

. Seriously. I Got Fudged. What other words could sum it up? Well okay, to elaborate, I got an interview on Fudge Magazine.

Believe it or not, a starting out artist like me, who turned his life around because of an episode of Seinfeld, was interesting to the Fudge Magazine people. I met miss Anna Gan at the first KOMIK KON in UP Diliman October 22, 2005 at the UP Bahay ng Alumni at their booth doing their trade mark Fudge Paparazi for the whole article on the KOMIK KON and and were there having a slice of comic advertisement for their November issue last year. She enthusiastically told us to advertise our comic and well, like I said, they’d put it up on one of their issues and we did so. And it was really published and to our surprise EiYa and I were really there. The article was entitled INK + PAPER the first Philippine Komiks Convention. After which, we gave her a copies of EiYa + Luci and SATANHIGH.

+ +

August 2006. My cell phone rang when EiYa and I were hanging out at my house watching TV. And guess who? It was Miss Anna, and she asked me if it was okay to interview me for the Magazine. I told her yes, absolutely. And we scheduled the interview for September 5th, a Tuesday. She told me then that I should come as I was when she sees me in conventions. I told her no problem and that would be easy, too easy. I asked her if I should bring anything, my artworks, etc. and she told me I should bring what I please to bring. I told her okay then, with a final remake she said, come as you are. And we ended the conversation. I told EiYa and she was psyched, and I tell you, we both were but, I really forgot to ask what the interview was going to be about. So I though because I was an independent comic book artist, I thought it would be an article of that.

So September 5th came. Their office was at the Manila Bulletin in Muralla St. Intramuros Manila. And I was kind of late because even though going there a couple of time in Intramuros and passing by the Manila Bulletin office a few times back, I really didn’t know the exact location of it. But alas, I came. And I found the Fudge office and I really don’t know, I had the feeling I had been there before. The feeling it gave me, how the other offices looked. I dunno I really felt I’ve been there before. But it’s not something to talk about. Anyway, when I saw Ms. Anna, she told me to come in, and I told her sorry for being late, not that I’m not always late for those who know me, but I really am sorry about it. And she told me to wait a while, and I told her I’d just be in the bathroom, changing my outfit.

I told her I wasn’t in my full Marius attire yet and so she notices and tells me where to change, the male comfort room of course. Well to tell you something with what I were and when I wear what I wear it goes like this: I was wearing all black when I arrived but I tell you, that wasn’t fit for me yet that I had plan to change my first attire from the beginning. I always do that, I come into a convention or any event, with just my Normal Black clothes with no make up, and when I can feel comfortable ( meaning not feeling the Tropical heat of our country or the from-feet-to-head-to-feet-to-head-look of people that I pass by ). I really don’t really care what people say since the beginning, it’s just that, people say stupid things when you’re different, maybe even a couple of brawls and stuff, but it’s no big deal, I just don’t want that much attention from people who don’t even know where the word “gothic” came from and tell that + I + am gothic, plus the people who ask me if I am a “thrasher” do I look like I collect garbage and destroy things? it’s these people I get irritated with, I don’t blame them though, I just think they tell what’s on their mind and don’t even think of it and just wants to make a fucking scene to be noticed. I was most of the time, being misunderstood.

Back to the main story, I get undressed in the men’s room, just beside gym. And I was just combing my hair shirtless, and that usua...

The World’s Longest Painting on Continuous Canvas Philippines

+ Sunday, August 13, 2006 +

EiYa and I went and participate at the attempt to break the current longest painting in the world Guinness record, that’s stood 2,000 meters and the country holding the record is Cambodia.

We first got the news a couple of week’s back, off our professor ma’am Mailah Baldemor, who was our thesis adviser. She always would tell about these kinds of events, to expose us to sharpen and enhance our talents. Within a couple of weeks later ma’am Joy Embolsado, one of the organizers of the longest painting arrived at UST and went straight to CFAD. Ma’am Mailah contacted me at once, telling me that I should come and make arrangements with her. I was with them a few minutes later. They talked with the Painting Department Head, Mrs. Glory Crumb-Rogers, and well, I was asked to show ma’am Joy and her friend where the Main Building in UST is so that they can give our posters of the event, after which I obliged.

We went and while walking to the Main Building, I introduced our organization, the Gintong SuSi art Organization, and I told them it would be an honor if my group could paint there. She agreed and said we’ll talk about it sometime for the right things aren’t planned yet, and they are just accepting people who can paint on their own, not by groups yet. I said well and I will paint on August 13th, which was the same day; ma’am Mailah scheduled half of the class of our Painting 4-1 section.

The 31st came, and heck, only EiYa and I where from the Painting 4-1 section, which really made some of the organizers angry. But alas, it worked out in the end; they just gave the reserved slots to someone else. Along who came there, where our professors, ma’am Mailah Baldemor-Balde, Sir. Danilo Santiago and ma’am Laforteza. There were also alumni students of UST CFAD Painting, that ma’am Mailah invited. One was Marvic. After the registration and after enough chit chat, we started painting.

There were two deals of how one can participate and paint in the longest painting attempt:

Deal One: Pay 1,000.00 Php

+ your name would be included in the coffee table book and a picture of your artwork.

+ get a free Longest Painting Attempt T-Shirt

+ get a free Longest Painting Attempt Pin

+ certificate of Participation

+ Unlimited use of acrylic paint

+ a minimum of 1 meter canvas to paint on, and the meters can expanded

+ supply your own brush

Deal Two: FREE

+ your name will be included in the official roster but not exactly at the coffee table book

+ supply your own paint

+ supply your own brush

+ a minimum of 1 meter canvas to paint on, and the meters can expanded

+ correct me if I am wrong with the details +

Any deal is actually okay, if you don’t have the money, well, just supply your paint and you can come back for more paint plus the freebies. At first, we though there was going to be food in the 1,000.00 we gave, but it was just a misunderstanding, leaving EiYa and I hungry while painting, having not eaten lunch, and having no real breaks when painting.

Before and I started painting, I took pictures of our blank canvases. There was even this tiny spider that crawled at EiYa and when she lifter her arms, the thing attempted to make a web house for EiYa was wearing black, must’ve mistaken it for something else. I took pictures of that happening, although you can barely see the spider. After I took the pictures, I place the spider in the film cylinder, and freed it at home.

We now sketched our works, EiYa was inspired by the Japanese art of the Koi, and her approach was the same as the Japanese, she really digs that stuff. Her printed studies really helped her to paint the thing in red and yellow, even though her studies where black and white.

Though I really didn’t celebrate Halloween this year, like went to the cemetery or go to a Late Isabel gig, I found myself still at the essence of it. Sure many know me for the black attire and morbid stuff, but in ways I can’t imagine, i still get noticed still in one way or another when it’s Hollow’s eve, just by sitting at home and surfing the net. I don’t mean to brag, but the day of the dead is really a perfect day for someone with interests like me, and for people like me. It only comes once a year so I think I should do my best to make something out of this dark day.
This is somewhat related and if you like blood it spreads like hell. In this first person point of view when I recently got stabbed at the back by one of the three muggers that ganged up on me last October 4, 2006. This is my experience on the whole ordeal of having to fight for my life at the same time running home bleeding to death, this was really serious and I hope it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
Just in time for Halloween. She talks about how the mind of artists brim with darkness as the day of the dead comes closer. I don’t blame her, this is true for the most of us. Her news also contains Special effects Tutorials on how to do these realistic, morbid and wicked make-up, Photo tutorials to bring out the Mr. Hyde in your subjects.
+New Worlds Fantasy and Science Fiction Convention: Broken Time Machine+

After the exhausting Fully Booked event, I never planned nor thought to attend the day after event, July 16, 2006, which was the Fantasy and Science Fiction Convention: Broken Time Machine. But alas, we still went, along with a2? Seraph. I didn’t plan to sell indie comics of mine for two reasons; the first was, there was no booth were we could sell indies for free and the second one was, I ran out of copies to sell. My stock didn’t actually went to zero, but, it was too few to sell them and exert some effort in bringing them along.

I was lucky enough to be accompanied with an anonymous? artist? a2? Seraph, hehe, I tempted him that I would pay for all his expenses even food, coz, it would be the first time I went to a convention just by myself and would not be selling anything. I did not want to be alone there for the people I knew that were coming were still a little bit unsure. And so, there we were. He was happy too because of the RF Online booth and I think he got a lot of free stuff including an original CD installer of the game with neat packaging.

EiYa was unable to come with me yet again, but she wanted me to have a good time as always, at this point, I am popping out with stories to tell her, luckily, even though I have short term memory, I still told her everything I wanted to. iloveyou!

Another reason of why I attended this event was, I wanted to watch The Late Isabel perform, I mean c’mon, miss Wawi Navaroza personally told me about this fact, which was like a personal invitation of the lead singer. Anyway, I didn’t know they were going to perform, and I also didn’t knew that she was coming to the Fully Booked Event the day before. I was totally caught off guard with every event that was happening. The first time I had encountered the Late Isabel was at the 5th Toycon last June 17, 2006 and yet again, had no clue they were there, but as usual I talk to them after their performance, worshiping the awesome music. and yes, they really did came over, and wow, delivered a massive black heart moving performance.

A lot of people I knew where there, as usual, these events are the events that artists and comic book enthusiasts go to. Among them where; Sir Ariel Atienza, Lico Reloj of the Artist’s Den, Wilson Tortosa and Delurianne who cosplayed as Lee Loo and won 2nd Place! Congrats! , Jonas Diego Hosted the Event with Jac Ting Lim who had a choreographed fight sequence with a lot of Samurai swords. Ouch. But it was all cool. I also saw Darkmotives with Black Sakura . I also saw some celebrities which includes Rex Navarete with Michael V., Karen Kunawich. The bands that perform include Reklamo and of course, the Late Isabel. Two other bands as well forgot the names though, just remind me if you know.

We enjoyed it, it’s kind of weird not selling comics, I had “time” for myself, well, just watching and waiting and I got autographs and snapshots of people. we ate and I think I have never sat the longe...

Fully Booked and NeiL Gaiman presents; The 1st Philippine Graphic + Fiction Awards

I attended the awards last July 15, 2006 at the Rockwell Tent and I can't express in words how I felt that day. Well, I can at least tell the closest word I can think of; awesome. My dictionary isn’t that wide so.. anyway, if that word hadn't been used by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so much, it would’ve had a deeper meaning to people who hear and say it. Well, awesome is just one word, but yeah, it felt awesome to be there, and I say it not screaming, I say it with it with a period. Awesome.

Some of the things concerning this event were, having Neil Gaiman visit the Philippines a few moths or at least a year back, I forget. And the contest that Fully Booked with Neil organized here in the Philippines. With it was a prose competition and a comic book competition. Well Neil Gaiman was sure to be a judge and in his own words, he wanted to encourage Filipino to “Unrealism” and that was a really cool concept for Filipino artists and poets to play with. And you all know Neil Gaiman for his famous works on the Sandman and Mirrormask. He’s a good writer and a really nice guy, that’s what I’ve heard so far, because to tell you the truth people, I have never, read a single book of his. I kid you not. I haven’t. Well yeah, Neil Gaiman has his eye on the weird and the mysterious and almost everybody I know in the art, comic and literary word knows and adores him. It’s not that I don’t like his works, (well how can I, I haven’t read ‘em) it’s just that, when I’m ready to read them, I will. And let’s not forget the fact that, I can barely buy his books with the allowance I got. I’m a Spidey fan, and man, I can only buy comics of the webhead thrice a year.

I think another reason would be, it’s because I have a lot of ideas floating in my head right now stories that are yet to be told, sequels to the one shots and series to continue. I don’t mean to boast or to brag or anything, it’s just that, I’m content with what ideas I have now, and further reading more broad and brilliant works like Neil Gaiman’s, would enhance my stories but in doing so, I might overload with all these surreal stuff in my head and might “forget” (as usual) stories I already planned to write. Another thing is, I might “copy” his works, I might get so inspired of it that I might have alternate stories continuing what he’s already wrote, or worse carbon copying his ideas and themes that I might even forget I got it from him. I really need a lot of post it’s for this forgetful brain of mine. Still, I ain’t taking chances of that scenario happening, even to prevent this, having a Neil Gaiman book in my hands or in my property would simply be a case of putting it in my shelf and letting it sit there ‘til I find it “okay” to read.

Now back to the fully booked event.

I was enthralled by many things that happened there. But like I said, I wasn’t really into the Neil Gaiman realm that would give me interest into coming to the event. I was about to join the comic book contest, but I was always out of time, having the virtue of not rushing my comic book / art works, I didn’t force to finish it. And I was happy and content I didn’t it gained me more respect in my art work, having to suffer the consequences, I just wished I had started it on time. Though if I had rushed it, The Man from the Planet of the Masochists wouldn’t be as I had envisioned it. [link]

I was invited by Az and Ariel from the Artist’s Den to sell comic books on this booth the den had on the event. Not that I was there only to sell, I was really touched they invited me over, so I didn’t pass. I wanted to be there. To my surprise, I had, as I said, an awesome experience.

I knew there would be people who read Gaiman’s works, therefore these people had, as I’ve imagined, a taste for the fantasy and fairytale like genre, read books and were really enthusiasts of books and novels, gothic fashion, and had an open mind to the comics I was selling. But I’ve never felt so home as I felt there, I felt like I belonged there for some reason. I didn’t have to pretend I was a hardcore or just simply a fan of Gaiman, I felt those who read his works, are in the same imaginary realm I was also in. and so I was after all, in place. In addition, EiYa wasn’t with me, she was supposed to if that news about the school having to be cancelled was true, then she wouldn’t have gone home and back again. She’s just so frustrated with the experience I agreed she rested home the whole weekend. But it would’ve been great to have her along.

+BLACK PARTY V + JULY 8, 2006 +

The fifth Black Party was held at our house in Manila last July 8, 2006.

The sky was no where to be found, when you look up the white clouds seem to cry with the rain. You start to think, would that day be a good day to attend this party, as you sit there, the flood rises inch by inch.

Still I’m glad people came with their Black shirts on.

It ran through my mind that this rain was a gift. I mean, I used a Stop The Rain Spell but quite frankly, it failed because I’m the only one who chanted it. It works a lot but this time, without companions, it didn’t. so the rain poured and poured. I don’t advice anyone using these spells at all. It’ll have it’s effect, a very costly price that you’d regret you chanted it in the first place so, be responsible when that happens.

I thought of canceling the party, but it was already cancelled a few times now, to be exact, it was cancelled for the 4th time, and I was just about frustrated if it will be postponed again. The original date of it’s celebration was to be on June 6, 2006. the unholy day of the beast. But I wasn’t lucky enough to make it happen that day. Full details on how it was moved here ïƒ

People were already waiting for me at UST these were; a2? RDJ, Jim, Daniel , Kat Tan , Kat Ong , and Edgar . They where to watch the LOST marathon on my house starting on 12pm on AXN but due to the rain, it was almost impossible even to get to UST. Still they arrived and I dubbed them the first batch. We arrived at our house at 2:30pm and we were about to leave for the second batch at 3:00pm a2? Seraph was there and I was lucky enough to have him as a companion with this kind of weather.

EiYa couldn’t make it either. And the day was just sticking to it’s name more and more, it was sticking to be more Black and Black, and this was true, the sky was almost black because of the heavy rain, the water or flood in the streets were black, the mud and streets that weren’t submerged in flood were also black. And it I wanted it wasn’t planned but hell, this party was made this way, and if the forces of nature and some events are trying to postpone my day, then I just let them happen. Because it’s only once a year and I wouldn’t trade any other day for it.

We went back to UST to pick up the second batch and to my surprise a2? Biohazard + Ara were already there. And my sister Sancriti + Tejero were already at UST as well. Bit by bit, accepting things can make things alright after all.

At the CFAD org room some of the org. People were waiting for me there and I was happy to find them all dressed in black already. Both Aries and E.J.

My friend Mark promised to “bring” the third batch of people who were composed of my officers in the Gintong SuSi Art Organization. Allen, Yehng Chesca, Kira, Biacna, Gerry and the other Gintong SuSi members that are always there for the org which include; Bel and Clare and of course Mark and Daryl. Mico and Grace were in UST but was unable to attend but thanks so much for the greetings!

The second batch was composed of a2?
+Mt. Makiling + I Shot the Sky+

I attend the Anvil CFAD LTS at Mt. Makiling last June 22 – 24, 2006. surely enough it was about training you on how to be a great leader and yeah, I think I learn a lot about team work and leadership thus proving this experience effective and at the same time fun.

There were these talks by some well respected people along CFAD. There were also games and a lot of stuff that had just the right elements on how to be a great leader and how to manage your organization, or in this case your team. Of course there were also tests on how to improve yourself, how to get you focus and to get you through enough pain and determination to finish something. Yup all those things, we went through a series of boy scout training tests, obstacles courses, scavengers hunts, bonfire group by group shows, all of that, they even threw in a rock climbing test there. All in all it was all worth it and we had fun.

I congratulate the CFAD student council for doing their great job! I salute you guys!

I was supposed to be with EiYa but she couldn’t come, so I was with Eyesman most of the time and I even bought one of his film, thanks for everything man. I was also with EJ, Nic and Lich. Thanks for the company you guys, what ever happened in our cabin, will stay in the cabin, remember that. Please. 

But leaving my home for a couple of days and being one with nature for a couple of days would not only mean a break from the usual college life for once, but it would also mean that I saw beautiful landscapes and sceneries, and it was after all a mountain, and I had a great deal shooting clouds having this high in the ground. Yes, my mind was to rest from school and home life, but my artistic side, the side that knew what was beautiful among the composition of land and sky was always active. And I am so proud I brought my bulky F55 Manual cam, in these conditions, something as manual and as bulky and as old school as this, is a great thing to bring. Worth the trouble and the shots are really worth it if you can keep your hands still. Up until now, I haven’t bought a flash for my baby, but it doesn’t stop me from capturing the most beautiful clouds I’ve ever encountered.

Some of the shots include a straight in the face sun shot. That would eventually do some damage on a manual cam. Some are shots of the theater they had there, gr. I forgot where we stayed in Mt. Makiling. But never the less, some of the viewers of this series would eventually figure out and would kindly state where I had been. Other shots are shot of lampposts, I just love shooting these babies for some reason since I’ve started in photography. and the rest of my shots are just plain cloud shots, I love the clouds, I really don’t know why, I just love the contrast of white and blue with the shade of gray and a beam of the sun. idunno. I love it. And you’ll get full of it in this series.

Though I wasn’t able to get some shots in the forest, in my fear of ultimately destroying my bulky manual camera, I left it in the bus while we were climbing the boy scout ropes and walking in the forest sliding and lying through mud. A really great experience but also exhausting.

Now I present to you the Mt. Makiling Photography Series entitled: +Shooting the Sky+

+5th Toys Hobbies + Collectibles Convention 2006+

Saturday June 17-18, 2006 SM Mega Mall Mega trade Hall 2

The 5th Toys Convention was held last June 17-18 and i was able to sell my Un-Manga Comics at the Artists' Den Booth, where i always hang around in every convention or event there possibly is.

A lot happened, as usual The 6 were there, well, we were just 5 actually, EiYa , Ara , Jette, Jonx and me . i sliced 4 of my fingers to bleed some blood for interested buyers that were sadistic enough to want them in their comics. The Late Isabel performed and i wasn't able to get some "good" shots, though i almost used all my film on them. but i managed to get a shot together with miss Wawi, and man, i acted like a damn child around her up for some black ice cream (if ever a black colored ice cream exists, tell me.) i was jumpy and i dunno, i just was so happy i got to talk to her and i gave her some copies of The Man From The Planet of The Masochists [link]
and SATANHIGH sin4 [link] .

Among the things that happened were;

+ Trigger from the Art Asylum visited the artists den booth and checked out some art works of the den people, i gave some comics to him too. Hehe, thought I was a lady at first.

+ first time in a convention where i bled 4 fingers, i may advance on the up coming cons here, and might put blood accidentally to people's comics even if they don't want blood on them.

+ the Launch of the one shot Un-Manga The Man From the Planet of The Masochists. sold pretty darn well, and had a lot of surprised artist, coz, they didn't knew i could draw like that. [link] it’s practically because this kind of style eats a lot from me time and concentration, it’s a good this it’s a one shot. I told them that I can do this and could also do the “manga” style anytime, and I choose to use it because it best fit style for SATANHIGH, Anonymous? etc.

+ a celebrity, i forgot her name, she was with this guys, another celebrity, Dindong Dantes, i think her name is Karyle (sorry if i get it wrong) and she was just there with he guy and all these people buzzing around where ever they go, and then they stopped over to the booth it's because it was beside this Superman Fan art exhibit and the guy was one of the judges (i think) and this miss came to us, she looked at the booth and me, and then i just asked her while i was standing there, "wanna buy some comics?" and she brings out her wallet/coin purse and says, "how much? does it really have real blood in it? why?" yeah all of those, then i say, "yeah, it's sorta like my signature somewhat. that'll be 35 bucks." and i think i sold her another comic book EiYa and Luci 1 i think, i forget. but she was smiling all the way and i'm glad she bought comics and i have a picture with her from Anna i still haven't gotten a copy yet but i'll post it here asap.

+ first time i ate rice inside a convention. no kidding, every time there's a convention, i forget to eat, if i wanted to, i couldn't, i'm so busy selling comics or convincing people to buy them and looking at convention friends (convention friends- meaning we only get to see each other at conventions and other events, but still considered friends after wards and outside the convention of course) art portfolios, that i really wish i could have some time to eat like i always eat when i have time, eating with pleasure. <img src="http://e.deviantart.com/emoticons/d/devil.gif" width="15" height="18" alt=">:)" title=">:) (Devil)" /> i barely have time to have a take a look around sometimes, but this time, considering it was two days, on day 2, i ate. it was inside the convention area, so it was "legal" it was always "illegal" to bring in food noticed by the guards. so i ate this low priced but still very delicious Rice meal with afritada and veggies, just for 50 bucks. and i also had a big red iced tea for 25 buck...

I Pick Up Cats.

no, no, no, don't think of somewhat of a hooker that i pick up at at night, and don't get even close on thinking about beastiality. no man, sorry if you had to picture things in your head that are unpleasant. well, i meant literarily, i pick up cats, kittens if you must. i was just walking home, earlier at around 1:am and i noticed a white kitten, it was thin, thin enough for me to know that it wasn't eating enough food as it should. i stopped for a while, the kitten looked at my shoes, and a flashback from my childhood days, well, flashed, i remebered i used to pick up kittens like these when ever i see one... but for me then, the main reason, was unrealized, i may have picked it up because i thought it was cute, or chubby or black. but now, i've realized something, i picked up those kittens for a reason, maybe subconsciously, i dunno, but i think it's because i knew back then, i could nurture it. i could take care of it, give it food when it's hungry, water when it's thirsty, give it a ball of sorts to play with, give it a rag for a comfy night, and a place to call home. i knew i had that, because i myself is experiencing it, my parents gave me everything, from food, water shelter and some if not, much more toys. and i felt them caring for me, i picked those kittens up because in that young age i understood what help is, that i can give it to them. back then, i used to kill cats, but that's another story.. point is, this kitten, the one i was staring at right now, is unfortunate. unfortunate because, his fate is this. it's as good as it gets, he or she is still alive, and expects food from someone who'll probably axidentally drops their meal. but he can grow up like that, he is really unfortunate because i, i didn't pick him up like i used to, and i walked away from him and went home. i left him because i knew, that if i picked him up, i had to pick up every single kitten in this world, ever time i see a kitten that could use a little bit of my blessings, i had to pick it up. but no, i didn't. this was the same reason i never picked up kittens or cats again back then. what change can i give this kitten? will i only make it fat, will i only make it worse for him? or will i make his death later, pusponed for a few days, or maybe yet, i might make it earlier? the point is, yes, we can make a difference, but i won't, and that's because i have a choice. and maybe, this kitten didn't choose to be here, in this position, or maybe picked up by me. i dunno, all i know is, i've made my choice. i can make a difference, but in reality, i can't control his life, he would die, even if i interfere or not. that is the truth. same goes for anyone, who asks for my help, in the streets, yes, i can help you, with my spare food and change, i can, but for how long? i can help people now, i can ensure their food, as long as i am ensured correct? this goes to the analogy that, i you picked up the kitten, you might as well let a beggar in your house and let him live there.. i believe i, we, can change many lives, but can we save all of them? no. just like the kittens you see in the streets, perhaps even your entire stock of american dollars is not enough for everyone in the streets. and what choice do you have left? besides taking your life because of a emotional breakdown? you, let them be, you will start to focus, that you can only help them by leaving them alone, that the only help they can get, is from theirselves. the kitten might find food if he looked in the garbage, or hunts for mice, not your average happy meal right there, but he can still keep the mouse as a toy. he can also shelter himself, he would be agile, god has given this skill so he could jump and climb high to somewhere he can spend the rest of his night safe. there might be no one to love him for now, but later on, by showing his strength, he soon will. well, as a big bonus for those who loves happy endings, i believe that cat would live. live longer even, because he can hunt with a more trained sense, not just served in a platter or fishing in the aquarium. he will experience pain and suffering, like most of us have, instead of just getting fat and stealing food off the table, and he can endure things to come, not just hug a teddy bear thats name if translated in Filipino Language is the female sex organ. point is, if a cat can make it in this world, naked and uneducated, why can't a beggar can't? so i rest my case here. that they don't really need my help, for food or shelter, they are the real slowpolkes and couchpotatoes, all they do is to sleep whereever they want, watch freely at the nearest television store at the window, and leave their hands open, and walah, instant money. i would rather ignore them. i'll tell you who'd i help, someone whoe doesn't asks for money, i'd help someone who asks me for them to give them a decent job, a chance to live a normal life, any one who can say that all he need is a good pair of dece...

i've nothing much to say, i'll just b greeting ewverbody else a Dark HalloweeN, it really doesn't make a diference with some of the peopLe i know, for some, everyday is a halloween, not because they wear black, or put on make up, but it's because they wear masks, or are frightened, or have this fucked up "alone" feeling... but HalloweeN is really not a time for fun, they only make it one, so some people don't get scared, others, embrace it, i dunno why, as i've said, HalloweeN can be an everyday event for you, it's a day for the dead, so just let it be that, if someone dead visits you, then it's something you'll have to be proud of and not scared of, this just means, they love you, or they want to be reminded, if eviL forces visit you, then, i can't do anything about it can i? it's your problem, not mine, becuase i really don't consider it to be a probLem.

here's to those who want something out of the HalloweeN, a special thanx to a2? RDJ. a gory music video, of the anonymous? artists? be patient on downloading it.
The Dead Artist by: Anonymous?

Journal Entry: Thu May 19, 2005, 4:13 PM

At a museum, a museum that was built in tribute of a dead artist, a boy wanders around without care and finds him before an artwork like no other. It was a sculpture, a sculpture of a man. But it was so real that it almost as if it was a real person bathed with silver. And boy was about to touch the painting and a man stops him. The man asked, “Have you no idea what lies in this art work?” the boy replied, “I have no idea!” and the man respond, “It seems you have the time so I will tell you this master piece’s story.”

“There was once this artist that was unable to sell his paintings. Not that that they were worthless or bad, it’s just that people never took the time to appreciate his works.
His girlfriend, whose favorite painter is Vincent Van Gogh, reminds him that when Vincent was still alive only sold one painting. But now he’s dead, his paintings are priced at the millions!”

“Suddenly it came to him!”

“What if he fakes his death and tells everyone that he is? Would that increase the possibility of people buying his works? And as soon as possible he and his girlfriend set his plan into motion! He faked his own death and told every body that he committed suicide. Not his close friends, family or the media was to know that he was only hiding. And soon, the news got around and their plan worked as to his paintings have sold out!”

“And for a long time, he got frustrated of hiding and eventually got bored because of his boundaries. He told his girlfriend that he wants to be the free and does not want to hide anymore. He wanted to see how people would react upon knowing that he is alive and well.”

“So they had a press conference and he came out to the public. The people where shocked to see him and soon got angry. The artist was shocked of the crowd’s reaction. The crowd demanded their money back and shouted that they will file criminal charges if not. The artist explained that there is no law on what he has done and so they have no right of their refund.”

“The crowd got more angry, and so they attacked the artist, but he fled and all, even the police and media chased him and he ended up cornered at a nearby metal factory. Inside he was at the edge of a ledge below a metal mixer. And right there and there, he decided to give it all up, to commit a real suicide for all the people to see so that the money they wanted wouldn’t be taken away from him and his girl friend. He looked at her girlfriend who was at the bottom and shouted, “I love you!” And he jumped into the melting metal.”

PLATE PAINTINGS

This is a new born batch of Luci's art. it's entitled;

PLATE_PAINTINGS

it's basically a new set of ART that focuses on painted art by the means of OiL paint, Arcryllic paint and Water color. well, basically, this set of oiL paintings and Acryllic paintings for the first batch of Plate Paintings are only a reprodution of some of the Masters of Painting. namely, two of my favorite painters who ever walked the Earth; Rebrandt and Van Gogh.

why are these all reproduction? well, my professor at COMPO (Composition) Prof. Ducat, told us that none of us aren't "that" good at oil yet, we have yet to learn so many before we could paint what we really want, and it's still a long way to go before we trully express ourselves in oil (well he didn't say that exactly, but what the hell, it meant the same. ) anyway, he then told us to bring pictures of the Masters' works, like Rembrandt, Dali, and anyone who practiced oil and Realism. he wanted us to reproduce it for us to learn from what they experienced, it's like feeling through their art and studying it as you paint, that's what i did, i visualized and internalized that i was Rembrandt (as if) for a while, and then i started to paint, i covered my art with BLack Acrylic paint and after that, i painted. and walah! a close enough reprodution of the Master's work.

although none of Rembrandts art are a match of mine, he's paintings are unique, and trully no one can match with him in this world. the reproductions that we did was for a learning experience, and that was our profesor wanted us to do, to learn, and drink coffee. but the point is, he showed us we can be not good as the Masters, but he showed us a way where the Masters Left off.

i hope these Plates of mine inspire everyone to look back and study the masters as well.
my search for Personality, style and death.

i have a lot of experience in art, i'm not bragging by saying that, what i mean by that is, i've been throught alot by doing art, and through the years of having mistakes, unproportioned anatomy, and irregular shapes, i still had success on some of my works.

and now, i would like to share some of my OLD WORKS through DA, i'm calling these set of themes as OLD_ART, as i will upload some of my old Art back in second year highschool, imagine and compare the improvement (if there was any) after 4 grueling years. the mediums are at random, i've used many and some are experimental, i've used, as of now, pen and ink, digital art, a photocopying machine art, silk screen art, oil painting and painting on a scupture art.

so i hope you would always keep in mind that these following art through the week are old art of mine, i just want them to be viewed and remembered as i soon turn 19. ahaaha!

“The next day, they found an exact replica of his figure. It was his final art work, and the family decided that it would be his final resting place and so they kept it. The kid in disbelief ran away from the mysterious man upon knowing that the thing he almost touched was a corpse. The man looked away as a girl, the girl friend of the dead artist, comes in, she manages the museum now.

Suddenly, the man kissed the girl and is revealed to be the supposed dead artist. The artist faked his death twice. He is now a rich man with a loving fiancé and nobody suspect that he was still alive for no one would accuse of a same thing twice. And the supposed corpse on the wall was in fact his own work for he specializes in metal sculpture!
The End.
The Black Heart by: Anonymous?

I am evil. I do not know why I have the urge to be immoral sometimes. I have pity no one. I really am sarcastic. And I enjoy watching people die. I haven’t really killed anyone yet. But I warn those who cross my path for I always bring my heavy duty sharp blade cutter. I watch people in the dark allies get mugged and get killed. But I felt no mercy. I enjoyed it. And so it had become a hobby. I video tape these events not to tell the cops but for my personal enjoyment. I am really a different person from all, and yet I still manage to have a girlfriend.

She is very meek and sensitive, I think she loved me this way and the way I am. Step by step, I changed her likes and dislikes, anime music to heavy metal rock, Christian art to Abstract Surrealism, Bright colored Shirts to All black attire. Truly I have changed her a lot. But one thing is in my way of her for being my perfect match. Her heart isn’t Black. She cries when she sees me kill small living creatures. She stops me when I get into fights. And she often gets angry when I make her watch the video tapes I took.

She is weak! I told her that she is of no use to me anymore if she continued this. But I am amazed that she still stays as my girl even though I have never said I Loved her, not even once.

As I final act, I told her I would leave her if she did not meet my desire. And to my delight, she finally agreed. And what I did was, I made her watch the video tapes that I took. Full of blood and gore, real deaths and real crimes committed intentionally. When you watch just one clip of these videos, your mind will turn and get twisted, your eyes will burn in fear, and you heart will turn into Black. I let her watch all the tapes I ever took. And while she watched, I told her not to shed a single tear and to watch every second of it. And she did, and I could never understand why she obeys me.

She sat there, watching the videos, I could feel her aura engulfed with hatred, I could feel her trembling veins as she hold tight her black handkerchief, and I could feel her being my perfect Lilith. Soon, the tape has stopped, and the videos were all done. I asked her if she was ok and in a cold different voice she said, “Yes I Am” and I said, “Good.” Her eyes where red, perhaps she tried to stop her falling tears. I stood her up, and as I look at her she was almost perfect. One glance you’ll know she has a Black heart. And one more test will do the job. I told her to slew a pig with my own Black cutter. And she said, “Hand me the Cutter…” and I did. I leaned down and pulled the small Black pig forward, and when I looked at her, I found out that she had buried the Blade of my cutter all the way through my heart, my Black and Evil Heart, and pulled it back. She has killed me, punished me for the evils that I have done and done to her! She didn’t cry, just like what I wanted. She looked in my eyes and her face of no emotion. She truly has transformed into one heartless being as I bled throughout the room. I fell down due to blood loss, I looked at her and held her in the legs and said, “I am sorry for turning you into a monster… I- I Love You.” and then I never closed my eyes ever again. She dropped the cutter, and she broke down in tears.

Man! just this past 3 years, i started to draw human figures, and well, i picked-up on anime style. and now at the present... im really good! i mean i mastered it! you can tell by looking at my work. but last 2 weeks or so... i joined to this seminar, it wasn't new in fact i joined it a couple of years ago twice. the thing is, when i showed my works, the agent didn't get impressed. he told me that it was the same stuff that he used to see everyday on hundreds if artists... but he did take one of my un-manga, and decided to publish it soon. the point is, i'm now trying to master western style... at the same time trying to invent and master my un-manga style!
