yesterday, i finally had the chance (or the guts, if you wanna see it that way) to hit an old, deserted beer-brewery in the northwestern part of my hometown, düsseldorf.

for quite some time now, everytime i left düsseldorf using the freeway, i saw this awsome ruin of the old "garzweiler-alt" brewery (düsseldorf has lots of beer-brands) and i always wanted to go there to take some photos.
so these days, a friend of mine, who is spending a voluntary year in israel, came back to düsseldorf for one week and together we finally found a hole in the barbwirefence to break in.

the problem is, that the whole site isnt isolated but in the midlle of a housing area on the west and an office-complex on the east, both of them having an overwiev about huge parts of the terrain.
and you know: in germany the probability of finding some old fella, who has nothing else to do than staring out of his window and calling the cops once in a while, is slightly higher than in other countries...

but at the end, everything went well and we spent some evening hours exploring the area and taking photos. the whole site is just amazing:
you got two big buildings with about 6 to 9 floors, several deserted yards, several huge warehouses and a lot of industrial rooms were the tanks and brewerymachines were, before the closed its doors.

you got water dripping from the ceilings, a flooded basement (which totally looks like one of the typical half-life 2 sewer maps) birds housing in the rooms (which can scare the shit out of you when they suddenly fly over your head) and a hell of a lot of düsseldorfs grafitty-scene. and the place is totally fucked up - there is not one single window in the whole complex, which is not shattered.

the whole thing is like every little boys dream about the perfect adventure-playground.

i loved it.

i dunno if the pics are any good - but i'll definitly put some of them into my "scraps" category.

nothing interesting to say though, but the last entry was just too crappy.

in fact, since my last journal entry, i had one of the happiest times in my life.
and although the source of this happiness has provided me a lot of fear and sadness these last few days, i still am so happy, that my life changed in this direction - and that it will (with a little bit of luck) will continue to pursue this direction for a longlong time. maybe even a lifetime.

hope i'll find the time to do more photographs, so i can start to upload sth. again.

hey everyone!

never thought i would have a dA-account of my own, but since i have become quite creative these days and started doing more photographs, i finally try to join this community.

dunno if its common to describe yourself in your first journal entry:

i'm a twenty year old guy from western germany - the alternative/left-wing-type i guess.
at the moment i am spending my time driving ambulances through my hometown because when you are male, young and healthy (and the system sayz that i am!) you either go to the army for 9 months (fuck that!) or you do something which is more or less useful for society - like i chose to do.
anyway i will be done with that in two months and than i will spend some lazy months before going to college in octobre. - medicine, psychology, neuro-science, physics, philosophy - no idea, but i am thinking hardly.

i wouldnt describe myself as an artist. i am just a kid who has his creative moments from time to time and who hopes some of you will like the results of these moments.

thats it i guess

~ans3lm

PS: since i have lots of stuff to do at the moment, it will take some time for me to upload things.
and dont laugh about my english, just blame it on the german school-system!
