So people may have noticed (or not ) that I've been relatively less active for the last few months than I normally have been on DeviantArt. Well, my university just told me that they accepted my proposal for a Ph.D. and my Master's advisor just told me that I should be able to finish my Masters in one more semester! So for the next 6 months at least, between work and two degrees, I'm gonna have no time to myself to draw anymore . The though depresses me, but I decided to come up with another project to keep myself from getting too caught up in nothing but school. For the last 9-10 years, I've had ideas flowing through my head about a sci-fi story I'd like to put into writing. However, I've never undertaken anything in writing as large as I'm hoping the story will be and I've never been very good as an English writing student. So to prepare myself, I'm going to start writing another smaller story. Its gonna be a zombie story (another idea I've been thinking of for a couple of years) and I'm hoping writing it will help me flesh out how I need to improve as a writer before I try to take on the sci fi story. Hopefully, some of you will follow it (I'll be posting it here as I write it) and with any luck, other people will discover it and critique it!

Happy Holidays to everyone on DeviantArt!

It seems like only a few days ago, I was lamenting the fact that the combination of full time work and full time Master's degree leaves me very little time to think of new ideas and even less time to actually draw them. Now here I go dropping the Master's in favor of (if I can get it approved) a PhD. The downside seems that the additional work would make it harder still to get some drawing time in, but the upside may be that the lack of additional coursework required might give me just a little bit of time to do something...

Damn...days off cannot come soon enough! I need a long nap!

Not only that, Harper Collins is going to try to publish a second posthumous novel that he was only 1/3 of the way through, by hiring a co-writer to work off of the foundation he has already set and the path that his notes follow!

I was drooling at the prospect of at least one posthumous publication, but 2 is more than I could have dreamed for. Almost makes it feel like he never left us...

After a month of using my spare time to archive all of my current sketches, scan them through the computer and re-archive the digital copies, I've finally started moving them into a digital gallery here on DeviantArt. Looks like its going to be a larger task than I thought it would and it's going to take me a bit of time. I'm tired right now, so I think I'll hold off till next morning (or actually this morning in about 5-6 hours here) to finish inputting all of the rest of my sketches. Once that's done, I'll probably start adding additional notes to each sketch one by one and as I do so, I'll remove the watermark from the fullview for each as well. I'm going to try my best to keep up with any comments, suggestions, etc but it may be a while before I finally get into the flow of things.

Thanks to everyone who's already started viewing and tagging my stuff! It makes me feel good to know that I can find an audience somewhere on the internet, and I hope to be able to browse all of your galleries soon enough!
