Sometimes I hate it when I get flashes of "OMG that would be awesome!"

Mainly because I don't know where to start!

So seeing some Mucha inspired work (and well, me being me and loving anything Mucha related) has inspired me. Right now I have Dance matted on my wall, and have been looking for prints of Painting, Poetry and Music so I can complete The Arts set.

Then I thought of something, what if I did a Modern Mucha set, get some of my gorgeous friends (I really am blessed ~_^) find some Mucha appropriate architecture in SF or something and recreate The Arts. I'm thinking of going with subcultrues, some hip-hop, goth, rockabilly and punk. Make Music rock out to a ipod, Poetry might be the goth one with a journal, and so on and so forth.

So yeah, now that I have that idea, and took the time to write it down (so it doesn't dissapear into the aether) I'll have to see about actually doing it.

So I got to put up my very first not-a-photograph piece of art here on DA.

I got crafty with a friend of mine who has a ton of great scraps for ATCs. She and her boyfriend have been making them for a while and they both have made some really cool ones and I've always wanted to try, so since I was there this weekend we sat down and got crafty!

Now I think I'm addicted.

On my drive home I kept thinking of stuff I have that I could use for ATCs.

They're great, especially since I've been looking for more creative outlets that don't require a whole lot of time (since that's pretty rare lately)

I just need to clean my desk off and get all my potential cool ATC stuff together.

There will be more, and if you're a real-life friend of mine, you will be assimilated, it's a lot of fun!

So today my friend Alex volunteered to be my victim in my quest to figure out all the crazy settings (seriously, there's a setting for 'food' and 'baby 1' and 'baby 2' [I don't know what the difference is yet..) on my new camera. Since my old point and shoot took a nasty fall down a flight and a half of stairs at FanimeCon. But there's a few examples from my experimentation in my gallery, and we found a bunch of spots that we'll be going back to in daylight hours at the SSU campus.

You see, by the time we were done playing with clothing hair and makeup, the clouds started rolling in and the sun started going down, so we had little to no natural light.

Still got some good stuff though, so all in all, a productive evening. :-D

What can I say, I'm a sucker for creative outlets. Most of my work is in photography, allthough some of my costuming may end up here as well. I used to do a lot of drawing and painting, but for some reason I slowly stopped. Perhaps I'll start it up again, but that requires several things, the key ones being time and money. Space factors in there as well, but mainly time and money

I currently want to work more on portraits, in addition to figuring out all my crazy settings on my new camera (which is sadly still a digital point-and-shoot, but I think I can manipulate it enough to make it work for me, someday I'll get a DSLR, but that requires that elusive little bugger money.)
