Smooth Sailing Ahead
Been a while since an update, so it's time to hit on a couple of things.  First, it's probably been one of the best times of my life and for the first time in a long time, I'm not bullshitting about it.  After this rough patch, the stars are apparently all lining up, for once.  Job's been swell (the people suck,but it's fun, I'm not gonna lie).  I'm getting a new personal office and entering into a really amazing program.  

I used to live with so many personal doubts, so many insecurities...  Not anymore.  Never again.

Lately I've just been busy with a bunch of projects.  I recently quit my job and am in transitions to another one-it's just been a hellish place.  I had to play mediator to a lot of drama and it really just wore me out-it's a really long and boring story, so I won't go into it.  My former co-worker almost ran to EEOC to file discrimination lawsuits against our previous supervisor, so you know it's pretty bad.  By leaving, I've pretty much destroyed that department.  Not planning on going back, ever, unless there's a supervisor title and +8 more dollars an hour.

We left at six AM to get to our destination.  At the door, I engaged a power loader in fisticuffs to guarantee my entry.  That was my mentality the entire day, with the exception of my constant inner alcoholic calling to me, pestering me like a small child on a road-trip, "Eddie!  Where's the beer!?  They said there would be beer here!"

At 7 dollars a can, I was quite the bereaved driving father.  Jokes aside, let's move on.

An interesting time, nonetheless.  Took many pictures, met many new friends, old acquaintances and other people who I shouldn't mention, but will, because I don't really care.

I quit.  All I have desired my entire life was some semblance of success and a small, minuscule bit of happiness.  But for most it seems these are just pipe dreams.  To be brutally honest, there is only despair.  I've been there.  I'm stuck there.  The silver lining is really just a faint vapor on the horizon.  There are things I must deal with and there is no time to which there can be set.

I've been extremely busy, stressed and other things.

Actually, I've been going extremely pants-on head nuts, lately but I believe I finally have everything under control.  For a brief time, I was seriously considering that one "an hero" option.  It's still there bugging the hell out of me, but I don't think it will happen.  With what's transpired and what I've blown it up into, I've alienated myself from some friends, wrecked a friendship and done far more damage that the original thing itself, ever was.  I don't think I've ever drank so much alcohol in the last 3 months ever in my life.

The cosplay picnic(http://www.myspace.com/epcosplayparty) had, had a much higher turnout than expected and the weather suprisingly turned in our favor.  MAGICALLY.  Overall, we had about 120 including staff, so it was pretty good for a first time event, though I think we were all on edge because it had been raining mad that week.

I wanted to shoot a thanks to :iconberrymon: who originally pushed the idea and the :icont-e-c-p-o-t-w: at me and then later on convinced me to keep working on it when I was about to give up.  So if you had fun, you should thank her for the idea and for making me not be lazy!  lol

THE A-KON NIGHTMARE
I'm still trying to find something positive to say about A-Kon.  I've been pushing around words like a busy librarian, trying to sort my thoughts and resubmit an edited article UpcomingCons.com to put the convention in a better light, but I cannot find anything to say.  A-Kon wasn't a terrible convention (people will remind me it had a ten percent increase), but to me, it was the same thing jumbled together with a fresh coat of paint.  I've noticed that the anime industry just seems to be less and less prevalent there (lack of industry-related booths and promotions).

My friend and I were talking and we decided that we'd definitely LOVE to attend Onicon again this year if we can.  It was definitely worth the trip, the location and the people were very endearing to me, despite the racist Whataburger.  :P

I've been absorbed with a film photography class developing negatives from rolls of film and making those negatives into prints.  Ilford 400 Black and White film and Ilford paper.  It's a fantastic process and very rewarding when you see a completed product that you have walked through all the steps.  Something about it just makes me feel more fulfilled while I'm developing the film and the prints.  I'm loving it more than digital, in a many number of ways.

Luckily, the battery was put in the charger before sleepytime.  For the first two hours, unbenkownst to me, the Image Stabilizer was switched to off so it was a mix of good and bad shots, composition aside.

I also measure a convention's success by the number of pictures I take.  LCAD did pretty good.  Glad to see some of my OtakuMex/SWACE friends whom showed up, Izumi, Nya, Katie and OnigiriNeko ]]>
