The gist of it is, fame is fleeting and unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Most of DA could take a great lesson from this passage. Ok, I saw Star Wars Episode 3 last night... it could've been good with better dialogue, better directing, and better actors (Hayden Christensen couldn't act his way out of a paper bag, good lord). I never did see Episode 2, but I don't think I missed much. Anyway, the one thing that stuck out to me most was...

The scene right after Darth Vader gets all suited up and Darth Sidious tells him he killed Padme... and he like, breaks out of the table thingy and stumbles forward and goes "NOOOOO!"...
That has to be the WORST scene in ANY movie I have EVER seen. EVER. I mean, come on! My boyfriend and I just started cracking up in that scene. He goes all Incredible Hulk and breaks out of the bonds... then stumbles forward like Frankenstein's monster... then does this awful "NOOOOO!" just, like, standing there. God it was bad. You have to see it to realize just how BAD it was. Incredibly bad.
There's a few other things about the movie, but I'll just say one more thing.
Yoda fights like a Super Ball. Bouncy bouncy! Woo! Go Yoda!

Ok, enough Star Wars talk.

So, I was wandering around the UCen on campus yesterday and saw the bookstore was having a sale, so I was browsing some of the art stuff that was on sale and I found this complete watercolor set. It includes watercolor paper, 5 watercolor brushes, 6 tubes of watercolor paint and a palette. And guess how much it was.

$10! So of course I had to have it. Almost bought a complete charcoal set, too. Anyway, so I plan to be experimenting with watercolors in the near future. If anyone could give me some tips, tutorials, tricks, techniques, other stuff that starts with t, I'd be grateful, as I don't know how to use watercolors, like, at all. Anyway, I'm excited! Yay paint!

What To Do
1) If you find a piece of art that looks suspiciously like another artist's, send the original artist a message informing them of what you found. This gives them the option to either note the person for credit or report them.

2) If you find a piece of artwork that is a direct copy of another artist's work, report the theif immediately and send the original artist a note informing them that the person stole their art.

3) If you are unsure whether it is a theft or not, you can always send the original artist a note to ask their opinion. This way they are informed, whether it be theft or a fluke.

So, death by science. As if that's not enough, now I'm volunteering at the Marine Ecology lab, which is great because I'll be getting research experience and connections, but it's also more of my time and more science. And next quarter, I have a whole bunch of morning classes, and I HATE mornings. If I had my ideal schedule, I would never know that the sun didn't just appear at it's zenith at around noon. So, I'm going to have to start going to bed at a more "decent" hour, which means less communication with some of my online friends.
As for my life now...
I just signed up and paid money for a Ballroom Dancing competition in San Diego in March, which is very exciting. I love Ballroom more than I ever thought I would. It's funny how I started simply because the Ballet class was full and now it's one of the highlights on my week. Now, just because I say competition, don't think I'm great or anything. I'll be competing at the very lowest level, and I've only been dancing since last April or so. But it will be a lot of fun, and hanging out in San Diego with the other competitors and watching the competition will be fun.
As for my social life...
What does it mean when a guy friend says to you "I'd say forget about him, but that would only make you want him more... so go for it" about one of his friends? *sigh* Just my luck. I need to quit falling for the ones that are totally wrong for me.
On the upside, my roommates and I are having a PJ party this Friday, which should be loads of fun, and we're going to Cal Poly for Mardi Gras on Saturday! [Edit: Looks like the Cal Poly thing may not work out... we'll see. Sorry if you see this twice cuz of the edit...] So, looks like a fun weekend, hopefully to get my mind off things.

I'm so mad at my stupid Stats professor right now. I had a midterm in Stats on Friday, and right before the test started, this stupid ass guy sits next to me with the same color test I had (same version). Now, the whole point of the different tests is so that they're NOT next to each other so no one can cheat. But I was just like, whatever, cuz the test was starting. So I angled my body away from him and started my test. A few minutes into it, the professor came over and told ME that I had to move because my test was the same color as his! I was just like, whatever, I'm not gonna make a big deal in the middle of the test, but then, she moved me to three different places all over the room because the desks were broken, and I was carrying all my shit and climbing over people and it took forever before she finally found a place for me, and then I was all flustered and upset and my concentration was off and I couldn't do the test. I swear, I did horribly on it. Then when I went to talk to her about it after the test, she practically blew me off, saying "oh, the test was harder" and "we'll look at it later". That wasn't the POINT! I'll be so mad if I didn't do well, which I just KNOW I didn't. That class is supposed to be easy dammit! *sigh* Anyway...
Then, last Sunday night, I got some... well, news. Suffice it to say it was something I needed to hear, but that I didn't want to hear. So I've been hurting pretty bad over that. It has NOT been my week, but the weekend has been pretty good so far.
I finished my character portrait for Furc. I have a bunch of stuff I need to upload, but first I need to get access to a scanner. Hopefully I'll figure something out soon.
