I recieved an old digital camera from a cousin of mine who had no use for it any more, and it uses CDRs to store the pictures. How weird. I still haven't fooled with it enough to find out the quality (megapx), the full capabilites and so on, but it seems to be at least equal to my Kodak in capabilites, so I'm excited.

I did not get a camera for my birthday, but I still have about a hundred dollars with which I can buy a tripod. And I can moan for a camera for graduation.

Nothing has changed.

We all pride ourselves on our 'accomplishments' as a race. Or alternately we bemoan the state of the world and decry our fellows as shortsighted and ethically blind.

But honestly, what in the hell is so different? The only thing that's changing is the amount of heat in the universe. People don't change. The world doesn't change. God doesn't change. Life doesn't change.

Jung had it right. He and Tolkien and Peake and even Pullman have it all right. Everything is exactly the same. A man is a man. Nothing more. He can do no more now than he could a thousand years ago. Nor will he change in another thousand. There will still be hate, and wars, and sex, and love, and scandal, and innocence. So just enjoy it. Okay?
