Received totals don't include gifts won as contest prizes, only those received in exchange for a gift sent.
If someone has more gifts sent that received, it means they have someone else busy making and sending them a gift! If they were to stop sending gifts, eventually they'd receive all the ones they were due and the numbers would be the same - but most people keep continually sending them, so that's why the numbers are different.

What are the requirements for a profile?

It can be a short or as long as you like, as long as you don't give any links to your dA profile, and provide a few different things to inspire a wide range of artists. However, when writing your profile to join our group, there are some things you need to keep in mind.

Introducing yourself

It's good to share a bit about yourself and what you can do, but it's more important to share the stuff that you like. Remember that your profile isn't to tell others what you can make and do, but to give them ideas on what to make FOR you. This was suggested a while back (and I had even before that had thoughts along similar lines) but I've only just got round to implementing it. Anyway, there's now a folder for "gifts you got". This is a place to display photos of the gifts you got "in action" or in use or whatever - so that the artist who made it can see how much you like it! :D

There's no requirement to contribute to this folder at all, but I noticed that some people were already.

In the March-April contest, the winners were all very clear-cut in the categories I gave, which was nice because it didn't feel like I was letting down any of the "near misses".
