1. I enjoy how I feel after I exercise, but I HATE exercising.

2. I hate Grey's Anatomy. I seem to be the only person on campus who hates that Scrubs rip-off. (SRSLY, Scrubs used How to Save a Life first AND now they're using Joshua Radin music. WTF.)

3. I sway back and forth when I'm standing and side to side when I'm sitting.

4. I've only gotten along with one roommate/suitemate throughout college and that's because she was never here. I've always internally strangled the rest though.

5. I watch about 2 hours of television a week.

In about a month or two, I will hit the 50k pageview mark. It might come faster if I give in and make some fanart of a popular pairing, but in all honesty, I've just been too tired to make any real effort in a picture. The fact that I'm home and dog paddling the web with a dial up connection may have something to do with it. Also, when using my laptop in my room, I have to lay on my tummy. This uncomfortable position (coupled with the many long nights reading fanfiction in the dark) have led to my body being rather sore and knotted, namely my back area.

When I do hit 50k, I plan to make another deviantart account. I'm uncertain if I want to delete everything on THIS account and move it over there, but I really, really, REALLY hate this username. Unless I can find some sort of way to change it, then I'll just make the new account. Also, if you have any ideas on how to separate the two accounts, let me know. (One for digital art, another for traditional? One for fanart, one for original?)

Thankfully, I go back to San Antonio next Thursday or Friday. Not only amd I excited for the new semester, but I'm also excited to get back to drawing.

Recently I purchased a 'How to Draw' book expecting to get plenty of pose references. Unfortunately this book was a swimsuit how-to. Not really my thing, expecially since the book kind of seems a bit ecchi-ish.. panty shots on every page! D: So I'm going to return it and then probably just borrow my sister's books.

Now, regarding politics and other news. Former President Gerald Ford passed away. I seem a bit.. miffed at the reaction of the people. They're raising him up on a pedastle and remarking at how wonderful he was. Didn't people hate him during his presidency because of him pardoning Nixon? Oh well. People hated Lincoln's Gettysburg Address when it was given, and now people are deeming it the most holy words ever spoken from a president. Random factoid: Gerald Ford was never elected to Presidency OR Vice Presidency. D: Many people knew about the first, but not the second.

Saddam is also dead. The Amnesty International Member inside of me was repressed and I breathed a sigh of relief. Mom thinks he got off too easy with a hanging and should have been killed the way he killed people. I don't think being hanged is a pleasant experience, though.. so I wouldn't really call it 'getting off easy.' I mean, if you don't die from the broken neck, the asphyxiation will get you. Eh.

I have about a month left for school. Oh my! This is definitely one of my better semesters, mainly because I excel at History. (Hurray, history major!) The drawback is all the reading and essay writing as well as the projects. I don't have the energy to draw. However, I hope to squeeze out my contest entry by the ides of November. I haven't decided which book to use, though. We'll see. :3 I wish I could submit 2 entries.

Oh. My. God. Someone wrote a song about Raven. It's hilarious and set to the tune of "Little Red Riding Hood." Check it out!

That tune always brings me back to my senior year in high school when I was the announcer for out-of-city/state choirs. This one group performed the song. One of the really cute guys (who shall be named E.) made conversation with me. I miss E and wish I could see him again. Alas, I think he lived in Oklahoma.

For those who aren't kept up to date through my Livejournal, I am moved into my apartment/dorm for the semester. At first, I was worried that deviantart would be blocked like it was last year (and it was for a few days) but they have let it through :] Also I have the option of using two internet providers: uiwtx and apogee. Apogee is much faster than uiwtx, so that will be my default.

I'm living with three other people, two of which are rarely ever here. (In that case, I feel they should split me and my roommate up and give us our own non-habitat-living roommie. It's an Avoca apartment: 2 bedroom, one bathroom (2 sinks!), kitchen, living room, and dining table somewhere inbetween. Decorating is coming slowly, but oh well.

All my classes are history classes this semester, and I think things will be good. I hope to have plenty of time to draw when I'm not busy with homework.

At the moment, my sister is inking a drawing of Yvaine and Tristran-the-Doormouse from Neil Gaiman's book Stardust. It's a good book, and I'm trying to expand my fanart horizons instead of just sticking to Teen Titans. Also, I hope to include more original artwork. :]

Jessica also has me reading a book in order for me to spend less time at the computer. It's a book called Stardust. I'm through the first chapter and have yet to be pulled into the story. However, if this book was able to keep my sister's attention, then it should be a cinch to get through for me. I was always the more academically oriented daugher while Jessica was the more artistically inclined one.

More progress has been done on the last art trade. I started forming the background, however there will be no houses as i have planned. My perspective on a screen isn't good. Then again, my perspective ability on anything isn't good. So, we will have a field, a sky, and some water.

In other news, I finally have a place to live this fall, though it's not what I wanted (or asked for). My friend wrote a note to the housing director stating that she left her room specifically for me while she would be away in China during the fall. However, being the pricks that they are, the put me in the Avoca Apartments, which means I'll share a bedroom with a person and the apartment with 2 others. Meh.

Also, I've been thinking about going back home to finish my degree. If I do, I know I'll feel like I've wasted 3 years there at UIW.

I hate thinking about these things.

I've been busy, busy, busy. I finished penning my current trade and plan to start coloring it Thursday night. I don't think I'll have it finished before Saturday be cause I plan on going drinki-- out Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. Maybe by Monday it'll be done. However, I can get a lot done in the course of one night (see current TT contest entry).

I really like how the mock-cover came out. I had a dream that my computer crashed and I lost EVERYTHING. That's nearly 10 hours of work, there, man! Lets hope nothing happens inbetween now and the time I upload it. x_X

Count me super excited for the next Teen Titans contest. It took me a while to decide which video game I wanted. I thought about Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, and even Gauntlet (Elf needs food badly.) but I finally decided on one. ^_^ If we're still allowed to collaborate, I'd like to do so with Nevvy (

) , but that's only if I go back to San Antonio this weekend.... and that doesn't look possible. D: Alas. With her brilliance in writing and ideas and my drawing, perhaps we could become an awesome team.

Update: Finished the two requests. :3

My cousin cut and dyed my hair today. I have really curly hair, and when dry it was mid-to-upper back length, mid-back when wet. She chopped off about 2 inches so now it rests nicely on my shoulders when it's dry. The curls got tighter now that it's short and not weight down. My hair has been dyed dark brown, my natural color, because I'm sick of roots and don't want to bother with them anymore. Pictures of me taken like 5 minutes ago here, here, and here. If you look closely, you can see my evangelion pictures. XP

I want to try to get the Water Sprite picture done by Sunday, but I'd like to submit it before the Raven picture. Who knows. Also, there's a new TT contest coming up. Have to think about which video game I want to use.

I know, I know. "DAMION SCOTT!? A-wha?!" He's not really the artist who comes to mind when Raven is involved. I believe it'll be a good challenge for him, because Raven doesn't move the same way Cassandra Cain or Tim Drake do. She's not a martial artist. The only thing I'm hoping for is that he not use markers or whatever to color. Mm no. Wizard had a sketch up and it was a Tony Daniel sketch which looked like it was colored with markers (ala Damion Scott style) Raven does not have pale skin in the comics, and PLEASE don't allow those boots, either. I like my comicverse and toonverse separated. Regardless, I'm still getting this mini series because Raven is my favorite comic book character ever (Cassandra Cain, Tim Drake, and Dick Grayson are very close behind her though) even if she HAS to wear an outfit inspired by her animated counterpart. So long as her skin's not ashen and the elf boots go.

Still praying for Jo Chen variant covers. x:

Oh, someone else is starting to climb my favorites ladder: The Question. And all because of his Gauntlet reference in 52 #4: "Elf needs food badly."

Today [Monday] I have the car post-noon so I can drive around the city and go job hunting once again. I plan on stopping by two or three places: Man Power (a staffing agency for temporary positions), an embroidery shop, and MAYBE Pizza Hut. I want to hold off applying to any food-service places until/if I receive my ServSafe certificate. The test was easy.. I SHOULD have passed it.

However, in the event I am unsuccessful, I will try my hand at Avon or Pampered Chef. More than likely the former.

Today marked the day I finally got over my fear of driving. I drove around the city looking for a job and met with unsuccess. I visited a friend and my aunt later and they gave me some good suggestions (temp agency, burger king, pizza hut, etc) So we shall see if employment is in my near future. If not, I don't mind. It leaves me more time for drawing. Since it's summer, Art Trades have reopened!

Last night (like around midnight) I started feeling crappy. I thought I would get better, but I only got worse as the night progressed. I scrounged around for a thermometer, and it took me nearly 3 or 4 minutes to take the temperature because it kept climbing!

The end result? 103
I know how a fever works. All the blood rushes to the head and that lowers the circulation to your extremities thus causing painful chills. I called my sister at the middle of the night (She was staying with her boyfriend) and she didn't know what to do. So I IMed two friends. I took one's advice of taking tylenol, turning on the heater, wearing a cold washcloth, and drinking cold water. I went to Jessica's bed for the rest of the night. Apparently my voice sounds weak, too.

When I woke up, I noticed my fever was down. (Down, not gone) but now I was sweating profusely. I wearliy got up and turned on the air conditioner, but now I have Last Night Jr. happening. Minor chills, minor fever. Great.

Any suggestions on what I should do? I have no appetite. ;_;

EDIT!: Now it's at 103.5! ;_____;

Or sad? It's kinda both.

I get so many comments about how well I shade, but the truth is, most of the time I have no idea what the hell I'm doing! It's all guesswork. I like to imagine where my lightsource is coming from and I *try* to keep consistant, but sometimes I forget where my 'source' was. Then the backgrounds.. if I decide to do them, are completely non-lit and don't match. That or they're gradients.

Uhm, my Teen Titans contest picture is coming out nicely. I guess. I'm having trouble with what colors to use for Terra, but in the end, I think using everyone's default colors will suffice. I'd have to say Raven's outfit is my favorite so far, followed by Kid Flash's, then Beast Boy's, Starfire's, then Terra's. Star and BB are tied, I think. I might post the lineart.

I wanted to team up with my sister, but she's very busy. I'd like to do more collabs.

Anyhow, back into hiding I go.

Story wise, it caught my interest. I'm curious to find out more about Hawk, Dove, Aquagirl, Offspring, and Zatara and what they did when they were titans. I want to know what caused Gar and Raven to break up (and as much as I'd love for them to stay broken up, I already know they're going to get together again since Johns likes the idea of them as a couple.) I want to know what happened to Kory, Donna, and especially Mal (Herald). Was he disfigured in some way!? Raven felt anger and such from him.

I loved the scene where Cyborg reawakens and Rose mentions him not having brain damage since he remembers her. "Uh-oh. He remember me." *BOOM!* Hehe.

Art: Tony Daniel is a great artist. Rose and Cassie look very pretty and Robin and Kid Devil look really good, too. It's the costume redesigns I'm having trouble accepting.

The reason I picked up the comics in the first place is because I wanted to read these characters outside of their animated personas. However, Beast Boy's outfit is pretty much straight from the cartoon, and that annoys me greatly. I'm not too fond of Karen's hairdo either. Again, something that should have stayed in the cartoon.

As for Raven's new outfit, I'm about 60/40 on dislike/like. I don't like the fact that she has a belt, cuffs, and single-button cloak which looks like the animated, nor do I care much for the crest on her top. I do like the fact that her hair is longer and her unders are a once piece navy body suit. I was looking forward to a change from the dress, but now I kind of want it back.

My favorite redesign is probably Gemini. Her new outfit looks great. I also adore how Tony draws Cyborg. Kevin Conrad is such a great match for Tony's pencils. I know the art in this book is going to be a feast for the eyes. A more than capable replacement for Mike Mckone.

Superboy Prime vs. Superboy (Conner) Conner gets beaten up, but then shows Prime his Titans beeper. Prime is surrounded by Titans, JSA, and the Doom Patrol.

However, Prime manages to get a few casualties. A few just BARELY made their cartoon debut.

Please be patient! I was unprepared for the great reaction towards it, and wasn't sure if I was going to continue drawing it. I'm not the best writer, but I will try my hardest to conintue the series.

A brief summary of what has happened so far.

Titans East's tower is being rebuilt, so Speedy and Aqualad are crashing Titans Standard's tower. The two are enamored with Raven once they take a glimpse of her in her PJs. Robin begins to get jealous.

Next part: Watch as Robin and Speedy fight for Raven's heart. Aqualad can't mentally handle all the death glaring going back and forth, so he's drawn to Starfire, much to her happiness.

That's probably the next scenario I'm going to use. I had wanted to make it a long thing, but I don't want it to surpass 15 pages. :T

When I finish (not if, because I WILL finish it), I'd like to start a comic centered on Kid FlashxRavenxRobin. Had I known about Kid Flash on the show earlier, I probably would have made it Wally instead of Roy in the CWSWC? comic.

Again, sorry for the LONG LONG wait. ^_^; Poor pacing on my part.

I want to refrain from using comic-characters in fear that they won't be as well recognized as the toons. It's a shame, really.
