Lately I've been having a conflict with my brain when working with my art lately. Like, half of me wants to draw something cartoony and stylized, but then the other half of me wants to be as realistic as possible. I need to find a good in-between.

I also need to practice the human body and poses, then maybe I can start doing comics (I've always wanted to). But to do that I'll also need to practice backgrounds as well. Blaaah.

I dunno, maybe I should give up Photoshop and go back to my sketchbook. Or try painting again... I have a bunch of tempera in my closet. Or hell, give photography a try.

I'm just really getting tired of drawing stuff I'm not happy with.

I BEAT MAJORA'S MASK!!

Srsly. I bought LoZ: Majora's Mask the WEEK IT CAME OUT in OCTOBER 2000 (Collector's Edition + Expansion Pack)! I got all the way to the last temple (Stone Tower), and stopped playing for a reason I've forgotten (probably because PS2 came out around the same time lolz).

But I've recently dusted off my N64, jammed in MM, and started from the beginning. Oh man, I did absolutely everything. Collected every stray fairy, every mask, every heart piece (20 heart containers, zomg!), every bottle, every mini-game beaten... EVERYTHING! I tell you what... Fierce Deity's Mask freaking floored Majora... I was all prepared for a tough battle. I had 3 bottles of fairies and 3 bottles of Chateau Romani (the 200 rupees per bottle magic milk) ready... Didn't use any Actually GETTING to him was more troublesome than the actual fight (Goron rolling part... Pain the the ASS). BUT! I had a great time

The game may be 8 years old, but it still has life in it! But of course, I have a soft spot for classic games and consoles.

I love this website and web comics. I love looking how much people have progressed over time. I love to look back when they started showing their work then go to the latest work and just go, "wow". I dunno... I just think it neat, especially in comic-form.

A good example would be questionablecontent.net

Take a look at his first comic to his latest! Best part is actually reading from the beginning and watch as his style progresses and improves. Love it!

I miss drawing just for fun, back when I was little. Back when my imagination was still wild. Back when I could just sit down with a pencil and paper and just know what I'm going to draw, and didn't stop until it was finished.

But now... Now I don't do anything that I consider art. I do doodles and sketches here and there, sure. But to me, it's not art. To me, art is a completely finished work, heart and mind into every little detail. Something that's pushing my skills and something I can be proud of. I have none of that here except for maybe 2 or 3. Every thing I have are doodles, sketches, and half-finished stuff. I just can't sit down and think of something beautiful and put it down anymore. I just can't draw a figure to my liking, and if I do, I just can't bring my self to refine it and color it... Put a background, make it express a feeling or mood... Give it a purpose. Maybe it's motivation I lack, or both that and inspiration, I don't know. I just know I wish I could make art.

I look at other artist's websites and my mind is just boggled by what they can do. Stuff I wish I could do. Stuff I know I could do if I put effort into my work and stick with it until it's finished.

Sigh... Maybe I should just stop calling myself "artistdude" and just "dude", because the "artist" side of me sure has fallen. And it hit the ground hard. Maybe in time it'll recover, maybe it won't. I sure hope it does, though.

For those of you who care and/or who read it, sorry for this emo post. It's almost 5am and I'm tired and I felt like typing.

I suppose it's like me with message boards or some games. Play on them for a while, and just get tired of it.

But have no worries. Next year at school I will be taking AP Art, so I'll have some nice stuff to show! I'll also be taking web design aswell, and we'll be learning Macromedia. YES! I really want to learn it!

I just need a class that teaches 3D stuff, and I'll be set!

Anyways... Tomorrow's my last day of school! Woot woot! I can't wait to sleeeeeep iiiiiin

Now for some gamer news:

If you haven't been keeping up, they showed off the XBOX 360, PS3, and the Nintendo Revolution at the E3 convention in LA. I'll tell you, it's going to be a really tough decision on which console to get. They're all wireless and have many capabilities, and of course internet! (Yes, Nintendo finally relized there is an internet.)

Best of all, the games they showed were absolutely stunning. Gears of War and Unreal Tournament 2007 by Epic Games using their amazing Unreal Engine 3 were tops, in my opinion. I mean, the preview of UT2007 made me giggle like a little school girl. The teasers for the next Kill Zone and Fight Night or something like that, Legend of Zelda, and some others looked freaking amazing.

I can't wait to see what else unfolds in the future!

Wow, I must say this must be one of my longest entries. But alas, I'm going to go play some Counter-Strike: Source!

Lol, on another note, today was the first day of school, and holy cow there's alot of kids going there. 29+ per class. But this school is kind of neat. I just hope it doesn't rain or everything'll get wet, lol.

They were calling for alot of snow today...But, since everyone was wishing for snow (even teachers), they all JINXED IT!! No day off today -sigh-...But now they're calling for 5º outside, with lots of wind. They should cancel school for being too cold outside!

Anywho, I'm off. I drew something else that I was going to submit, but I think I threw it away on accident, lol.
