While the comedic dysfunction of the relationships and the daily drama in the garage is the primary focus of the series, the garage is but a microcosm of a much larger mecha universe. The mechas being built in the garage are being used to fight in the inter-galactic mecha-fought tournament that is taking place right outside.

Want to know the cool part? During the development phase, manga fans can visit the MechTechs blogs and see the characters as they are being drawn via our live 24-hour webcast.

And even better, fans can contribute and make suggestions to the artists as they draw the characters.

The first print issue of the series will be released in November 2008 along with the launch of the 3-D virtual mecha world.

Sign-up for more updates on Mechtechs at [link]

Bookmark our blogsite and get to know more about the people behind Mechtechs and the pressures that they're dealing with while creating the comicbook: [link]

Mechtech DA account:

Tambayan

"If your cats bring you dead mice, roaches, or other things they’ve killed, be sure to act pleased. They are offering it to you as a gift. On the other hand, there was a time when Koosi would “kidnap” small stuffed animals and drop them in the toilet bowl. Was she drowning them, or studying buoyancy?" - Jessica Zafra

She can be quite blunt, and she can be quite funny, too. Jessica Zafra is one of the few Filipino writers who, through her works, helped me in changing my views about the world. I don't always agree with her opinions, but you get my drift?

In other news, I'm still wheezing but not as bad as yesterday. I took antihistamine for breakfast, and most probably a salbutamol later this afternoon. Well, that depends if the allergy is still racking up my lungs.

Awhile ago, I was surfing around webarchives dot org to see how people blogged back then as compared to how they blog today. I noticed how some of my friends were filled with hope and enthusiasm about many things, actual or virtual. There was once a brilliant sense of humor and a scintillating way of reaching out to people.

Today, that certain blogging quality is rare. Mostly, blogs now are either rants, backstabs, or sugar-coated bitterness/loneliness.

I want to reach out to these people like I used to, but the vitriol in their minds have already spread to their souls. Only they can fix themselves, now.

I'm rambling. Ohhh, this blog is turning into a blackhole entry, no? And would I delete this after a few years because of another shot of emotional poison like many of us do when friends we fall in love with are no more a friend than a lover?

We should learn to take rejection with a pinch of salt (sugar, for the kidney-sensitive). Experience will teach me that, again and again. Fun.

And what about art? Art can save us, if we want it to. To hell with them who refused to share your heart. It only meant that they did not deserve your inherent kindness and bright-eyed hopefulness, despite how cruel the world is. Take art to heart.

Am I making sense? Perhaps.

The internet has become a very big part in our lives. However, love remains the same, be it actual or virtual. No better words can express this than Jeanette Winterson:

"Found objects wash up on the shores of my computer. Tin cans and old tyres mix with the pirate's stuff. The buried treasure is really there, but caulked and outlandish. Hard to spot because unfamiliar, and a few of us can see what has never been named.

I'm looking for something, it's true.
I'm looking for some meaning inside the data.

That's why I trawl my screen just like a beachcomber-- looking for you, looking for me, trying to see through the disguise. I guess I've been looking for us both all my life." --- from The Powerbook

I enjoy reaching out on DA. Making friends. Getting to know them through their art style. Deviant status has no meaning for me. Whether you're a staff, senior, or regular deviant, if you're cool to hang out with in the comments or chat, then we can be friends. But in my 3 years on DA, I have encountered snobbish folks, and some of them are high-status. Well, to be honest... mostly seniors.

I have made friends with really good ones, though. Maybe I'm lucky. But for the rest who were shamelessly condescending, I feel sorry for you guys. I don't know what you're doing here on DA, anyway, except make lower deviants feel bad.

A senior brought up a DA journal about this, and the comments gave me a sneak preview of what it really means to be a DA senior. I was a bit surprised, actually, because I don't see why I would aim for that status. I'm contented with having fun already. I love what I have, right now. No need to grab for more.

All that drama I saw, plus the interactions I witnessed behind certain doors convinced me that I don't need to be a DA senior to make the most of DA.

So there. I said it.

Now, the song meme.

RULES:
1. Put your music player on shuffle.
2. Press forward for each question.
3. Use the song title as the answer to the question even if it doesn’t make sense. NO CHEATING!
4. Tag 5 people.
5. Bold the questions and with the answers, give your own comments on how it relates to the questions.

One of our officemates landed third place at the recent scifi contest by Fully Booked with Neil Gaiman. Yay!!! Not only was it a pleasant surprise but it also proved that our office is a spawning pit of the best illustrators in the country. It was a good reason to celebrate.

Also, another thing I like about this turn of events at work is because nobody was jealous. Everyone was very glad! Everyone wanted to party! Hahaha! With this kind of encouraging atmosphere, I am growing to love my work more and more. I think this warm attitude is set by perfect example from our superiors. The best bosses I have!

I did not get to attend the Gaiman gathering at Serendra, last Sunday. I like the works of Gaiman, but I'm financially ill-equipped to buy everything with Gaiman on it. Also, acquiring those things will not make me a fan... it will turn me into an idiot. There are self-proclaimed Gaiman fans who are out to bash other fans because one believes the other to be a retard. Hahaha!!! That's what you get in the world of fandom: stupid competition over who farts the hottest air.

My very first Gaiman experience was in 1995 when my cousin brought home a copy of the Death Gallery. It has Clive Barker's art in it. My first Gaiman item was a 5 peso single issue copy of Death: The Times of your Life #2. That's right, a copy undefiled by the insipid writings of Claire Danes. I bought it in 1997. A tattered copy with a torn corner where the price tag used to be. I bravely went up to Gaiman's table in 2005 and had his autograph on my precious copy. I can still remember how Gaiman stared at the copy as if he'd seen a ghost. He stared at the copy for several seconds. Hahaha! What did Gaiman write on it together with his autograph?

Al, don't die.
-- Neil Gaiman

I'm not a Gaiman fan. But being singled out like that is a nice feeling, you know. Gaiman is no prophet or seer. But those were wise words he wrote. And if I did take my life that year, I'd never be where I am right now.

Or celebrate in cheer with officemates over another Gaiman experience.

So, the Komikon was last Saturday. What can I say? It was great fun! I wish I could write about it as articulately as erdilien23. I convinced everyone among my friends to buy the Seksi calendars from *Sh3lly *kei03 ~Elisca and ~wayoftheGoo. My friends aka the Windangers zoomed through the event, happily looting through the stalls. It was a happy event.

Later, the Windangers had the most surreal reunion! What were the chances that we would bump into an old friend, Byron, at the college beer joint, Sarah's? With a guitar, too! There was booze, chips/innards, jamming... and plans for world domination. Nyahahaha! Crazy weekend! There was a hole in the crotch area of my pants the entire time.

You know, looking back at this, I think the embarrassing song performance I did at the Komikon doesn't matter, anymore. So the mic was wonky. So there was blood running from my fingers onto the guitar strings.

So what!

Tambayan

I could talk about the manong (Tagalog for "older man") who will sing nothing but Olivia Newton-John music, but I'd rather not, because there are no words to describe how "hopelessly devoted" he is to his "magic". At first glance, I thought it was Morrisey high on something. His entire youtube account is a place straight from planet Xanadu. Surprisingly, he sings the right tune and on cue.

Not bad, pare! Just in case you youngsters don't know who Olivia Newton-John is, click here: [link] and enjoy!

Anyways, the event also known as is just around the corner! I hope to see you wonderful people there! Mascara, face powder, feathers and all! I am hoping to get some comics signed by local artists. I'm not sure if international guests will be there, but who knows.
Yesterday, I received my very first gift certificate for Amazon.com as payment for an art commission. So, I went online shopping only to find that this one is out of stock:

Bummer. So, if anybody out there is willing to sell a copy or has spotted one at some store or whut, please let me know! Well, I went around the website scanning for other Harlan Ellison books, when I stumbled upon his book of commentaries for the paintings of Jacek Yerka:

Applemania by Jacek Yerka

He uses a paintbrush for the acrylics on canvas! That's just really tight, don't you think? The colors are just woah! And each painting emanates with that familiar feeling of a restful sleep and the peace of lucid dreaming. Paintings like these make me want to hug the canvas.

Nope, Jacek Yerka is not on DA. Well, prints are for sale at his website, though, but it's in Euros. I guess I'll have to content myself of being a silent viewer, then.

As for my Amazon shopping, I ended up getting a spanking copy of Rilke's "Letters To A Young Poet" because I suddenly remembered that someone borrowed my old copy and never returned it.

Plugs

I know that some of my DA friends have two or more accounts in here, and most of them are quite open about it. Sometimes, these accounts remain a secret until they are found out.

But recently, I have noticed a striking similarity among some DA accounts I have encountered in here. Doppelgangers Anonymous. These accounts exist for the sole purpose of creating an alter-ego. For others, they just want to stalk using these accounts. Some even from years back, and I did not notice that they are the same person until recently. Of course, to keep the fun going, I just keep this to myself and find the entire thing quite entertaining. Especially when they make an attempt to create "entirely different" art styles. It amazes me how versatile they can be. The fun part here is that they don't know yet that I already know.

One of the best smiles I've seen was from my highschool arts teacher, Ma'am Bernie Solina. She was a fierce instructor when it came to the arts. She absolutely loathed hurried plates or half-assed "conceptual" installations. She was known to give a failing grade whenever she spotted un-erased pencil sketches underneath the paint. But her smile carried an air of reassurance, as if to say "Listen carefully, always, and you'll be alright".

Being in highschool was tough for many teenagers to "listen carefully". We were always in a hurry; impatient for the next excitement. We refused to understand why teachers and grown-ups can be so condescending, and why a lot of them smoked a lot of cigarettes. Well, at least Miss Solina did not smoke. Because of that, it was easier for the students to consult with her without gagging for air. Somehow, Miss Solina was one of the few art teachers we respected.

One day, when the semestral break was around the corner, Miss Solina asked our class where we planned to spend the vacation. Everyone raised their hand, willing to share plans and stories about their homes back at the province. After that, she asked us if we would like to go out with her that weekend at the mall just to hang out before we went home for the break. Hell, why not! We were really excited about it. And then I raised my hand to ask a question, "Ma'am, would it be alright if we visited you at your home during the break?"

She was silent for a moment, and then she said, "I'm sorry."

One of us asked why, and she told us the truth. Usually, teachers would lie and try to distract the class onto other topics. But Miss Solina told us the reason why we can't hang out at her place. She has a brother with a psychiatric problem, and he lives with her. Bringing visitors would be a disaster. And because she told us the truth, our respect for her grew.

It was going to be the last semester Miss Solina was going to teach in school. She treated us to a movie that weekend. And an eat-all-you-can at Tia Maria's. I never saw her, again. I got kicked out before my senior year. The last time I heard from her was a birthday letter she sent in 1999, telling me that she, too was a Pisces. In 2001, Miss Solina disappeared in the jungles of Palawan.

I was thinking how many challenges she faced in life, and yet smile with grace and strength.

My brother is psycho in so many levels, and there is no way I will be able to live with him. Living with relatives are tough enough, what more with one who has a challenged sense of reality.

I know I'm rambling. I thought I just had to let that out. I don't care if some people out there are against "speaking out" about life in our DA journals. It's my journal. I will write what I want here because, who knows, someone can learn from what was written.

People who are not willing to learn are stupid. So, listen carefully, always, and you'll be alright.

Just a teeny tiny rant.

I saw the replay of the MTV Asia Music Awards, last night. And I was appalled by the nominations. About 95% of the artists featured were under the pop-rock category, giving the illusion that music is all that. It's terrible! There are better music out there other than Fallout Boy, for crissakes! You type in that name here on DA, and you see gazillions of redundant fanart totally deprived of originality. I'm not saying that Fallout Boy is not original (although we all know Greenday band beat them all to that! People, your 2007 winners are so 90s! Stop stuffing it down our ears as if it's the "NEW" thing!)

Another annoying thing, MTV has put up this new feature on their website where people can share their "feelings" that are deeply "connected" with music... because, according to the TV ad they projected, people who won't be able to share that on their website are isolated and living inside a sheltered world. Ostracized and skanky clueless. As if synesthesia was a lonely condition, unless one logged on to the MTV website; then you're hip and cool.

I find it insulting!

Aside from all that noise, the really good musicians that are NEW were snubbed. Seldom nominated, and rarely bagging the trophy. Where is Corinne Bailey Rae? Or Chris Botti? It's been seven years since "House of Flies" by Deftones was released... how many people even noticed that they did a kick ass remake of Sade's "No Ordinary Love"???

In 1995, Paul McCartney said that today's music has become disposable. Sad, but true. Nobody pays attention to their music, anymore. It's all just a sea of emotional diarrhea...

There are less than 5 (often ZERO!) original artworks here on DA pertaining to the following recording artists:

- Patti Austin
- James Ingram
- Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66 (shocking!!!)
- Tower of Power
- Malo in case you don't know who they are, watch this... [link]
- Grassroots
- Pilot
- Shakatak
- Grover Washington, Jr.
- Deodato
- Astrud Gilberto Can you believe that??? Despite the booming faux-popularity of bossa nova these days, tsk tsk...
- Basia
- Bread how ironic for a band that wrote "If", a song about the "picture paints a thousand words"...
- Earth, Wind and Fire
- Matt Monro
- XTC
- China Crisis
- Wang Chung
- Michael Macdonald/ Doobie Brothers
- Incubus
- Deftones
- Stone Temple Pilots
- Lightning Seeds
- Chris Botti
- Tracy Bonham
- Esthero
- Groove Armada
- Thievery Corporation
- Julia Fordham
- Carole King
- Basement Jaxx
- Portishead
- Corrine Bailey Rae
- D'sound

... and many more! (If you have an artist in mind that seemed under-represented through art here on DA, please feel free to share your thoughts.)

Yeah, I'm kinda lamenting. But, oh well. If nobody's gonna point it out, what will happen? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. All I'm saying is that pop-rock is not the "be all end all" of music. Music is not about what is hip. It's about the soul. It's about what is being said without the words getting in the way.

What is hip? What is hip today will become passe.

EDIT:
I know this is turning into a form of drama. I never thought this could happen to me. Suddenly, I don't feel so secure about DA.

OKAY! So I just found out that my MESSAGE center on my main website at artistmonk.hakuro.org got hacked! So all messages from there don't fly to my email account anymore. Instead, the would be clients messages would fly to this thief's address: victhechaosgoat@gmail.com and it turns out the thief has a MYSPACE, too: [link]

The culprit's names is VICTORIA SPENCER, identity thief! Turns out she also has accounts here on DA, but she's banned already... why am I not surprised! !victhechaosgoat !Chaosgoat

So people, DO NOT send messages on my main website. I'm shutting my website down until further notice!

Here is the message from the writer, Chuck Kennedy:

Aletheia...

I'm sorry your first visit to my blog (Comic Book Observatory) had to be under such negative circumstances. This whole thing has completely thrown ME for a loop. I contacted, who I thought to be you, straight through your own website. I've looked through my saved emails (there are a good bunch of them) and I can't find any that originate from my email account, so I feel confident it was through your website.

I don't know what damage you've suffered, but I'm truly sorry for any role I played, unless it helps us to nail this person. The email address I had for this person was victhechaosgoat@gmail.com. I'm not sure if that's a help to you or not. A quick google search got me to this MySpace Page: [link]

Again, I don't know what exactly is going on here, but that person seems to be the one I was talking with. I have to go to work here in a bit, but I would be willing to help you out if you want. Looking at her pictures on the MySpace page I think this to be who I was conversing with, and I'm not sure why or how this happened. She goes by the real name of Victoria Spencer, or TJ.

Contact me directly at ***@*****.*** as I am reluctant to use your website to send you anything.

Chuck Kennedy

For the love of gods, above and below! Who is VICTORIA SPENCER??? I don't know this person! I'm hoping to get to the bottom of this and clear this up. What a mess!

LESSON LEARNED: Always update your websites. Also, change your passwords once a week.

For those who are still interested on getting some artwork done by me, you may send me a note here and I'll send you my REAL email address and then we can make some good art collaborations.

+++

08/26/07
Well, it's okay to find stuff like this: [link] because it clearly has a disclaimer that the copyrights are mine, and that it's all for a good cause.

But sometimes, there are nasty surprises.

Right now, I don't know where to start. There's a sick feeling in my tummy. I mean I never had identity theft happen before but this one is just pure fecal matter.

I'll try to be calm. I was browsing around google and chanced upon a blog where someone mentioned my username. I don't know who this guy is, but from his blog entries, it is apparent that he is in the graphic novel industry. Specifically, a comics writer.

Someone made a business deal with this comics writer from I don't know where, and called herself "TJ"! She even agreed to do a cover art for the poor guy! Oh my god, the gall of this person! [link]

So I read further into the guy's blog, and later found out that the impostor went chicken on him. [link]

Obviously because she can't draw like me.

Just to make sure I wasn't being stupid, I checked on all my email accounts and DA notes if I missed out on a message from the writer. I even double checked on the sent folders. None!

Judging from the dates on the blog, this incident happened only...

So, I just received my first DA Policy warning. They removed one of my deviations because it was "offensive".

Alternatively it may have featured:
1. Underage nudity.
2. Sexual acts or “adult toys”.
3. The gratuitous display of genitalia.
4. Real life self-mutilation or injury.

Ok. I think it was #2 and #3, even though the removed deviation was of an impossible creature, a fictitious character, and nobody got hurt in the picture.

Whoever reported me, thanks for the surprise. I rarely get notes in this DA account. It sure made my day.

So, what has been happening to me lately? Well, I have a new job, now. Yay! I will be working for *IAS-Inc and I am very excited to be working with some of the country's best illustrators. My knees start to shake at their brilliance. Many thanks to ~Sh3lly and ~xanethia-anarae for the referral. I will be starting around early August. **happy dance**

There is time to spare for a bit of commission work, if only to boost my broke ass a bit. All that moving and traveling back to Manila has drained my resources dry. So, if any of you or know someone who is interested to commission me for an artwork, feel free to send me a note.

By the way, I was able to grab a copy of ~minsan's Digmaang Salinlahi indie-comics series [link] , and I must say that the artwork application is pretty neat and the storyline uncomplicated. However, there is an influence of anime/manga in the drawing style, and this might cause some critics to point out as a "flaw" because it is not "our own". But still, one can't help but enjoy this affordable read for only P60 available at Comic Quest (Megamall & SM North) and Comic Oddysey (Robinsons Manila & Galleria).

The more I get rejected for my effort in contributing to communities on my other DA account, the more I am beginning to enjoy this toon account of mine. Nothing can compare to the peace and quiet in here. So simple, so nice.
This is a place where I don't sit and wait for recognition. This is where I really get down to the basics and relearn everything. DA has a lot of tutorials on cartooning, and even more tutorials all over the net.
This is a place for self-improvement in this elusive field of cartooning. I guess clubs will be excluded from here. Too many rules, too many margins. This is what I want to say about my other DA account: What is fame when it can not feed you?
I want to learn how to improve my cartooning. And outright rejection without offering a solution is not helping.

The last time I did some serious fun graphic novel illustration was back in 2003 with Stef Juan as script writer. The story was about a bunch of classroom groupmates planning for the ultimate science project: Ang Robot [The Robot]. If you want to see the complete work, just contact Stef; she has the ONLY copy. What's left with me are the inked, but un-texted pages.

Every page of illustration felt like I had to teach myself how to draw all over again. I liked that feeling of teachability; my mind was open for innovations and possibilities. I finished the project in 5 days! There were about 15 pages, meaning, I finished approximately 3 pages per day!

When I graduated, I kind of lost my touch for comics and stuff. I had my chance to regain that touch when I was working for a hentai company. But I was paying less attention than I was supposed to. I kept worrying about the bills and the never-ending "what will my parents think" kind of lame-assery. Plus, I was having some pseudo-relationship with people who have nothing to contribute to how I can nurture my skills. I was hanging out with the wrong people.

In short, I wasn't living right. My art wasn't right, therefore, my life wasn't. And I got sick often, then. A sick body indicates a sick mind. I needed some real help. I used surrealism and decorative symbolism (which are mostly found here) as an outlet for my passive but growing anger and frustration about what's going on with my life.

As time passed, I haven't any clue what happened, when suddenly I drew toons without as much fun as I used to. The pencilling is too rough, the inking too heavy. I guess I must have spent too much time on realistic renderings that I lost my touch for the most basic of elements: lines.

Only recently have I reunited myself with tooning. just early this year. The enthusiasm in me was rekindled when my girlfriend and I was having this conversation about 2D art and our favorite cartoons. Soon, I created this "toon account" apart from my original account so I can post toon stuff without alienating the surreal fans from the other side.

I thought it would be easy, to pick up the pencil again. And ink without a hitch. I was wrong. I had to start from zero. Back to the basics. And not just the lines, mind you.

I had to re-educate myself on proper breathing for traditional inking. Yes, there is a breathing technique to keep those lines clean and smooth... and seemingly "simple". It's actually challenging. I just realized that my body is in bad shape when I took up an exercise program two weeks ago. Boy, did that hurt. Today, my arms still hurt but not as much as when I started out. Arnis strengthens and controls grip.

Thing is... we should all take care of our bodies and set our minds straight. Live right. Art will follow.

"I've found that unless I draw almost every day I get very rusty and it takes a long time to limber up again. Even if it is just meaningless scratching on a page." - Travis Charest, comic book artist

This journal has a more personal angle than the journal in my other DA account. I guess it is safer here to blog about art and life.

My plans of visiting Manila on the 12th was cancelled, mainly due to financial constraints. I'm currently without a job, though I am not exactly broke. After discussing the matter with my lovely girlfriend, we decided to give it another wait before seeing each other, again. Though I was afraid she'd be disappointed with how this turned out, the change of plans seem to work to her advantage, as well. It would increase trust points from her parental units, while I get a chance to gather enough resources to be able to move back to Manila.

For the whole year, I will be a full time artist, and I will soon be investing in an airbrush compressor. There is quite a line of bikes waiting to get some paint done here, and I thought it would make a lucrative small time business. I am not fully sure of the wisdom of my decision on this. But all efforts of job hunting turned up in the form of "rejection notices". As much as I tried to push my luck, the direction all leads to staying home and working my ass off.

I don't know if anybody can understand how frustrating it feels to get rejections from a career path. It feels like being told, "Yeah, we know you're good, but we don't need you at the moment."

Seriously, I will not be getting another job at the government. No, no, no! I've had enough trauma from that area!

For those who are familiar with the works of (Gerry Alanguilan) would have stumbled on his famous "WASTED" graphic novel, which was inspired from his own life.

For some young artists here in my country, WASTED and Alanguilan's tragic love story is like a horror tale! Artist quits job from strict architect firm, becomes full-time artist making comics for foreign companies while at home, trying very hard to save up so he can live with his girlfriend in the U.S. And in the middle of the waiting... his girlfriend found someone else and tells him "It's a good idea to start seeing other people." The graphic novel, however, carried a more tragic conclusion.

It will always remind me to be VERY careful with my decisions or else I lose what I hold most dear in my life. I am a passionate person and anything that happens to me I take it to heart. And right now, the fact that I am jobless and far away from my girlfriend is raw horror. I haven't been sleeping well since my contract ended. I haven't been eating well. I just can't handle another broken heart. I know I will die if something like that happens again.

However, my girlfriend, also an artist, has been very supportive as she urges me to keep cool. She logically explained our advantages on this matter. She has never coerced me into doing something that will jeopardize our situation. And most of all, she does not want me to spend too much for her... a striking contrast to others who took advantage of me. I guess she is a God-send. I am indeed blessed with her.

There will be a lot of praying for me to do before I start off towards the path of being a full-time artist. Lord knows how frightened I am, right now. It feels like wearing a blindfold while stepping off a cliff.

It is time to hone out my social skills and get a move on with things, if I want to launch a business side of my art. I am now officially open for art commissions. I will soon post my price list here on DA and on my blogs.

Keeping my fingers crossed, I can exert a lot of effort though it can only take me so far. After that, it is the good Lord's grace that will take the wheel and keep on driving.

God bless y'all!
I couldn't bear to finish it.

The bastard.

Seriously, the director wasn't only cruel, he was also mediocre and unoriginal. Gosh, he had to use a kitten to put something "new" in his film! Doesn't he know about CGIs and animation? Or how about cleaning up the script so that the drowning scene won't have to be shown and the storyline would imply it, instead!

The point of the film was about hypocrisy, and how people would react to the killing when they eat meat and wear leather on a daily basis. Good point, yes, but VERY BAD execution. The director claims that the kitten is ill, but where's the proof? There are more humane ways of euthanasia (like taking the kitten to the vet...) than just mere drowning.

I hope that bathtub gets haunted by an angry, wet kittie to scratch the director's eyes out! I've heard the Hungarian government is currently investigating the matter.

One American GI supposedly asked one of the house girls, "Is it true that Asian women have horizontal pussies?"

Her reply was, "Why? Are you a harmonica player?"

It was 6am last week, I was sipping my morning coffee and my hair bedraggled when I heard about the Virginia Tech massacre. Some deviant wrote about it on her DA journal asking for prayers for the families of the victims.

Immediately, I turned on the cable TV to CNN and watched as students wept while cops were surrounding the campus. My initial reaction was "WHO, not 'what', drove the gunman to do this?"

A few days later, further investigation revealed evidence that the gunman kept referring to a certain "you". Whoever that "you" was, deserved the bullets instead of those innocent victims.

With that kind of incident to top off last week's hell of a PMS, I knew it was time to embrace more of the lighter things in life. Just because I could not afford a gun? Nah, just kidding. But seriously, by being pessimistic about my current situation, I am also making my loved ones feel unfairly ugly. Being too hard on one's self means the presence of loved ones is not appreciated.

Thankfully, I still have a job, despite how crummy it is being in a government zone. It's all about the moolah, now, that made me sign the contract renewal. C'mon, who on earth would work for the government with "all their heart"? It all boils down to money. Period.

And with that money, I will do the exact opposite of the V-Tech gunman. Instead of a gun, I'd buy a plane ticket to Manila and spend some sweet cuddle-time with The Loved One. I know this will bring a better result than having to deal with over 30 dead bodies.

I should be posting something new in here. Yep.
A: Because it said 'concentrate'.

I slept at 4am this morning and woke up at 7. Reaching for my cellphone, I texted the Loved One a snuggle-text before having a breakfast of tuyo and rice. I haven't had rice-meal for a very long time, except maybe when I had a fish-bone stuck in my throat, three days ago. I had to swallow gobs and gobs of rice to get rid of the bone.

Anyways, I skipped work, today. Just for today. I'm still having the hang-over of a long weekend vacation, thanks to the Holy Week celebrations in my country. I did not go easter-egg hunting, though.

And something about an unpopular DA account allows me to be loose with what I write in here. And with what I submit. I won't have to worry about watchers who are out for a good debate/argument every second of their lives. I talk about a certain music, some DA fool comes up and vehemently tries to prove why that music isn't music. I talk about a movie, someone sends me a note why I have poor taste in films. What the hell. Each to his own, ya dafty! Sometimes, I just love the visual silence on this toon account of mine. No drama. No hang-ups. And most especially, no stalkers. Just plain and simple. **hugs this account**

So, I'm off to creating more art and having a great time. Summer is here, and it looks like everyone is busy busy busy. Summer classes, the national elections, and yes, church stuff for the vacation Bible school. Well, at least, on that last part, I only get to draw stuff for kids and not really interact with them. Lord knows how harrowing it is dealing with kids these days. They watch too much TV, to begin with.
