I definitely think that when I paint someone, they sorta look a bit like me. I've certainly seen the same thing in at least one other artist. I'm not sure if people who draw in typical anime or cartoony style would get this, I'm thinking more realistic styles.

It was then that I realised I haven't completed a full traditional-style painting - the sort with full backgrounds, and no lineart - since 2004. I've done a handful of character portraits, but as far as I'm concerned, they don't count :p

So I've decided to do a painting, and with any luck, this time I'll finish it. Time to see if I've learnt anything from doing all those comic frame backgrounds! :) ]]>
