I am going to break the rules a bit, but I'm trying to honor this whole tagged thing the best I can.

Random Facts:
1) I like cigars (other than that I don't smoke). My favorite kind is called Acid Nasty. Cool name huh?
2) The last car i owned was white. I've owned 3 white cars! Maybe I should try other colors?
3) I have colored my hair blonde, and blue. I liked it better blue.
4) Cold, long winters with a lot of snow depress me!
5) Most of my ex-girlfriends' last names end in "Y", but I don't know why.
6) This random fact thing is harder than it looks. (And that's a fact)
7) I have used every version of Microsoft Windows, except Vista; which I don't care to use. I've heard way too many bad things about it. I am determined to make Windows XP the last I use, Microsoft went crazy when they made Vista. After the success of XP, they should have improved upon it. Instead, they made stupid cosmetic changes, and other changes that no one cares about.
8) I don't like playing poker, but it's fun to watch.

I am really looking forward to stepping outside without a coat or sweater or hat or anything. Heck, maybe I'll go out shirtless. I love sun, I love warm weather!
Not to even mention... summer brings with it: green grass, beautiful skies, lovely flowers, and so much beautiful light for me to photograph.
I love natural light, it's so much easier to work in than using a flash. It seems to just be all around... bouncing off buildings, off the ground, off everything... and it's so nice and warm, not like flashes and light bulbs which give my photos a blue tone, and usually make harsh shadows. (And yes, I do know you can correct for that, but I'd rather not.)
Summer is oh so welcome... oh, won't you please be here already?

It makes me feel like a million bucks to get your comments on my art.
I don't usually make resolutions and stuff, but if I did, I think it would be along the lines of being even more helpful to others... commenting and encouraging more people to continue creating art.
I don't expect to get rich making art, and I don't think most of my friends do either, but I do art because it makes me happy, and sometimes it makes others happy too.
I do art, cause it's just in me... waiting to come out, whether that's onto a paper or canvas or photo or even a blog. The rest is a bonus.
Yes, I do have dreams to make art into a career, but my beginning point for anything is a passion for creating something new, something hopefully fresh and new, something that shows others how I feel and see the world. Usually something to make others smile. That in itself is a rich reward.
Ok, well I think I've rambled enough.

I got a free subscription! I think it's for a week or a month or something, it's the trial that DA gives all deviants randomly... But it's still cool. So I thought I'd start with that...
It's still winter though... I guess somewhere it's warm. And that's a happy thought. I thought I'd write again, not cause I have alot to say, but because I am tired of seeing that Cold November entry. And you all probably think I'm really depressed. It's not that I'm NOT...
OK, so think happy thoughts. (You can tell it's a real struggle for me, can't you? ARGHHHHHH)
Well, it's not all bad. I have a wonderful girlfriend. And she just got in her first semester grades. She's doing great, lets just say that. I didn't ask her if I could post her grades. She has such high expectations of herself that she would probably only let me do that if they were all A's. But they're very good. Nothing to complain about for her first semester of professional school(she's becoming a veternarian). She's so smart.
I haven't done as much artwork as I'd like to be doing this winter. I feel like I should do at least 5 photos a day and 3 photo-manips or computer graphics a week. But I'm way behind on that goal.

]]> ~artstew http://artstew.deviantart.com/journal/10712216/ http://artstew.deviantart.com/journal/10712216/ Mon, 13 Nov 2006 13:22:49 PST Whereas summer is fun with the sun tanning, spending lots of time outdoors, being active, taking lots of photos, etc.... all I have to look forward to in the winter is nosebleeds, dry skin, being depressed, shivering, cold noses, wet socks, cold toes, windy days, cars getting stuck/ sliding into guard rails and other cars, cracked dry lips, dry scalp and dandruff. And even though I don't have all these things at once... which is great, I don't want any of them. Especially no more nosebleeds. Last year I had 5 or more spontaneous gushing nosebleeds. Let me tell you, by the end of the winter I was paranoid and only wore red shirts... no I'm kidding about that part, but it was aweful. I can't tell you how embarrassing it is to be helping someone find something (I worked retail) and then for them to say... Umm, your nose it bleeding. And then as soon as they would say that I'd get a drop of blood on my white dress shirt and I'd put my hand up to catch it, and get a handful of blood, which I'd have to carry all the way to the bathroom.
I hope I haven't grossed you out. Last winter was aweful. And i hope this one is better, but it hasn't been all that great so far. I just got a sore neck from thinking about last year. Winter is hell.

(very VERY slowly mind you, lol) You understand, right?
How is is that I have not submitted any journals again? Weird. Is DA deleting them or am I crazy? (Is there an option for both dude? lol)
Well, anyways I'm journaling now.
I've been busy lately with looking for jobs, visiting my gf who is away at college, and as always pondering my next art project. Right now, I'm excited to continue learning GIMP, cause I'm too cheap for PS. Eventaually I'd like to get into making flash animation as well, but I think I'll have to actually pay for software for that, so I'm holding off until I have some money for that.
I'd really like to go back to school for Animation or Graphic Design. I should start next fall or sooner, provided I get loans. I really think I'd like making flash animations for a career,(is that a job? LMAO) but I have really no experiance using that software. WHOOPS! My main background is in photography, which I took in high school and has been a hobby for at least 7 years. Then I also have a bit of experiance with PS, Illustrator and GIMP, mainly GIMP because it's what I use at home. But as anyone who knows me will tell you, I'm sort of a computer geek and can learn new software quickly... ya know?
Most people on DA will tell you that their passion is art, but I often wonder how many people have the commitment to it as well. I know could finish a degree in computer networking and be decent at that, but first passion is in art, and I'm sticking with that. Art is life for me. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. I have always had a reason to design, create, draw, and color, although my methods to do so have evolved with technology. That's my secondary passion after all, new technology and how it changes the way we live. Where will it take us next?
Please comment in my gallery if you can. I appreciate my friends who watch my new deviations, it's a joy to have people to give and recieve ideas from. I'm sure you know from experiance how rewarding it can be to get even a small comment on your work. Don't be afraid to tell me what you think, I know nothing is perfect, theres always some room for improvement.
