I've also been sort of feeling like this is another fork in the road as I go one way and I say goodbye to college life and the semi-social life I acquired while in school. I'm sad to see it go because I know things will never be the same after this. I've never had such good friends before and I hate to say goodbye to it all. I don't know, I think this has been contributing to my depressed mood and disheartened look of where my near future is headed at the moment. To all my friends I have made I don't want to lose touch and I know that it is very likely we will probably drift apart because that is the nature of life and relationships.

I'm hoping that as I transition into this unknown that I can find somewhere that I belong and find happiness wherever and whatever that may be. I wish the same to all of my friends as well!

This means it's spring break and drawings for me are coming... Hurray! Finally I get to do something for myself.

So I was working away at Monty and decided after being horribly distracted that I should go to my room and get a few hours of sleep since then this has been my day:

Ordeal #1:
-As soon as I walked through the door to leave Monty I was checking my bag to make sure I got everything. I hopped in my car and the red light I realized I might not have my cintiq pen. So I pulled over and looked through my bag and couldn't find it so I turned around ran up to the third floor frantically looking for it... Alas wasn't there went back to car and sat there until I went through every inch of it until... Success I did have my pen.

Ordeal #2:
-On my drive home I got honked at, almost fell asleep at the red light, and almost had two accidents.

Ordeal #3:
-Sleeping: for some strange reason I was having difficulty sleep despite the fact that I'm dead tired so sleep wasn't as restful as it should have been.

Ordeal #4:
-Everything seemed to be going okay until after shopping and running errands... I ran into a pole with my car scraping it along the side while trying to park...

Right now I'm finding it near impossible to finish my work:
(I'm going to need a miracle)
-I have three scenes left to clean and color for my film
-3 drawings for World Mythology + presentation
-12 ft. of animation of a dog and human interacting

So for now I guess it's the bus for me since clearly I can't drive. Oh Monty bus I hate thee so!!

So perhaps things will get better?

On an entirely different note, I'm being plagued or haunted by two characters, Brina and Keer. They are two Henge characters from the RPG (role playing game) I'm running. They keep showing up in my dreams and I'm starting to get annoyed with how much they plague my mind. Brina more so than Keer since she's my character. It's like they talk in my head or scenes play out like a thousand different ways. Normally, this is fine but right now I can't handle it since they aren't leaving me alone. Then as I'm thinking I keep getting distracted by thinking about Brina and how she wants to talk to Keer... (and so on). I think most of this problem is due to the fact that I haven't really gotten to play her since there was no game last Friday and the few conversations that I ran with her apparently weren't enough... Sigh... I've never been this bothered by a character before. Also I'm addicted to listening to songs that pertain to the two of them, which really isn't helping. I'm finishing the last session this coming Friday and hopefully after that I can concentrate on my work once again. Hopefully at least...

On top of all of this there's another campaign that I want to play with a friend of mine and I haven't been able to talk to her much about it or the character I might want to play...

My life right now is just frustrating... oh well. I think not really leaving my room for an entire week hasn't helped me either. The only outing I got was Walmart shopping on Friday. So that's probably contributing to the problem as well.

I'm going to be putting up a lot of reference pictures of Italy that I took on my trip. Either my sister or myself took all the photos and I'm giving completely open permission to use them for anything you want.

Here’s the journal of my trip to Italy for those of you who are curious to know what I all did and where I went. To describe the trip as a whole it was definitely an amazing experience where I got try and see a lot, but the most difficult part of the trip was taking pictures since most of them were taken as we were walking or on tour and in many of the buildings it was prohibited. I also survived the entire trip in flip flops climbing several steps and walking cobblestone streets. I hope you enjoy reading about my trip.

Day 1-2: Travel and Venice

Today we left the house by 12:15 pm to get to the airport to travel to Atlanta. After reaching Atlanta we had a two hour wait until our 7:30 pm flight. We flew through the night and landed around 4:45 am which was 10:45 am in Italy so I really didn’t get much sleep that night (three and a half hours to be exact). The plane was definitely uncomfortable to sleep in. There was little room to stretch out and everything felt so cramped. After we landed in Venice, we boarded a water taxi to take us into the heart of Venice. It was great. I loved the wind blowing through my hair as the boat soared over the waves. We arrived at the hotel and met Patricia (our guide and coordinator for the week), but the rooms were not ready yet so we explored. I was blown away by the beauty of Venice and one nice thing is you never have to worry about being run over since all major transportation is by boat. When we got back to our rooms I crashed for a two hour nap. We then went for our introduction of the group that was all on the tour at the introduction they served Bellini which is champagne and peach juice. Both Emmy and I tried it but it was definitely not our cup of tea. At the introduction we received our “whispers” which are radios with earpieces to listen to the guides on our tours. I felt like a secret spy with a ribbon of my tour group screaming to everyone else, “hey I’m a tourist. Rob me!” After the introduction we left for our group dinner. We walked through the narrow streets of Venice until we came upon a small family run restaurant. It was here that we were served a five course meal with wine. I tried the wine with my meal but I struggled to eat most of what was on my plate since I wasn’t that hungry to begin with. It’s now the end of the day and I’m off to bed.

Day 3: Venice explored

Today we left for Murano Isle by water taxi, which is where the last of the glass blowers work and produce. Sadly glass blowing is a dying art with only 15 men currently left because it takes a 20 year apprenticeship. We watched a glass blowing demonstration and it was fun to see a couple of pieces come to shape. Afterwards, we toured through their warehouse which certainly didn’t look like a warehouse with polished hardwood floors and selves of glass pieces. We did select a few items as gifts since it was only here that we could get the real hand blown glass. Most of what is sold all over Venice is from factories. Afterwards, we took the water taxi over to St Mark’s square or San Marco Piazza. It was here that we visited the doge’s palace seeing several rooms with painting by Titian and Tintoretto. We even saw Tintoretto’s “aradise” which is the largest single canvas in the world. When we finished touring the palace we entered the church of St. Mark. The church was dark and the ceiling was decorated in gold mosaic tiles in the Gothic style. We then walked down to the Rialto Bridge, where we ate at a pizzeria. When then wandered the vast streets back to our hotel, where we dropped off our stuff and then head back out to explore and shop for Venetian masks. The story behind the masks is that they were used when husband who were too busy with work would hire castrates to escort their wives to balls. In order to avoid scandal they would were masks. The castrate escorts were retired opera singers who had become castrates to maintain their high voices. After selecting a mask, we went on a gondola ride and were paired with another couple Sharron and Larry who were traveling without their kids. On the boat there was complementary champagne but I declined since I was taking pictures. While we were sailing along, we heard the sounds of an accordion player and singer. When we got off the boat we had our first taste of gelato, which is like ice cream but better. Then we explored the train station located across from our hotel, and walked back to the hotel. Tomorrow we depart for Florence.
