Does anyone know how I can prevent this? I pick the thing up to play and end up trying to tune for 30 minutes and never actually play. It's disappointing.

Either way, what an archaic tuning method, just a peg in a hole. You'd think they'd have at least put gears on it by now.

Basically, I have to:
1 x Publish these rules in your Journal

1. I have too many instruments, but I play them all. Here's a list in order of competence: guitar, piano, accordion, banjo, violin, mandolin, ukulele, cello, trumpet. Plus some more that I am good at but take no skill: tambourine, harmonica, maracas. I write my own songs and barely ever learn other peoples. Ha ha.

2. I have dreams to one day direct my own feature length animations based on my own stories. Ideally, I'd have my own studio. I DREAM BIG BABY.

3. I'm not a big fan of hot weather. I don't know why but I get hot really easily! Anything above 70 and I groan. Right now I live in Massachusetts which has a pretty cool climate but I'd like to move farther north one day, don't know where though. And I want to have a river running outside the window to my bedroom so I can listen to it at night!

4. I'm not a big fan of cities but the way the world is, and the animation industry, I'll probably have to live in one if I want to get anywhere in this field. Plus I can't drive and ride my bike everywhere so I can't live in the middle of a forest and work from there like I want to. Ha ha.

5. Speaking of which, I ride my bicycle everywhere and I am proud of it. Someday I want to ride my bicycle all over north and south America, and then all of Europe and Asia. Maybe Africa one day but it's so hot! And dangerous!

6. When I write stories, I almost always start with a context/situation and a theme I want to show, then base the plot on that, and the characters spring up out of necessity and purpose within the story.

7. One of my least favorite things about living in the city is that I have to put pants on when I go outside. I never had to do that when I lived in the country and my house was surrounded by trees. One of my favourite things is that I can ride my bike everywhere!

8. Man the last one is always the hardest! Hmm. I'm "clean" ha ha. As in, I don't smoke or drink or anything like that. In a month I'll be turning 21 but I'm still not gonna touch a drop of alcohol. But don't worry if you do, I wont dislike you for it. Just an something I hold myself to

Although I should probably tell you guys what Ten-Thousand Masks is. Right now it's jsut an artist group created by myself and *TehKiah. Now it includes, sort of ~YanYu and =fox-orian. Eventualyl we're hoping for it to transform into an actual studio for animation.

It was pretty awesome. They dress as super heroes, and at one point they fought their arch nemesis. it was awesome and hilarious and I smiled the whole time [although I'm usually smiling anyways]. Great band to see live.

In other news, I start college a week from today! I don't have a lap top so I don't know what my access to scanners and such will be. Probably good, considering I'm going to an art school. And I might be working in the CPU lap there which would be convenient.

Also, I finally finished War and Peace! 'Twas awesome. I highly recommend it to anyone who has the patience to read such a long book.

I also read Battle Royale, which was quite good. I read it in three days because it was heart wrenching, haha. There were so many good characters, and due to the nature of the book you know that thye all have to die [except a few of them] But still, a great book.

Anyways, I hope you're all doign fine. I've been drawing, just nothing worth posting. All my concentrated effort is going towards my comic. So as for my near future, art college is where I'm aheaded. Spcifically, the art institute of boston at lesley university [not to be confused with the New England Art Institute]. It seems like a good school. They seem like they have a really good attitude towards comics, which I havn't seen in a lot of school. Also they have an amazing animation area, which I dubbed the "animation dungeon", because it's like a basement completely dedicated to animation. This is something that I have not seen at other schools. Plus, the illustration and animation curriculums are related, so I'll be able to take lots of classes in both. ALSO since it's aligned with lesley university I'll be able to take some good creative writing courses, which is imporant for making comics of the calibur I so desire.


but still, I don't knwo exaclty what to do. Illustration or animation? I'm saying illustration for now, but I really would liek to create/write and/or direct and storyboard films someday. That takes a huge crew though, for the msot part. I mean I coudl manage maybe, but not with animation. Making a huge animated motion picture takes years even for a company like Studio Ghibli. Ah well. I think sticking with illustration and comics will be best for now.

P.S. 90 degree weather is FAR TOO HOT. I miss the mid 50s.

It all kind of makes me wish that those people back in the day were right about the earth being flat. Then you only had to worry about falling off the edge, which is a pretty simple task. At least compared to dodging asteroids and black holes, and exploding stars.

Maybe we'll develope a way to travel into space. If we don't kill ourselves environmentally, we've still got a lot of time [though not compare dot how long the earth has been alive], but if not our decendents ain't lucky bro.

All this in scientific theory anyways. I prefer to save any religious topics for personal/one-on-one discussion.
