I feel like my comic making abilities are really lacking T_T
I don't know if it's just my inability to make really nice line art, or my crap-toning... or several other things that may contribute to its over all mediocrity
So I think I'm just gonna do some basic, bland drawings to improve my line art and toning skills. Critique for that would be appreciated... just keep in mind they will be pretty basic drawings so don't say "make something more exciting." No. I want tips on the line art and toning. If I want extra critique, I will mention it in the artist's comment.
And once again I feel bitchy *facepalm*

I also have the urge to start some of my original comics... but I know nothing will ever get done if I do that Though I may still do some teaser pages for 'Cirque Noir'. I'm not gonna say much about it since the story is still in the works, but it will be a action/thriller/horror kinda story... I think. I'm not really good at categorizing genres.

In other news... do any of you remember me mentioning that I am in a Halloween play? Well our first show night was yesterday. It was awesome! Everything went well! ... well other than us all freezing our asses off lol (we do the play outside) but it was super fun. We still have three shows tonight and I am still bloody excited. I love doing this. The whole crew is friendly and fun. It's a total blast! I'm actually sad that after tonight I'm not gonna be around those people anymore T^T February better come quickly so we can all get back together for Follies (they all seem to want me to be in Follies).

Oh yeah! Updates! Sort of ish...
First on the docket: commissions! All done except for 's. Feel free to harass me to get that done. But with only one commish left to do, I feel much more free. Which brings us to...
The second thing: doujinshi. You may be happy to hear (or just not care at all, that works too) that chapter 7 is complete minus toning. And as for the redraws, they're going well :3 The very first page is completely redone and looks way better than the original. There's also a few more underway, just to show that I'm not completely useless XD
I just have one question. Because I'm doing redraws, some of the paneling and even bits of the story (very minor bits mind you) are subject to change. Meaning, there are going to be a different amount of pages. Okay, so you're probably thinking, that's not a bad thing. Well, it's not. It just means I can't replace the old pages with the new ones, I'd have to upload each redraw as a new deviation and I'm kinda worried that may confuse everyone... I don't know what to do about that...

So I'm not getting very far with any kind of drawings An apology to those who commissioned me is an order. My bad. I know I need to get them done >_o I should really start scheduling myself so that I get everything done.
Not to mention I still have that art trade with that I need to finish Oh man, I'm slow... AND (yes, there is more) I have two drawings to do for my dad as well as one for my cousin. And here I am doodling random junk in my notebooks. I fail at prioritizing lol
As for the doujinshi, I started working on some of the redraws... not very much though. I've kinda been ignoring it lately Seriously people, you gotta harass me to finish things!
Ugh, I miss my doujinshi T3T ... I wanna update so bad and I can't. Maybe I'll ask for a scanner for Christmas and then I'll have one for the second semester.

On a completely different note, I'm in a Halloween play my residence is putting on I'm the female lead. .... but that's not really what I wanted to say XD I'm actually doing a drawing that's kinda inspired by it and I'm pretty happy with how it looks so far :3 My drawing style is changing slightly to incorporate the ability to differentiate physical features (mainly facial) and my men are starting to actually look like men! I know! It's a miracle!

My goal was to have it all put together before Christmas.... but lack of scanner kinda kills that hope. I think I'll change my goal to having the redos completely drawn out as well as the rest of chapter 7 by Christmas so that I can scan that all when I go home for the break.

And I also have 3 commissions on my plate. No worries though, they are getting done... sort of XD I have one complete but it needs fixing in PS but ya know, no scanner >3>

On a totally different note... I feel like doing a whole bunch of morbid, creepy photography... but I have no one to help me. My roommate's scared of me and I have no friends yet.

So just a bunch of activities. We needed to do a canoe race. So of cpurse these three big and\or tough looking guys volunteer to do the paddling. They see the river (gross looking) and find out they have to paddle with their hand and then one opts out and the two start thinking twice. So of course I decided to be the hero and go in the canoe with the two guys. Right near the beginning of the race this huge guy from the other team jumps out of his boat and flips ours. We were soaked!! .... and we had to drag the boat around XD lol Was awesome though. I was the only girl who had the meaphorical balls to do the canoe race so a bunch of people cheered me on. I proved I am not a pansy!!! ... everyone else there is though XD
Okay that was the highlight of my day.

I still have no information on scanner usage at the college so updates are still off. And that makes me sad because I drew this awesome pic of Yami yesterday D: I'm so proud of it and want to show you guys.

I think it’s about time I took a stand in this debate. I will not walk the fence anymore. I am too tired of hearing people bash Christians for their beliefs and use the Bible to okay their sins. It’s not right.
Let’s get one thing out of the way, I do not consider myself Christian. Yes, I grew up in the church but that doesn’t make me Christian. I believe in their morals, I believe in Christ.... that still doesn’t make me Christian. I believe you have to adhere to all the rules, or at least try to, to be a real Christian. And to all the so-called Christians out there, it is mostly you who muck up the real Godly view on this subject. Know where you stand before you speak and don’t take on a title you don’t deserve.
Now, from what I know, the Bible mentions homosexuality in two places, Leviticus and Corinthians. In Leviticus, God calls it an abomination; a detestable sin. In Corinthians, it is also called a sin. I’m sure a good chunk of you are thinking “Well times have changed, that doesn’t apply anymore.” Well, you’re wrong. God hasn’t changed. People haven’t changed. So why should the rules on sins change? They don’t. God and his rules are constant. If they weren’t, do you know how much more bloody confused we’d be? A lot! “But what about all that stuff about how it’s wrong to eat certain foods and not have a beard and so on?” you say. Well now you’re talking about old customs. Don’t mix customs with sins. There’s a big difference. Customs are the one thing that is subject to change and are merely a social standard. Let’s look at today’s social standard where we’re expected to sleep around as much as possible with whoever we feel like. If you don’t, people think you’re weird. Despite it being how people act nowadays, the Bible still says that sex before marriage (fornication) is a sin (this is mentioned in 1 Corinthians). So you see how customs and sins tend to differ? Good.
“You biased gay hater!” How many of you who upload traditional values have heard that? I know I’ve heard it a lot. So I think I should address that. I don’t hate homosexuals or bisexuals. God calls us to love every person, but to not okay their bad behaviour or their sins. I have several friends who are gay or bi, I still love them. They know I’ll always be there for them when they need me. So for the love of God, all you pro-gay people, stop bashing Christians. If they do hate homosexuals (the people themselves) then they are not real Christians so you have no right to bash Christians.
And one more thing, and this bothers me the most. Why are we called haters or accused of being narrow minded the second we state that we disagree with homosexuality? I mean, there are some who go out of their way to shove their beliefs down your throat, and I don’t believe that’s the right thing to do. But, from what I’ve seen in my life, we just have to have a moral opinion to be bashed. What’s wrong with having a different opinion then the gay community? And that is all it is, an opinion.
Who’s really narrow minded?

But to all you people whose opinions and morals differ from my own, yet still respect mine, thank you. I do not hate you, in fact, I respect and love you.
And to those who hate me for having the opinions I do, I will still love you.

My work schedule changed so now I’m not home until about 9 pm meaning my drawing time has diminished even more. Also, working with kids is not my forte. I come home every night feeling worn out and pissed off so I usually want to just pass out.
What does this senseless whining mean? It means I’m not sure if my updates will be so frequent anymore.
I have some drawings I owe people and I’d like that to take priority over my personal work. So for the next couple of weeks I’m gonna try to get those done.
I do have a few random pictures and pages to my doujinshi that are already completed. During the next few days, I’ll just be updating with those.

I kid. I love you guys.... but I also really love clothes too....
I don’t know about you guys, but whenever I buy new clothes, I always want to draw some of my characters modelling them. I know, I know, a lot pf people think it’s a ver Mary-Sue thing to project your wardrobe on your OCs. To those people: good for you. You can continue giving your characters ugly outfits. As for me, I’m going to dress them nicely ^-^ (yes, my clothes are that much hotter than yours).
Now don’t get upset people, I’m just messing around. This is my true nature: to be indirectly rude!! .... although I also lie and joke a lot You’ll never know what I’m truly thinking! Haha!
Okay, I’m done being stupid.
But I may still have some characters model some outfits just for the sake of working out some design inconsistencies. Because, I don’t know if you guys find I can produce and reproduce (meaning draw time and time again) the same characters well, but I don’t find that to be apt. They always looks different to me on some level and it bothers me. I think it’s the eyes. I don’t have an exact way of drawing eyes yet and it bothers me to a huge extent. I just can’t settle with a set of eyes for any character. I always change the style. That’s my biggest inconsistency right there.
Also, I think I need to work on my clothing folds some more. They kinda bother me too.
And noses.... seriously, I misplace characters noses all the bloody time! I think I need to stare at people’s faces more. *leers*

Whatever.

Anyways the end of chapter 5 for Tasogare will be up tomorrow. Then, sorry to say but the doujinshi will go back to few and far in between updates. Why? Starting on the 15 I got a job. It’s a 12 week thing so as soon as I’m done, it’s straight off to college. My only time to draw will pretty much just be the weekends.
Now about chapter 6... This is where the action starts. Now I’m not very good at action-y scenes (seriously, it’ll probably look really sad) so critique and tips would be a huge help.
Bleh. I only half planned out the chapter so far. I really gotta finish the storyboard *thinks violent thoughts*

Erm, down to business then. This journal is regarding my doujinshi. What doujinshi, you ask? Nah, you're not asking that. I only have one.
Anyways, it's about the upcoming chapter five. I'm warning you all now, chapter five is nothing special. Nothing really good happens in it. It's just a set up for chapter 6. And trust me, it needs it. So instead of uploading one page at a time with God knows what kind of intervals and watch your faces contort in confusion and\or boredom, I will upload the chapter in sections. That means you get a bunch of pages all at once. Unfortunately, that means the intervals will be longer to give me enough time to finish the needed amount of pages.
So this is the plan:
Pages 1, and 2 will be uploaded seperately (because they won't confuse you)
Pages 3-7 will uploaded all together.
Pages 8-10 will be uplaoded together.
Pages 11-14 may either be uploaded seperately or together. Depends how I feel.
Pages 15-19 will be uploaded together.
Page 20, probably seperately... or maybe with the last bunch.
Pages 21-22 will be uploaded together, ending the chapter.

Yup. That's the plan. I don't know how long it will take me to draw that many pages at once, but... hey, I'm hoping not long. I want to get through chapter 5 quickly so we can get on to more interesting stuff.... like chapter 6 ^-^
So please be patient with me and the story for the time being.

I gave myself a schedule so that I complete artwork on a regular basis. I wonder how long that'll last until I stop following it >_>
Well if I do follow it!... I should get an average of 6-7 pages of my doujinshi out a month. So that may not sound much to you, but it's a lot to me so deal.
Also, I'm gonna work on designing some outfits for most of the characters in Tasogare (I can't stand sticking to one outfit or one basic style. It's boring) So when I upload the concept sketches, feedback would really be appreciated, mmkay? Or, if you guys have seen some awesome outfits, link me to some pictures. Ideas are always good. Even if you think "Oh this looks cool... but it's probably not so and so's style" link it anyways. There are still characters yet to be revealed. Plus, some of the characters just might wear what you'd least expect them to

Nurr... Getting ready for College is turning out to be quite expensive (stupid tuition and residence fees DX)
I don't know how I'm gonna pay for it all. And don't say get a job! You have no clue how bloody difficult it is to get a job in this town. There's only like... 3 stores here (a confectionary, movie store, and grocery store). Although there is a small chance that I may get a summer job... but I'm not feeling too hopeful.
So.... people, any money making schemes you know that you could share? ... please? I need to figure out how to make some moolah.

So I've been looking at different styles lately and you know what really catches my eye? American comic style. I never used to like it, but for some reason I do now. I kinda wanna try my hand at it. Only thing is, I learn new styles through copying. Meaning I'll probably have to copy poses for the first while of drawing in such a different style. I know I already reference quite a bit, but this is a little more I'd like to... but I really wanna try american comic style T^T
Are you people gonna get all upset with me if I start heavily referencing professional work until I get the hang of the style?

And this doesn't mean I'm saying goodbye to my current style. No. I'll still be drawing the way I normally do.... way more than the new style.

And to everyone who looks at my art, if you think I’m an art thief by copying or stealing someone’s character design or having my character morph into someone else’s, could you at least have the metaphorical balls to tell me? That way I can fix things immediately instead of having shit pile up and bite me in the ass all at once.
But there is no way I’m an art thief.
Now this may sound mean, but think about it. Is your art or character design so damn good that I’d actually try to steal it? I doubt it. I’m far too vain to copy someone else. Not to mention my superiority complex stops me from emulating people I don’t think much of or look up to.
Yeah, I reference... POSES. That’s all. All my characters are based off of me, people I know in real life, or my ideal. That’s it. Your characters don’t fit into that. Of course your art may inspire me. There’s a small chance of that. But I don’t copy.

Yeah, yeah, I know I sound vain, blah blah blah. Watch as I totally not care. Being accused of art theft is very insulting.

I don't know why, but I can't draw guy hips. I can draw the upper body and the legs, but I can't tie 'em together T^T
Yeah, yeah, I know I do draw the odd full body guy, but I cheat by drawing clothes covering the male musculature. Normally I draw a naked body and then add clothes, but I don't do that for guys >3> I must learn how to draw guys. 'Cause all female artists should be able to draw hot naked dudes!! It's an unwritten rule

I love the human body. It's such a gorgeous piece of machinery. And I do not mean that in a sexual way!! DX
I've bean studying correct anatomy a lot lately. I bought a book entitled Anatomy for Artists. Best 13$ I ever spent. It covers pretty much everything an artist should know about the body. And it uses the correct terms for all the body parts.

Now I just recently discovered this artist named Andrew Loomis. What a terrific artist he is! He even put out several helpful art books. Now I normally support the buying of books instead of reading scans off the internet, but his books are out of print so....

He is a realism artist, but his studies of the human body are wonderful. That link should help anyone with trouble drawing the human body :3 I know it helped me.

I want to redraw a bunch of my original characters and give them specific\unique body types and features. I blame Yoshihiro Togashi for that. His work always makes me wanna do that He's gotta be one of my biggest inspirations =^^=

I'd also like to start creating my own comics, but.... we all know I have much more to learn before I do that Doesn't help that I'm too lazy to write out the story beforehand either
I have a bunch of story ideas written down in point form, but nothing concrete. I must learn how to become productive. Darn it, people, how do you kill procrastination?!

Ya see, I take this online courses cuz my school is too cheap to teach them in a normal class. Well, the whole point of the discussion forum for the course is to put up your opinions and critique other's work (in this case poems). Well, everyone gave their own opinions and critiqued each other's work... and then I come along and critique and get my head bit off -_- HOW DOES THAT WORK?! I was being polite too! I really was trying to be as nice as possible!
Well, this one girl gets on my back about it and starts bitching at me, so I kindly re-explain myself, trying to clarify that I meant no harm. And then she really gets in my face about things. And the morning that I read her rude reply, I was in a bad mood, so that didn't help. SO I got really pissed with her, tired of being nice with this bitch and told her to f*** off.
Heheh well I get to school this morning and go see the principal. Yeah, I got a suspension for swearing in the discussion forum. Oh man did I ever laugh Then we phone the online teacher so I can explain myself to her. Talk about not being impartial. She was such a bitch with me! Geez. I must really suck at making friends

The doujinshi is about me and Kurama (from Yu Yu Hakusho). There will be little romance in it since I'd rather make the story more believable and not some mushy crap. Some of the other YYH characters will come in later and I might add some of you guys or your OCs later on if you ppl like it.
The storyline will pretty much revolve around the bonds of friendship, rivalry, hatred and love and the thin line in between, and testing the goodness within a person's heart. (you'll also get to see how I act in real life )

Sunday morning I had to get up early and go to school to meet up with the rest of the group. We were nine students and two teachers (I go to a really small school, okay?) then we set off for our ten hour drive down to Toronto. I'm so happy I didn't get carsick =^^=
When we finally arrived, we headed to the residence we were staying at. Talk about crappy! There was a freakin' beware of rats sign! Then we headed out to see Spiderman 3. It was good... but really long. A couple of my classmates fell asleep
Monday we headed to the Skydome and the CN tower. I fell asleep during the Skydome tour I'm so bad for that.
I hated the CN tower. I'm afraid of heights. That's all I have to say about that. Then we went to Much Music. I was on TV! But I looked pissed and tired... 'cause I freakin' was! I hate Much Music with all their freakin' prissy wannabe singers music and they didn't even have any seats for us even though we had called months in advance and we had been on our feet since 9:30 AM! Then we went shopping and I bought something like twelve or fourteen manga books ( I'm so obssessive)
That night my buddy Dan headed down to a little corner store and had a funny conversation with the cashier.

Cashier: So where are you guys from?
Dan: Smooth Rock Falls
Cashier: ???
Dan: Y'know where Timmins is? An hour North of there.
Cashier: Wow! You guys are way up North!
Dan: Yeah. We live in igloos.
Cashier: ... *thinking* Really?

Tuesday we visited the international academy of design and technology (sort of a let down -_-) then we headed off to Stratford.
I was sick so everyone else went to go see a Shakespearean play. Theu all fell asleep! Evening my english teacher who just adores Shakespeare!
Heh heh. I scared the hell out of my room mate. The room was small and square and had a built in counter and sink (which were also small). I had the lights off (cuz I just adore the dark =^^= ) and was sitting on the counter trying to sleep (cuz I'm weird and an insomniac) so when my room mate walked in, she didnt see me. She left the room but still had her hand on the knob. Being as silent as I normally am, I slipped off the counter and pulled the door open. You shoulda seen how high she jumped It was so funny! She jumped at least a couple of feet in the air
The Wednesday we did some more shopping and headed to Sudbury (lame day... but I did buy a kendo sowrd =^^= )
Then today I visited a couple colleges before coming home.

I was kicked out of class today because of that (it happened yesterday) and I can't go back until he talks to my parents... again! He phoned them yesterday! What more does that idiot have to say?! So now I'm stuck doing these big pointless projects until I go back. Thank God it's only last period, that way I can just draw instead of working then run home before I see his ugly mug
Anybody know how to cope with anger? Cuz I don't and need help.
