I am going to make an effort to be more active on here- HUGE apologies to anyone whose comments/compliments/questions have gone unreplied/unanswered- I am hugely thankful for each and every one, I am just not in the habit of being on this site- I am going to make a concerned effort to start to interact with people more here. There are so many very awesome artists.

So yes. Old comments will be replied to today, so if you see any... months-old comments of your suddenly getting replies, this is why.

So, I am in a pretty tight spot right now and need a bit of help to get a new one. I don't believe in relying on others (I have never asked for something-for-nothing before) and have been doing the best I can to raise money in my offline/non-art life, but as I said, I'm in kind of a rough patch, and it will take a while to be able to get a computer in my current situation.

I will be sending out a small, postcard-sized print to everyone who donates- I don't know what the art will be of yet, but it will be akin to the kind of things in my gallery- i.e monster/surreal work (just so no one ends up let down by the subject matter), and won't be uploaded anywhere else. So if you're not comfortable donating and just want to donate to buy a print, this would be fine too! Prints will be made when I have access to Photoshop and a fast computer to handle a high-res filesize- I do not know when this will be, but it will happen- so please be okay with a bit of a wait!

Either way, if you donate, please include your main email address as well as your mailing address so I'll be able to reach you about mailing out a print (in case your address changes between now and then).

My paypal is oobyscoobydoomsday[at]gmail[dot]com- I am sorry, but I cannot accept credit card payments.
A few times, people have said things like this over IM:

"I drew something inspired by your style/based on your work/influenced by your designs, I wanted to know if this was alright with you."

So I'll say it here- it is absolutely fine with me.

If you draw something that is inspired by my style, based off of my character designs, or influenced by any other aspect of my art, I will in no way, shape or form be bothered or offended. I know that there are artists who are sensitive to having their character designs copied, having their style mimicked, or having some area of their artistic identity used by others- I am not one of those people. Even if you want to go so far as to directly copy my style, designs, and methods- this is fine with me. I don't think it's particularly healthy for people to do that from a growth standpoint but if it's what you would enjoy doing, I don't have a problem with it.

I don't think that my style or designs are particularly unique (and I'm not saying this in a self-deprecating way- I just like to draw what is fun for me and what I enjoy, this is my hobby), but if someone is able to take something from my work for their own, I'm flattered! I honestly haven't noticed anyone influenced by my stuff before (aside from a few things people have shown me over IM or whatever), but, I wanted to post this up here anyway.

Thank you for reading!

Edit: Oh yeah also- I haven't been feeling at the top of my game for quite a while and have had a hard time responding to people or keeping track of things, I am in no way trying to ignore anyone at all.
First off, I have to apologize for long delays in responding to people- between work, commissions, and real life my life has been really hectic and time (and energy) has been enormously limited. It's not my intention at all to blow anyone off, and I appreciate your patience as I get everything sorted out.

A while back I found a bucket that looks like Batman's severed head, and I've been filling it with short sentences or one-word prompts on scraps of papers. It's been my plan to kill off writer's block by pulling a few out at a time and seeing where they lead, which, so far, has been working out pretty well. However, I need more suggestions- I would like to have this bucket completely filled up! So, give me some prompts to put in. Examples of things I have so far include "a murder mystery", "a scientific development", "a character whose actions lay at odds with his motivations", "disgust". It doesn't matter how dumb you think they are, you never know what sort of inspiration they could kick into gear.

Please don't suggest anything you'll be pissed if I actually use. So if your awesome character is, like, a hairdresser who is secretly a half-dragon ninja, please don't suggest that.

It's really poorly sorted and not in chronological order, but I'm working on that.
Here is a list of forty prompts I'll be drawing from, cobbled together from existing lists I found and suggestions given. I'll be doing these on-and-off between various life obligations, but I do plan to finish them all. I saved all of the suggestions in a .txt file on my desktop- they're all really great prompts and I plan to put together a second, more 'fun' list later on once I finish this one up.
I'd like to do one of those "drawing prompts" lists (ala this sort of thing), but I can never seem to find a list I like. At the same time, it feels like it takes away from the challenge if one makes their own prompts. So, please suggest some words/short phrases/expressions to me- I'll probably put together a list of around 30 prompts, so I can't guarantee I'll use all of them, but any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Also, if you're looking for a challenge in regards to technique, check out *muura's art challenge meme here- I'm hoping to slowly make my way through the list, so far I have.....one finished. I can't tell if it reminds me of Sin City, or a My Chemical Romance album cover. I'll post it later.

On an unrelated note, does anyone here know of a good site to order custom postcards? This may become drastically relevant in about a month and a half if I can get my plans together.

I do love meeting new people- don't be afraid to IM me or send me a note- I also don't judge people on art skill, so even if you don't draw in any way, shape, or form, I'm not going to hold that against you. I've seen quite a few artists push people away because the other person doesn't draw, or doesn't draw well- 'good artist' is a relative term, so even if you don't think your art is very good, I'm sure I'll probably find things to like about it, and I'm sure I'll like you, too!

I do like drawing gifts for friends, but please don't make requests or expect to get free art out of me- I really need to be inspired in order to create art of any reasonable caliber, and if I can't find the right inspiration, chances are that it won't be fun for me to draw said image, and it will undoubtedly show in regards to art quality. And it should go without saying that I don't make requests of other people, unless they explicitly state that they're open for requests.

I do love gifts and keep every single one printed out, and either in a big folder on my desk, or pinned up on my wall. Every single gift I recieve is greatly appreciated- if you've ever drawn something for me and I haven't commented on it, please let me know, because I will never disregard anyone who's shown that level of kindness- so if I haven't commented, it genuinely means that I simply haven't seen the image in question. I love all of you and the support from friends is one of the greatest things that I value in my life.

I do take art trade requests, for the most part- this I am a bit picky about, not in regard to the skill level of the person I'm trading with, but in regard to the effort level- I try to put forth my best effort with art trades (and often do go 110% in my art for other people- if you've known me for any length of time, you'll know that I literally go through dozens of revisions sometimes to get the perfect image). That said, sometimes I finish art trades that day, and sometimes it takes a bit of time, depending on how inspired I am, what's happening in my life at the time, and how my overall mood is doing- but I will get the image done- and if you're really desperate to get my half, ask me for an oC session- I often do work faster if I have the person there to work off of.

I do have a problem with disorganization in some regards- so if you really do think I've forgotten about something I owe you, please let me know- 99.9% of the time it really is as simple as me simply misplacing the notebook that I keep my 'to-do' list in.

I don't like arguing/fighting with people- if you have any sort of issue with me, please note me privately so I can work it out. I don't dislike anyone and I certainly don't want anyone to think that I do- so if there's any sort of issue or I've offended you in any way, please let me know and I'll do my best to repair the situation.

I do take commissions, but am even more anal about putting forward my absolute best effort when I know I'm being paid for it- so I will turn down commissions if it's something I don't think I'll be able to do justice towards. That said, I will draw most things, barring outright pornography or depictions of extreme violence or bigotry in any way, shape, or form. Tasteful or artistic eroticism/violence is alright- pornography and outright disembowelment/torture is not. I'll have commission prices posted shortly, with any luck- if you're really interested in commissioning me before then, please note me privately and I'm sure we can work something out.

I hope that's everything- there are things I've wanted to get out there for a while- I had a bit of time to kill this morning so I figured that I might as well write everything down and post it up.

First of all, thank you so much for the fav's and comments I've gotten on my gallery lately- especially the Daily Deviation! I'm extremely flattered that so many people enjoy my work!

Regarding trades and commissions... Right now, I do accept art trades and commissions (please note me privately if you're interested in either), though I'm somewhat back-logged on the art I owe people, so I can't guarantee the quickest turnaround. I'm always interested in openCanvas sessions with people- feel free to IM me and ask about it, as I like drawing with absolutely anyone and everyone!

With that out of the way, I guess I should insert the obligatory introduction for anyone visiting my page for the first time. My name is Felix, and I'm a 20-year-old college student from New York- I predominantly enjoy drawing monsters, creatures, televisions, rats, and stripes, but that's always subject to change.

Also, and it feels almost tacky asking this, but is anyone willing to buy me a paid account? I'll gladly draw a full CG or two in return!

And for the sake of my own sanity, I feel the need to plug Jennadelle and Schkyzm- aside from being amazing friends and awesome people, I get a huge amount of inspiration from them, so please check out their work if you haven't already.
