started today uploading the old stuff that I mentioned in the last journal-entry. it turned out that there are more good flames than I thought, so I make a few collections. all that flames were made some years ago, before the apophysis-community started to came up with tons of new variations and stuff , so I feel a bit sentimental about them. "good old days"? no, not at all, just old days <g>. so this is sort of saying goodbye to the old apo-style. if you look in the apo-galeries today, you can guess in which direction the next apo-versions will develop. I think that is thrilling and I´m very curious where we will be in 3 years! and if I will still like the old flames then? A few, thats for sure.

so have a nice day... and some nice last weeks in this year. maybe you don´t hurry yourself to death buying christmas presents... or burry others with them.. maybe you just have a nice time the next weeks without that commercial crap. then we will meet here <g>!

I have still a chaos on my computer with my apophysis-parameter, so I will upload some old stuff the next days, pics that I have made years ago and that I still like. don´t worry, that are not much . then I can start with something new. it´s nice to be here again.

I deleted a lot of messages, so if someone expected an answer somehow, I´m sorry, everybody can be sure that I am always happy if someone makes a comment, adds me to the friend-list and so on. Looked around here, it happend a lot! All the new apophysis-stuff, wow - and I did read the text from DragonWinter about the ripping, was very interesting and informative. I will upload some new pics in the next days, starting this evening. In the moment I´m ill, but not yet ill enough to lay down in my bed, so I can be on the computer all the time and surely will be as long as I have no fever or something <g>.
At the moment I make many experiments with all the new scripts and plugins that the community made in the last half year, feel like a child getting lot of presents on christmas lol! have a nice day!

I´m getting better, slowly but steady. Now I´m a little bit familiar with the ideas that I can find in the tutorials I worked with in the last weeks. I still have the feeling I´m just a beginner, and that means a lot of fun, cause there is much more to discover ! There is nothing worse as if something becomes boring because you have already seen it all... and the fractal artists I watch - sometimes I think: that is so stunning that it is impossible that there can be more improvement... but then the next day there is an image that is even more stunning; well that proves it again, its a rule in general, not just in fractaling: you always can get better.

now I´m totaly hooked on this flip-the-disk-method, all the recent flames I´ve uploaded are done with it, and in this moment I´m rendering some more, some more, want some more! you can put just *everything* in that disks! and that´s exactly what I´m gona to do, so it seems <g>!

want to tell you something about one of the flames: it´s named after that flesh-eating plant, the venusflytrap = Dionaea Muscipula. I had no idea how many sorts there are, looked it up at wikipedia, just a few examples:

Dionaea 'Big Mouth',
Dionaea 'Dente',
Dionaea 'Jaws',
Dionaea 'Red Piranha',
Dionaea 'Albino',
Dionaea 'Red Dragon',
Dionaea 'Bart Simpson'

So now we have one more, at least here in our little fractal
garden: Dionaea Fractala, just discovered .

So the next thing I am going to do is reading again the disk-spiral-tutorial, maybe now I can follow it, and also the dragon-egg-tut.

today I finaly understood the tutorial of joel faber - yeah if you confuse DISK with BLUR, that may be a veeery good reason for a flame not to appear like it should <vbg>! So now I can create such flipped disc, and I have to say it´s just great! this night I will play more with that new toy, now just a short stop here to update the journal.

some of you asked me how I did this pic and that pic... and if there are tutorials...

first I have to say about this: I don´t think that I´m very skilled with apophysis, there are arists around here that are miles ahead (e.g. the faber-family, I just mentioned one above!). I still have a lot to learn, e.g. I can not write scripts, want to learn that when I have some more free time.

so the next I want to tell you about that subject is: The pics I have done until now were born while playing with the programm and watching the editor, that is method no. 1!

yes of course you have to read tutorials (even if I don´t understand everything, there are always some hints that are usefull), and it is very usefull to be on the list, to read the forum and so on, but in the first line you learn from practice.

example: this egg-series - there is no special method to create them (someone asked me about that), I just found one flame by accident that looked like an egg that inspired me, and then I began to play in the editor. it tooks one evening to create this 5 shapes, I enjoyed that very much , this software is just adorable! It´s a little bit like to have a stone and make a sculpture out of it.

here on dA is a whole apo-department:

[link]

check this out if you want to learn more about apophysis, especially the Resource Links, there you can find some tutorials.

and not to forget: some variations you can just use in the tweaked versions of apo (because of this, I just use the Zplus-version).

so have a nice sunday!

just updated my galery, and while apo is rendering the last pic for today I read a little bit in the new tutorial from joel faber - flipped disked - no it don´t works for me, nothing happens when I do what its saying, but I´m used to that, most tutorials work not for me, I´m obviously to stupid, that´s all, so nothing to worry about . now I came back to my galery... and lot of messages and comments, well that´s great that you enjoy this pics so much, that´s what they are for !

a view days ago I was the first time in the apo-chatt - nice idea to share parameters and everyone makes an own pic of it, want to do that again! I will not often have the time for chatting, but I´m looking forward to the next time.

now I´m tired, it´s 5 o clock in the morning here... I don´t finish that render, it has to wait til tomorrow, and tomorrow I will read all you wrote to me my dear dA-s . have a nice time.

totaly new here, so I´m not familiar with the habits here... but it seems to be like at renderosity: lots of comments and thank-yous and so on... kind of political correctness -

so I don´t want to be rude, but I have to say that I will not start that bevaivour over here. If I like an image, I will add it to my favorites, I think that is the best comment at all. And if I don´t want to miss if one of my favorite artists posts something new, I will add him to my watch-list, no need to make a fuss about it. So please don´t be offended if I don´t reply every entry you make.

I´m kind of moving from ReRo to this place here, because this really *is* the best gallery of this kind I know, especially if we speak of art! So I´m curious about if I will settle down here for longer . In the next days I will stray around here, in the first line in apophysis-gallerys, already looking forward to!

and finaly: because of english not being my mothertongue - if I sound funny please just tell me and make me laugh about it , I just can improve if one corrects me.

so enough blahblah for tonight... want to wander around...
