new promotion going on to try journal skins, so I'm going to give it a shot.

I have so many projects I want to start lately. I want to try making sculptures out of wax. I want to experiment and see how hard it would be to make wooden go bowls. There's a giant stump in my back yard that I told my dad not to destroy so I could make something out of it, but I don't have any ideas at the moment. For some reason, I decided it would be a good idea to start up the 100 poem challenge again...

They had all sorts of events on move-in weekend, including a picnic, fireworks, pizza, smores, guitar hero, ice skating, brunch, a magician.. a scavenger hunt.. lots of stuff that was lots of fun

I don't know too many people at the school though, so I've been kind of bored sometimes this first week. I was totally planning to catch up on the drawings and stuff I was going to do, but I realized that I didn't bring my art stuff up to my dorm. Hopefully I will be able to get that this weekend, and hopefully I'll still have the motivation to draw.

I still have to finish my drawing for :iconslivyfunx:, sorry I've been taking so long. I have it penciled out though [link]

As far as art goes, we started working in pastels a few weeks ago, and I'm having fun with the colors. We had the male and female models again, and this time I had fun drawing them in all sorts of funky colors. The one that I really like is just the woman's back drawn in blue and orange.
I also have a really awesome one of a turtle, where I was experimenting with blending the colors to make them as realistic as possible. But as it turns out, doing that really takes a lot of time, so I don't know if I'll actually finish that one.
One of my friends pointed out to me that it's probably my art class that's taking away so much of my time, and I think they may be right. But at the same time, I enjoy it so whatever. Either way, two more busy weeks and I'm done.

They should be easy, it's just the sheer volume of them. Those are for a take-home test which is our only grade since it's a one credit class.
And I have to go to a museum for a class tomorrow, and then write three more easy essays for THAT class, hopefully not due on Monday.
I'm taking a break right now. I just got really frustrated at the homework when I got one of the first problems wrong (the problems are in order of difficulty) and realized that I should take a break.
And I'm trying to remember if there's a math test on Monday. I have no way to find out, so I'll just have to study like there is, and there probably is. I don't want to fail another test. It's funny, normally my math grade is about a B because I slack off on the homework and ace the test, now it's probably a low B because I'm working my ass off on the homework and still getting Cs on the tests, except for the one I failed completely
I hate this class; I hate this teacher; I hate this homework. I'm starting to wonder why the hell I want to go into math. Is this what awaits me if I continue to study math? Maybe I should go into art like I was thinking about before...

Oh well, whatever, I'm just venting. But I feel better now, so I can probably get back to work. Most of this is my fault anyway for procrastinating on it. It just sucks.

So the teacher told us all to get some and we would try it out in class.
I tried it and I love it; there were like three or four times that I just kinda went 'woah, this is so cool!' It's a thin sheet of see-through plastic and it's very slippery and smears easily, which makes shading and blending really fun. The only thing is that you lose your white space easily with how much it smears, but it's also easy to erase so you can just get it right back. The drawing we're working on is a skeleton. Hopefully I will be able to finish it soon and show it off
Oh yeah, and I submitted three of my drawings to my school's art show. I'm hoping that they'll be accepted to be on display

Another thing, I'm going to be graduating at the end of this semester. I got accepted to either St. Cloud or Mankato for fall of next year. Right now I'm leaning toward St. Cloud and either way I'm excited about possibly living on campus.
Oh and another thing, I got accepted into Phi Theta Kappa, an honors program at my college. It's always nice to have these little things to pick me up and show me that all my effort is worth something :)

I think I learned a lot in that class. The teacher didn't really teach us anything so much as let us figure out how to do things by ourselves, which was annoying at first, but once I kind of understood what she wanted I really liked it.

I invented him years ago and I posted the first issue of "Pummel the Super Ferret" here when I first signed up, but I actually made many of them, so I have decided to post the rest

The drawings are supposed to be cute and cartoony so they are drawn badly on purpose. and yes, he does not look like a ferret...
that being said, I think I went too far and the drawings just look sad.

I have also found out since I wrote them that ferrets eat mice. All in all I was in junior high when I wrote these so cut me some slack

So enjoy, or don't, but check them out.

Lately, I find myself shifting away from photography and into writing. This doesn't suprise me; my interests tend to change rapidly. Maybe I'll get back into photography soon.
Really though, the reason I haven't been posting much is because of my book. I have been writing it for some time and recently got back into it. I posted the first part of it (please give me feedback) but I still have a long way to go. Who knows if I'll ever finish it...
