One of our old famous writer called Alexis de Tocqueville wrote that when a society is only interested in buying goods and forget that the life standard and life quality is linked to the society life and that a society is not only a group of persons but much more, then a man that can make illusion but just want the power can easily come. This is exactly what happened sunday in France with our new president. I know that Italy had Berlusconi who was the same type of guy and I am sad for France. Democracy doesn't deserve that !!

Within less than two days we will have a new president in France. If N. Sarkozy, from the right, is elected and he probably will, this will be a very sad day for France. This man said that commit suicide or beeing pedophile come only from the genes and had nothing to do with your past, whatever you faced before in your life. He also proposed a law to test children of 3 to know which of them will become thiefs. This man thinks that the relationship between people is always conflictual and that the strongers only can be right. The problem is that he uses very well the media and very few people have red his program or his talks. He plays on fear, on egoism and he probably will win. Poor France !!

I love Franz Kafka and I was really fascinated by "the castle" and especially by the "the trial" where a man is accused and juged without knowning what is accused of. This man was really visionary because years before he described what could now happen in the US with the new law voted this morning by our great democracy supporter George !!

Thank you George for having made real this Kafka vision and I hope that one day it will be your turn !!

There are now many pictures on DA concerning the demonstrations of students in France. Many of them show violent facts but the reality is that the demonstrations are very peaceful and that violence concerns only a very small minority. This lead me to the question of the responsability of the photojournalist who are seeking for strong pictures even if it shows only a very small part of the truth. I think that we should be more conscious of that and feel more responsible about that. There is no "civil war" in France but a strong, huge and mostly peaceful movement against a stupid law.

Yesterday I participated to the third demonstration against a new law voted in France that allows any employers to fire people aged below 26 immediatly without any explanation. An ultra liberal policy is supported by everybody around this crazy world and this drives me mad. The poorer are becoming poorer and vice versa the richer...richer. I am very proud that the young french took their future in hand and that they refuse such law. Many workers and almost everybody in France are with them. I hope that this is the end of our stuborn prime minister and also the end of this crazy right party that cares only of the richer and of the stock exchange.

I tried modestly to report this hope in my pictures.
I will try to make a kind of photographic report, not with the 400 pictures See it as a whole because some of the pictures are not very good out of this context. I hope you will enjoy it This is tokyo viewed by a tourist but I hope not only that I love this town because it is a mix between modernity and tradition. You can find young women in kimonos just in front of huge department stores or electronics shops. You can also find very small shops with people making food "outside" and this reminds you that you are in Asia !!
Last sunday I found again the way to the lab, the enlarger and the chemistry. This is really a different atmosphere than a scan and a screen. The dark room, the odours and also the time needed to obtain only one good shot (4 hours spent for three shots ).

I have only one advice : TRY THAT !!!

This gives another and complementary approach to photography than pure digital picture (that I like to).
