Could be that I'm extremely lazy?

Currently I'm in the final year of my degree, and I'm taking Animation as my final project.
I'm not creating a 3D nor flash animation, but I try to create animation style similar to anime.

It's quite though actually because I need to do the research all by myself. In 5 years of studying here I only gather only few basic knowledge of animation, while others are programming and IT business related subjects.

Although I do regret that I dont get the knowledge that I longing for, thank god the university give the students opportunity to choose their own Final Project. At least I still can pursue my ambition rather than follow whatever they lay for me.

Many people dont realise that whenever they step into a world of college or university, they actually can no longer depend on their teacher/lecturer. There are no longer a side which give the knowledge and a side which accept the knowledge. Difference between student in schools and students in university/college is that student in university/college are actually researcher! So do the lecturer!.

When in class, student in uni/college should listen to whatever the lecturer teaching in front. Once the class end, the student should research whatever they got in class before and deep the knowledge deeper. The reason is because all the lecturer only teach basics!

If you do get an A without digging deeper, you only masters the basics! nothing else. Until you dig deeper, you can never do anything 'real' with the knowledge you got other than completing given assignment. This is very true for programming related subjects and software depended subject such as 3D animation.

Anyway in my country, which is Malaysia, finding institution that offers animation related classes, especially 2D Animation like anime is quite though. If you do have the same ambition like me, which is creating Anime, remember that whatever University/college that you end up to, you can always persue your dream as long as you keep researching, practicing and work hard.

I just uploaded my new artwork, Inuyasha - Waiting for a new journey. Details about it can be read on the comment of it.

Currently I'm too obsessed with Car Stereo (ICE - In Car Entertainment), lately I just spend my money for it only.. from CD Player Head unit, speaker, pre-amplifiers, totaling almost rm300. Sometime I think it a waste f money, coz with that money I could spend more upgrading my computer for my graphics project. But I'm really satisfied with it, compared to the old stock stereo system. It is more superior after I compared it with my friend Proton Waja and my sister Proton Savvy stock sound system! haha.

Nah... enough about it, now I'm got ample time to the the graphics work, coz I got only 2 classes, which take place every monday to thursday. That means I got Thurday night, Friday, Saturday,Sunday and Monday morning till 8.00pm to do my work! Its ample of time, but yes there is always an obstruction that always gonna interupt this time (sometimes takes a whole week!) but I just have to bare with it.

Its pretty slow for me to start painting again after breaking for almost 1 month, but I hope i can do more better than last time.

my first paper starts at 24 March (Monday) and the last paper at 31 March (Next Monday).
Got 5 papers total.

Many things has happen this semester that give me big impact on my life. First, it was the deviant Art. As I joined, I've start drawing more frequently, and most important is drawing Digitally!. As of today I've done 8 fanarts and original artwork which I couldn't drew even one last semester.

As the exam is around the corner, my productivity is slowed down plus other assignment and project dateline is very near.

I may start to produce artworks more aggresively starting next short semester (starting around April~May) as I take 2 subject only, thus got many free time to do the art.

If things goes well, I'll post my latest artwork this week.

Damn! I call my art masterpiece?? It's like Sky and Earth, its like my art was a plain rubbish.
Now I know I have to do something. I need to improve, but the way I do now is nothing but keep stall and overconfidently happy with the low class artwork.

So now I realized that I need to back to the basics. Instead of creating full color fan-art wallpaper, I now starting to go back to black and white sketches. Learn and polish back how to draw faces, eyes, body etc2 so that I can draw more quality artwork and fan-art in the future.

If time permits, from today on, I promise that I'll keep posting black and white sketches everyday or at least 3 times a week. This will keep me drawing so I could improve faster.

First of all, why I join deviantArt?

I used to draw with traditional pencil and Postercolor coloring since my schooldays. I draw fanart of various anime and games, but at that time i just "copying", means I draw it based on reference 100% without alteration.
After that I've stopped drawing at nearly one year, although I still creating graphics such as wallpaper. Several try to revive my drawing, but it just last for several weeks or even days..

Then on several days before Aidilfitri celebration September 2007, I manage to buy Wacom Intuous 3 tablet. Because of it expensiveness, I've gradually try to draw back although is a bit slow. Psychologically motivated, on mid January, I decided to open DeviantArt Account, revive back my stupid trying-to-make-money blog to normal, and be active on Animewallpaper forum back, which I was inactive since 2006.

My first real digital drawing was Evening landscape, created with Painter X, originally created for my Ah! my goddess wallpaper which I post on Animewallpaper forum. Unfortunately, the drawing does not blend well with the characters, and the wallpaper was taken into halt.

Then, I create new wallpaper which was based on Bleach, starring Ichigo Kurosaki. The character was handrawn, which is considered as fanart as I draw it on my own. The step by step process can be read on my blog.

After that, I create one more bleach wallpaper, which features Ishida Uryuu. This time I trace from 2 different screenshot of the episodes, but fully vectorized. You can view it on Animewallpapers forum. Sooner or later I'll post the wall on my blog.

By the end of January, I receive a request by a forumer of Animewallpapers to do a Kratos VS Cloud fanart. The reference are good so its fairly easy to do them, although I need to define their pose using Poser (software). The step-by-step process can be read on my blog too. I'm very happy that the wallpaper was accepted by the requester. He even give me rep which I dont expected. A few days later (the day before I post this) I decided to upload it on DeviantArt. After a few hours the wall being favorites by 4 users! Can you imagine how happy I am? hahaha! The next day 2 more user add as favourite too! Its small in number but it really make me happy!

I hope this will get me more motivated to do more drawings in the future!

Oh, by the way, please comments my drawing as I need it to improve my skills.
