so you know when i said my comp was fixed? yeeeah, well when i tried to turn it on the next day, it was kaput again. so i guess it was just a fluke when it turned on that one time. and when it rains it pours, 'cause my bf's comp has been dead for a while too, so i can't use his either. he's buying new parts tonight, though, so he should (*crosses fingers*) have it up and running in a week or so. right now i'm hijacking my dad's computer, much to his chagrin. meanwhile, my camera is OVERFLOWING with photos of charms that i need to upload. i'm saving up for a new lappy, but that'll be a looong time coming. i asked my parents for some financial help in that direction for my birthday a couple days ago, but that didn't pan out, so poop.

let's see, i'm sure everybody is hating me by now for being so slow with your orders. i swear to gawd, most of them are done. i just mailed a couple today, in fact. and the only reason i was so slow with those is 'cause i lost the return addresses i clipped out, and only just found them in a bout of frustrated cleaning last night. sooo if you've already sent me payment in the form of a trade (you know who you are) then i just sent yo' stuff! :3 everybody else, your stuff's pretty much done and i've got the photos sitting on my camera. my dad doesn't want me mucking up his hard drive with my crap, so i'ma have to wait until my bf gets his comp put together, and then i can steal that and upload the photos.

ok, so i realize that it's tough to part with money sometimes, especially for something so... unnecessary as charms or jewelry. buuuut maybe it's easier to part with stuff? like dvds you've already watched, games you've already played, anime paraphernalia you're tired of, etc? so here's my proposition: i'll trade my charms for your stuff!

of course, said "stuff" needs to be in good working condition. i hate it when games or dvds don't have cases and cover art and all that good stuff, and if they're so trashed that they're not usable then that doesn't really do me any good. dirty, nappy plushies or mangled manga is no fun either. anyways, you get the point.

so here's a list of stuff that i'd specifically be interested in trading for. i'll update the list as i come up with more stuff, so check back every once in a while. please don't feel restricted by my list. if you've got something you think would make a good trade then run it by me. i do loooove random miscellaneous stuff. and the worst that can happen is that i'll say no. politely, of course.

1) Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE dvds
2) Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE manga (volumes 11+)
3) as a matter of fact, just about any Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE merchandise (posters, wallscrolls... it's my latest anime obsession)
4) Rurouni Kenshin merchandise (not dvds, because i already have them, and not Samurai X, because i don't like that artstyle)
5) Inuyasha stuff! (manga, figurines...)
6) Tales of Legendia (ps2 game)
7) Gunpey (ds game)
8) just about ANY Kingdom Hearts merchandise
9) Inuyasha: Secret of the Divine Jewel (ds game)
10) Elebits (wii game)
11) Excite Truck (wii game)
12) Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo (psx game)
13) FLCL/Fooly Cooly/Furi Kuri dvds
14) Samurai Champloo dvds
15) Inuyasha (psx game)
16) Breath of Fire III BOX/COVER ART. game is optional. (heh, long story. the jist of it is that i have the game, but not the cover art, and it's bugging the hell out of me.)
17) feh, i keep thinking of TONS more stuff, but i always forget it before i manage to list it here.

i realize that some of this stuff is fairly pricey. but hey, i might as well list it. if you're willing to part with one of the more pricey things then you'd obviously be getting quite a few charms or some really nice jewelry for it. but don't try to rip me off here. anime doesn't cost $30 per dvd anymore, for example. i'm sorry if you paid that much for it, but if you did then you're a sucka (it's okay, i've paid that much for anime in the past too). to determine the actual "trade value" of stuff i use eBay, because they've generally got the best prices, and if i could get something there for $10 then why would i instead trade $30 worth of charms for the very same thing? right?

it's also worth noting that i don't care if anime is english dubbed or not, because i don't ever watch the dubs. i also reeeeeally reeeeeeeally rrrreeeeeeeeally prefer anime boxsets (unless you've got a whole series on individual discs, and you're willing to part with the whole thing). it saves room on the shelf, and it's easier to get a hold of entire series..es ( O.o ) that way. and it's cheaper. if you've got the whole *fill in the blank* anime series on individual boxed dvds then sorry, but i'll still go by the eBay import boxset price, because, after all, it's the same thing (to me, at least). as long as the subs are good. none of that wierdo literal translation, grammatically incorrect, incongruously synchronized stuff.

oh, and please don't try to pawn burned copies of stuff off on me!

ok, so you've offered a trade, we may or may not have haggled a bit over the value of what each of us has on the table, and we've come to an agreement. what now? i'll treat it like any other commission. i'll make your charms/jewelry, take photos, and upload them for you to see. if you are happy with them, you send your trade stuff (please pack it well, so it's not wrecked by the time it gets here!). once i get the trade stuff, i'll look it over or test it out or what have you, and if everything's in good working order then i'll send your charms/jewelry! you won't have to pay postage on what i send, because you already paid postage on the stuff you sent.

what about art trades, you say? hmm... well... that's a toughie. see, there are TONS of artists i'd LOVE to do a trade with. seriously. i mean, i'd fall all over myself if i was offered a trade from one of them. but... not from anyone/everyone. i've been turned down for art trades before, and... it doesn't feel too good. so i don't like turn...

wheee, i thought it was finally time i put some of this down in "official" terms, 'cause people keep askin' and, first of all, i have to keep repeatin' myself, and second, half the time i can't remember what i said the last time i was asked. >_< i'll keep updating this Q&A as necessary, so... yeah.

I'm interested in buying...

Q: How much for ________?
A: Unless otherwise noted, prices are as follows:
charms: $5
earrings: $12
cord necklace: $10
cell charm: $6
Some charms cost more, and some cost less, depending on how involved and complex they are. I'll always say in the pic's description if they cost more/less. If you buy multiples of the same thing, liiiike a whole bunch of duckies, then for every 4 you buy, the 5th one is free. because things are easier to make in bigger batches.

Q: Do you take custom charm orders?
A: Yes! Note me with a description of what you want, or a reference pic of a character you want charm-ified, and I'll get back to you with a price.

Q: Do you take custom jewelry orders?
A: Yes! I do beading, chain mail, and a leetle bit of wire work. Just be aware that if you want something like a charm bracelet/necklace, cluster earrings, or something that involves multiple charms then it is on a per charm basis. Note me with what you want, and I'll get back to you with a price.

Q: How much is shipping, and will you ship to ________?
A: I will ship to anywhere, and shipping is a flat $3. That covers the shipping and the cost of the packaging. Because the Post Office people grimace every time I try to mail something in a plain envelope, and then they make me buy a box or a big padded envelope. -_-U Shipping also covers as many charms as you can possibly buy, because i can stuff a loooot of charms into one of those envelopes. Or a box.

Q: But haven't you said before that shipping is just a buck or two?
A: Yeah, but then I learned from experience. Sorry. If I've specifically quoted you, personally, shipping at a cheaper price then I'll stick with it, but if you've just seen somewhere in one of my posts a cheaper price, then sorry, it's $3 now.

Q: Do you require payment upfront, or...?
A: For a bigger custom order (for example, a very detailed charm of your very specific, very unique character) I might require a percentage upfront, just in the offchance that you flake on me (not that I'm implying anything), so that it's not a total loss. But in most cases I'll finish your order and post a picture of it for your approval before asking for payment. But I won't send anything until after I receive payment.

Q: How do I pay you?
A: I can take PayPal (for an extra $1, because they charge a fee now *kicks paypal*), money orders, personal checks, or cash. The latter three are all at your own risk, because places don't really check anymore before cashing stuff, so people steal that stuff out of the mail too.

Q: How long do you take to fill an order?
A: If you're buying something that is already made, like something that you see in one of my photos, then I can ship it as soon as I receive payment for it. For custom orders, it generally takes me about a week to fill a relatively small or simple order (mostly because the glaze I use looks best with several coats, which takes time, and then to be safe I like to let it sit and harden for a day or two). For larger orders, I still try to keep it under 2 weeks at the very very most. I try. Please don't start raging on me in the offchance that it takes a bit longer. I do get backed up with orders every once in a while, and I do participate in a few art/craft sales, so I also get preoccupied with trying to replenish my stock for those.
Q: Why does this charm cost so little, while this charm costs so much?
A: It's either because of the effort that it takes to make the charm, or because of the materials used. Or in the case of a finished piece of jewelry, possibly both.

Q: Why don't you just make an online store? It'd make things easier.
A: I intend to. I haven't made an online store yet for a few reasons. One, I haven't quite figured out a catchy name for my, for lack of a better word, "business" (any suggestions?). Two, because I wanted to see if it'd be profitable enough to justify buying a domain name and building a website and all that junk. And three, because any reputable place that will handle the "store" functions (like shopping carts and checkouts, etc.) charges for that service too.

dude, it's 5:00 in the fucking morning. why the HELL am i still up.(?)

oh, right. because i just spent the last hour and a half making teh (yes, on purpose) most awesome tiny little chocobo. actually it wasn't a straight hour and a half. it was an hour and a half total. see, i got most of it done at my friend's house at his lan party (yes, it's nerdy. shut up.), but then everybody finished their game of Supreme Commander and up and left. well far be it for me to overstay my welcome, so i packed up and left too, except i couldn't put this stupid thing down because of all the delicate little bits sticking off of it, so i drove home holding this BASTARD in one hand, driving with the other hand, and rolling the window down with god knows what extra appendage so i could yell obscenities at this fucktard who came careening out of the gas station damn near straight into me. anyways, so i got home barelyinonepiece, crammed on the rest of the bird's extremities, carved out some details, and shoved him in the oven. and that's where i'm at right now. sitting. waiting. while the bird slowly roasts.

sorry. i get angry and swear like a sailor when i'm tired.

i'm torn between loving it for it's awesomeness and wanting to forever leave it in the blistering hot oven for the clutchey-drivey crap it put me through. ah well. here, i took a picture before i baked it. i had to cram a paperclip up it's pooper because i couldn't lay it down without mangling the feathers. i'll have to plug up the hole somehow...
and second, sup. so i realize that few people (if anybody) on DA will feel necessary to buy me an xmas gift, but it's easier to make a list here and direct my friends to it than it is to try and think of something each time i'm asked. SO. here's a HUGE selection (for variety) of reasonably-priced (mostly) things that i like, in no particular order:

dvds:

Scrapped Princess (anime)

Tokyo Underground (anime)

X-Files dvds (seasons in order of wanting-ness: 6, 5, 7, 4, 1 - i already have 2 & 3, and deem seasons 9 & 8 not particularly worth owning)

shirts (because i am a shirt-whore. who wears medium.):

Modo-Kun (HAHAHAHA, this makes me happy. )

Viva Miyamoto (shiggy! see, i didn't forget. SOMEBODY still owes me a birthday present. you know who you are.)

General:
1) What's your character's name? doesn't really have one. or if she does, nobody knows it.
2) How old is he/she? 22
3) Is your OC a boy or girl? *checks* girl
What's his/her race? rat/bat. she has lil nonfunctional wings and more batty fangs than ratty buckteeth, but that pretty much does it for the bat in her.

Appearance:
1) If this character were to suddenly become part of the 3D world, and ended up in a heavily-populated area, how many stares would he/she get? i don't think fur and a tail come standard in the real world, so probably quite a few.
2) Is your character considered normal in his/her own world? she's considered very plain. not very noticable at all.
3) What would be his/her most recognizable feature(s)? the wings.
4) Would you consider your OC as attractive? not a bombshell or anything, but certainly not ugly either. just plain. like one of those girls who could be really pretty if they ever put some effort into it, except she doesn't so she isn't.

Personality:
1) Temper: she's appropriately polite, but not chipper. generally too lazy to be riled up. she has an immense contempt for stupid/ignorant people, hates when people try to randomly bully her, and doesn't like being told what to do. she can take a lot of abuse when it comes to that - it really just rubs her the wrong way and she keeps it all inside - but everybody has their limits. she probably won't go into a rage over it though. she'll just make a snide remark or snippy comment.
2) Does your character ever get depressed? not by the medical definition. she's generally too indifferent for her mood to swing too far either way, but she does have her ups and downs.
3) Leader or Follower? neither, really. too much of a loner to be either, but it depends on the situation, i guess.
4) What is the main aspect of his/her personality? above all else, she is horribly lazy and indifferent. that carries over into all other parts of her personality. think of her in shades of grey. hmm, how to explain it... take every thought and every feeling that you have, and turn it into a color. now put a layer of grey over that color. that's the best explanation i can give. it's only once you get to really know her that the grey fades away and you can see the color for what it is. besides that, she's very intellectual and a big nerd. she likes to read, she's a movie & video game fiend, and she loves to tinker with electronic bits. she's also very artsy/craftsy and very good with her hands. she has her inclinations, but she's really a jack-of-all-trades.

History:
1) Does your OC have a family of any sort? guess she must've at some point. she doesn't really talk about them though.
2) Is your character out on his/her own? pretty much.
3) Has he/she encountered any traumatizing events? if so then it clearly didn't faze her too much.
4) What was probably the best time in his/her life so far? well, there was that one wondrous time when nobody bothered her all day... heh, actually she much enjoys travel, particularly to warm tropical climates. she lurrrrves the beach. and she's like a kid on christmas morning when she finds a new thing to build or put together. besides that, her best times are spent on those lazy indulgent mornings (which oft carry over into afternoons) when she can stay in bed and daydream about the small pleasures in life.

Romance:
1) Single? neh.
2) Has your OC developed any romantic relationships? yup.
3) Virgin? nnnope.
4) Does your character like flirting? she secretly enjoys the attention, since it's such a rare occurrance, but she doesn't really mean anything by it.

Symbolism:
1) What animal would you associate your OC with? hmm, a rat, perhaps? dur.
2) Musical Instrument? she always wished she could play the guitar or violin/fiddle.
3) Element? i'd say earth.
4) Planet? jupiter. no real reason. just always kinda felt a certain connection to it.

Showing the Love:
1) Do you draw your character? uh huuuuh.
2) Do you write about him/her? no.
3) Do you use him/her in any rpgs? as in like mmorpgs? no...
4) What other ways have you appreciated your OC? i keep kinda wanting to make little wings and a rat tail to wear, but then i remember how much work it'd take and how lazy i am and how i'd never ever wear them, and then i lose interest. i also keep silently wishing that people would randomly draw her for me, but nobody ever does ('cept this one time. thanks dan! *glee* :3 )

RANDOMIZE!
1) Is your character wanted for anything? she...
