Long time, no new journal entry. Well, I've been a little busy lately. Guess it's time for a little update, just to get my old journal entry out of the way, and to fill you in on what's been up with me lately.

As you know, I'm finally getting a job in January, and all I need now is an apartment in my working place. I already checked out some apartments about 2 weeks ago, but they were all ugly and just not what I imagine to live in for the next 3 years or so. I'll check out 4 more this Sunday, so, I hope I'll find a nice one this time!

I already got a notebook as an early Christmas present. It's SO awesome! Once I got rid of Windows Vista and managed to install Windows XP, I couldn't find the drivers for my awesome video card, it made me go crazy! But I finally got them, thanks to someone from the German South Park community who obviously knew where to look for the drivers, so, thanks again, "kid."! Now, my notebook works like crazy, and so do my favorite games!

Like I already said in the description of my last deviation, I already played through the fifth and last chapter of the Tales of Monkey Island series, "Rise of the Pirate God". And I was just AMAZED! It was such an awesome finale! Telltale Games did such a fantastic job, and I was also fascinated by Dominic Armato's and Alexandra Boyd's voice actings for Guybrush and Elaine. They really surpassed themselves in each new episode! I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn't played the games yet, but I definitely recommend the series to everyone, especially the long-time Monkey Island fans! And I definitely want to draw some more fanart for the new series by Telltale!

As for the rest of my photos of my trip to the USA - yeah, I still got some more -, I wasn't all that motivated to upload more, because I hardly got any comments on the ones I already submitted. So, I guess I'll just try and upload some more every now and then, whenever I feel in the mood for it, even if it takes another 5 months or so.

Gosh, I can't even believe it's already (almost) 5 months ago that I went to the USA! Time went by SO fast this year! Or is that just me?

Apparently, no one caught a screenshot of my 20,000 (or 19,999) pageviews. Guess there weren't any people surfing on my profile who wanted the request pic at that time. Well, too bad, but don't worry, there will be other kiribans.

Maybe I should've posted another journal entry to remind you of the kiriban. There would've been great news to tell - there still are, I just thought I'd wait for the kiriban to be over.

But now I'll tell it anyways: I'm getting a job! In January, I'm going to start working as a psychotherapist-in-training. It'll be education & work in one, and after 3 years, I'll be a psychotherapist. I'm sure it will be tough at first, because the payment won't be that good in the first 6 months. But I've got my family's financial (and emotional) support, so I'm sure I'm gonna be fine.

I'll also have to find an apartment in my working place, because it's too far from here to drive there every day. I'm going to look at some on Tuesday, let's see if I find a nice one at the right price.

In other news, I'm really happy about having December to myself. And not only because the fifth and last chapter of the Tales of Monkey Island series, "Rise of the Pirate God" will be released on December 8th. But I'm really looking forward to this game! I'm also getting myself a laptop, for my apartment then. It's gonna be fun!

As for the rest of my photos of my trip to the USA, I'm gonna sort them out and upload some more before I start working. At least I'll try.

Gosh, yesterday I finished Chapter Four of "Tales of Monkey Island"! That ending... It... blew... me... away! So far, Chapter One had the most suspenseful cliffhanger, but Chapter Four's surpassed this by far! Oh man... and now I have to wait for Chapter Five to come out! And it will be the last! I don't want it to end!

As for news, right now, I only got bad news. Remember I had 2 job interviews last week? Today, I got a negative reply from one of them. Well, I did have the feeling it didn't go well, but still, I would've wanted it. Let's just hope my good feeling about the other job interview will prove to be right...

Now, about the third subject in this journal's title: I actually wanted to upload my USA photos in chronological order. But now, I can't decide which photos to upload, I've still got some good ones from Mt. Lemmon near Tucson, AZ and some of Sedona, AZ. And it's almost been 3 months since I went there! So, I figured, to heck with chronological order, I'll just start uploading my Grand Canyon photos first, so I won't let you wait any longer for them! How do you like that?

Is it just me, or did something happen to the galleries again? I just discovered that the descriptions in my gallery folders (e.g. the Monkey Island fanart or the USA folder) are all gone! How did that happen? Is this a glitch, will it be repaired, or do I have to type everything again? Maybe I should go check the Help Desk.

Apart from that, I wanted to say that I'm going to have 2 (!) job interviews next week, one on Tuesday and one on Thursday. I do hope they'll go fine, and maybe I'll even have a job by November! As for the job for which I applied in July already, they still keep me hanging on! So, maybe now, it's gonna work out for me! Wish me luck!

On a side note, who has got my 15,000 pageviews back then, still hasn't claimed her prize. Her original request was a banner design for her homepage which proved to be harder to realize than I had thought. Since I couldn't finish it for her in time (she had a deadline, of which she only told me a few days before my USA trip), I offered her to draw something else for her - and I haven't heard of her ever since.

So, please, people - I do my best at fulfilling your requests, but please don't let it be anything that has a deadline. I would've loved to draw that banner, but with all that pressure suddenly put upon me, it was more than you can expect from someone who simply offers request pics in exchange for a screenshot. Well, I figured the Feature thingy from my last journal wasn't very popular, as only one deviant kinda asked me to be featured. Today, one week after I posted it. Guess it would take just too long to fill up all those feature spots, waiting for others to ask. So, I just leave it at that and write a new journal entry. By the way, the deviant who did ask was - check out her art!

So, what do I wanna write about today? Let's start with my first thoughts when I look at today's date: Oh my gosh, can it really be that it's almost October already?! Only 3 months left of the year 2009?!? Why does time go by so rapidly? It must be a conspiracy! And now my return from my journey to the USA is almost 2 months ago already! Time just flies...

Talking about my USA trip, as you probably noticed, I've uploaded a bunch of pictures from Disney World this month. I'll probably just upload a few more from Magic Kingdom and then start uploading pictures from Arizona, finally. I might even upload my Grand Canyon photos first, even though they were taken at the end of my journey.

Well, and talking about my submissions, a few days ago, I noticed that my most favorited deviation has reached 103 's! Oh my gosh!! Too bad I missed the 100, I would've loved a screenshot of that historical moment! Anyways, you know what my most favorited deviation is?

People really seem to love those little guys! I've been asked to do a "sequel" of that emoticon, where he really "gets the girl", maybe I'll do that some time. What do you think? I wanna create some real art again, for Heaven's sake!

E.g. I'd love to draw some more Monkey Island fanart, especially now that the new Tales of Monkey Island games have been released. I just love those games! Oh, and probably just a few hours from now, the third chapter called Lair of the Leviathan is going to be ready for download! I can't wait to play it!

So, I'm back once again, this time from the wedding of and ! It was so nice! A beautiful and funny wedding, really! I was glad to be part of it! And kinda by accident, I caught the bridal bouquet... Oh gosh...

Well, now I'm in just about the same chaos I was before I left: I still don't really know which pictures from the U.S. to upload here, and everyone wants to see them... I started uploading them on Facebook, but it's still just too much!

PLUS, I really really want to play through "The Siege of Spinner Cay", the second chapter of "Tales of Monkey Island" right now! I only started last night, after my return. So, this could still take a while, and I don't know if I'm in the mood for uploading anything before I finished this game.

I'm back again, this time from my camping weekend with the German South Park community. It was so much fun! But I needed the whole day to relax, so sorry for not posting earlier. I did upload some sketches I drew in between, though. Anyways, I still have way too many messages to check out: 213 deviations and 117 messages!

And I still had no time to decide on how to upload as many pictures as possible from my trip to America without creating too many new deviations. And I wanna upload some pictures from my camping weekend, too, but only afterwards. As a matter of fact, during my 3 weeks in the U.S.A., I took almost 1,600 pictures! Can you believe that? Well, sometimes I took pics of stupid little things, too, but all in all, that is about 500 pictures per week! I did see many many things, so... actually, I didn't take enough pictures to capture it all!

Oh, and guess what: I'm already planning on my next trip! Less than 2 weeks from now, I'm going to Frankfurt, because a couple from the German South Park community is going to get married on August 21st! And I'm one of the invited guests from the forums! They've been together for about 7 1/2 years now, and it's always so nice to meet them, so I'm really excited to be able to be at their wedding.

On another note, the second chapter of "Tales of Monkey Island" will only be released on August 20th. So, I guess I won't be able to play it before the 24th or so, because I'm planning to spend a few more days in Frankfurt with my relatives. But I really can't wait to see this saga continue!

As for news on my desired job, it's gonna be difficult... I probably won't be able to start in September, as I hoped I would. Maybe I'll get to start in October, maybe not. It depends on quite a few factors, so I'm a little anxious now. But I really really want that job, and I didn't get a refusal yet, so... I'm still trying to stay optimistic!

Now, about my vacation in America! Oh wow, it was so amazing! I totally enjoyed it, every day of these almost 3 weeks! Especially the first few days in Disney World, and the last few days at the Grand Canyon! WOW, it was so astonishing and amazing to be able to see it! It was all just too much for words! And I took soooo many pictures! I'll have to figure out what I do with all of them. I can't upload them all, no way! Well, do you wanna guess how many pictures I took in these almost 3 weeks, for a sketch request?

I'm actually a little exhausted by now. I've been back home for quite a few hours now, but I only was able to write now because the jetlag had gotten to me pretty strongly! Gotta go to bed soon...

So, I'll try to take it easy the next two days... Because on the weekend, I'm going on another little trip, to the annual meeting of the German South Park community. It's gonna be fun! So, don't expect me to do much here before Monday.

Well, today I had my job interview, which went pretty well. I hope I can start in September!

And tomorrow, I'm up and away to the U.S.A.! I'm so excited! Well, I'll be back on August 4th, for 3 days, then I'll leave again for the South Park fan meeting! I'll probably come online in between, but I don't know if I can come online while I'm in the U.S., so... Have a great time!

It blew me away!! It was so suspenseful!!! I'm really looking forward to playing the second chapter, once I come back from my vacation!

I really enjoyed this game! It was totally true to the Monkey Island series, though it's hard to compare it to the classic games!

Prepare to hear many news! There's a LOT going on for me right now. I still have a LOT of unfinished projects on here as well, but I won't have much time to finish them all right now. You'll see why...

Well, first of all, today the first (out of five) episode of the new MI game Tales of Monkey Island is supposed to come out today! I'm wondering how much longer we'll have to wait for the download to be available, though!

But I know I won't have that much time to play it these next few weeks - because I'm going on a vacation! To be precise, I'm going to spend 3 weeks in the USA, as of next Tuesday, July 14th! Woohoo! There were many preparations to make these past few weeks, and there still are some things to take care of. But I got my flight tickets, I got my travel authorization and I know where I'm going to stay. I'll be visiting 2 of the Unites States: First, I'm going to spend 4 days (or rather 3 + two half days) at Disney World in Orlando, Florida - where I'll meet ! We were writing back and forth like crazy in the past two weeks or so, and she organized so many things for me, like the hotel room. If you read this, , thank you once again for everything, and I'm SO excited to meet you!
On July 18th, I'm flying from Orlando to Tucson, Arizona - where my aunt and her two daughters live. They're SO looking forward to my visit, and I'm really looking forward to seeing them, too! It's gonna be a great time, I'm sure of that!

Things are gonna be even a little more stressful for me, though: On Monday, July 13th, i.e. right before my journey begins, I have an important job interview. It will probably decide whether I get a very attractive job in Mid August/September (not sure when it'll start exactly) or not. They seem like nice people over there, though, because the leading psychologist (who I sent my job application to) even took it into account that I'm on vacation! So far, things are looking good, but I'm still a little nervous. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I'll return from my trip to America on August 4th. Actually, I'll get on the plane in Arizona early in the morning of August 3rd, but when I'm landing in Munich, it's gonna be the morning of August 4th. And only 3 days later, I'm going on another little trip - the annual meeting of the German South Park community! This is going to take place in Wiesbaden once again, from August 7th to 9th. And of course, I'll also try to provide you with as many stories & photos from my journey as I can! I just don't know how much time I'll have to catch up with what happened over here on the 3 days between my USA trip and my Wiesbaden trip. I don't even know if I'll get the chance to check my messages in between - and I'd rather not, because I hate logging into DA or the like on a public computer -, so there might be many messages waiting for me once I return. Last night, I found something truly unbelievable and surprising! Check this out:

Monkey Island will be back?! THIS summer?!? I never thought this was possible! But it seems to be true! Well, I'm not all that familiar with this "episodic" concept, since I haven't played the Sam & Max episodic games by Telltale Games, and the 3D graphics look pretty strange - though not nearly as strange as in Escape from Monkey Island (MI4), which I haven't played, either. But it's really great to see that MI is still alive! I think I'll wait for the first critiques from fans before I consider buying these games, but I hope Guybrush & crew will be as swashbuckling and entertaining as always!

But "Tales of Monkey Island" is not all! They're also going to make a new 3D special edition of the very first MI game from 1990, The Secret of Monkey Island! Well, once again, I'm not in favor of the 3D look, but the voice acting sure will be great - because they got the Dominic Armato to voice Guybrush once again, as well as Alexandra Boyd (from Curse of Monkey Island!) to voice Elaine! I've watched this little video about it:

Man, Dominic Armato really let himself go! But he still is the one and only voice of Guybrush Threepwood, and he sounds great as always! Well, I'm still a little skeptical about all this, but let's see where this will go...

Okay, this'll be the fifth and last quiz I'm stealing (for now). This time, it was taken from 's journal again. First, I wasn't so sure if I wanna steal it, but then I thought, "Oh, what the heck". Whoa, though question to start with... What do you mean by "loud". I really can't lable any of my characters as "loud". But if I had to, I'd pick my fursona Vanya... (I remember drawing a "party" pic of her, so okay)

2. Your shyest?
That's Alina. She's the youngest, and really shy.

3. Your angriest?
He, he, that's Lina, I guess. Especially when she thought her brother was taking the throne and/or her best friend away from her.

Gosh, that's hard... Just like "loudest", I can't really label anyone with that. But if I had to, then... Takita. She practically jumped at Ari when she saw him again after a long time...

5. Your poorest?
Well, "poor" as in the opposite of "rich" doesn't apply to any of my lion characters. But if you think of "poor" as in unfortunate, that'd be Nivio a.k.a. Loner - at least in his cubhood days. He went through so much.

OMG, I can't believe it's all over! But it is! And I'm SO happy! I got a "2" on my final oral exam today!
(For those who don't know the German/Austrian grading system at universities: 1 = "very good", 2 = "good", 3 = "satisfactory", 4 = "sufficient", 5 = "unsatisfactory"/"insufficient"/"failed" )

I already had a "1" on my Thesis, as I might have mentioned, so I'm really content with my finals! On Monday 25th, it'll be "official", because then I'll get my certificates. And probably in Mid June, I'm gonna take part in a graduation ceremony.

I'm REALLY happy & relieved now!

Gotta go through my messages & start being creative again... But first, I'll just relax!

Wow... the final countdown to the end of my studies has started! But let's start from the top...

I was totally freaked out these past few days, because I still had to complete the literature list for my final oral exam in May. On Friday, I sent it to my prof, and he said it was okay. But on Monday morning (yesterday), I suddenly got a message from him that something was missing in my list. So, I had to go to the library at University again (I've already been there on Thursday, when the database didn't work, and on Friday!), and get two more articles for my list!

Fortunately, I then met my prof in person, so now he confirmed that everything is okay with these two articles, and I can hand in my literature list. And then, we even had some kind of a nice talk, and not only did I learn that he handed in his certificate/testimonial about my Thesis and gave me the best grade for it ( ), but he also suggested to write some references if I need them for job applications! AND he (unofficially) told me the date of my final oral exam!

It'll be on May 14th! I'm not sure about the time, because my prof said 9:00 a.m., but when I handed in the literature list today, I was told it was going to be at 10:00 a.m. Well, the day is final, but the time will be confirmed sometime next week.

Either way, on May 14th at 11:00 a.m. at the latest, my final oral exam is gonna be over! I started a countdown on my profile page over at Facebook.

Phew... what a relief! Today, I finally handed in my Thesis!

Don't get me wrong, this still isn't the end of my studies, and there's still much more to prepare and learn before it's all over (probably in May). But at least now this heavy load named "my Thesis" has been lifted off my mind. I hope everything's okay with it, and I'll get the rest of my studies and the final oral exam done alright, too.

I might be able to start with the drawings I've planned (one I've had on my mind for ages, and the reward pic for ~turbolover175 from my last kiriban request) soon. But I still need some time to relax first, so... let's just wait and see.

Aww man, in less than 2 weeks, I'm supposed to hand in my Thesis, and I'm still waiting for feedback from my prof on the second part of it! This is torture! Seriously, it's killing me! Actually, I really wanted to hand it in at the end of the month, and not on the last day (April 3rd)! I just hope there's not much for him to complain, because I don't want to spend all of next week correcting it!

And you know why? Because next week, I'm home alone! My mother will be away with her school, so I have the apartment to myself. And then, I think I'm also getting a little sick... aww man, I hope not...!

Tomorrow, I guess I'll have to go see my prof and ask if there's anything wrong with my Thesis... But I think I'm not going to be able to start with any of the drawings I've planned (one I've had on my mind for ages, and the reward pic for ~turbolover175 from my last kiriban request), until I've been able to hand in my Thesis...

I guess I really need to draw something for other people some time, because I'm suffering from some kind of an art block. My biggest problem at the moment - apart from the time factor - is that I have a motive on my mind, but I don't really know what to make out of it! It would fit both for Monkey Island fan art and for Kim Possible fan art. I'd really like to draw it for both, but can I really do that? I mean, two pictures, with the same background and the same pose, but different characters - how boring is that?! Well... but it fits a little better for MI, so I guess I'll just try and make that first - when I get the time to -, and then we can see if I make a KP fan art out of that as well.

Apart from that, I'm slowly (very slowly) getting used to the new layout of the site, but that's just because some of the new features are good. There are some I miss, though, like getting to the Scraps directly from the artist's profile page.

And on another news, I've received some praise from my prof for the first part of my Thesis... Still, I'm not sure if it will turn out that great as a whole then... Well, we'll see. As for now, I'm a little lazy, but I have to keep working on that eventually...

Man, what happened here?! This new profile design sucks! Or at least I think so. When I first saw these in some of the subscribers' pages, I thought: "WTF?! Let's hope they don't force this on all of us..." But of course, they did! This is gonna take a whole while to get used to...

And on another note... Another one of my deviations has been reported and then deleted for copyright violation. It was "My all-time favorites wallpaper". Seriously, this happened 3 times to me now! But others are never punished! I guess I should probably take down everything that contains screenshots from any shows, movies or games right now, before they're taken down one after another.

Well, this year has gone by in a flash, especially the past two or three months. Time to think a little about some things.

I wouldn't say 2008 totally sucked for me, but there weren't many things I enjoyed. Well, at least I made big progress with my Thesis, which means that the end of my studies is in sight - actually, I already know the date of my final oral exam, it'll be in May 2009! -, and I got my own car! Those were my highlights of this year...

I also wrote another fanfic, one that I'm really content with. Apart from that, I haven't been all that artistic this year... too bad. I just didn't have that much time to draw. I hope that'll change next year, but I don't know if I can be optimistic about this...

Anyways, I've been thinking about opening up another kiriban request, just so that I get to draw something for someone. I'd love to see my 12,345 pageviews then, so... maybe I'll just have another kiriban request.

Well now, I'm not able to do anything that makes sense, I'm bored and tired, but not tired enough to go to bed. So, I've stolen a quiz once again! This time, it's from 's journal, and it's called "Movie Mania"

He's been taking part in a contest over at Hobnox.com, where you can win $ 30.000 - lots of money! He wants to use that money to finance his groups' next short movie. In the first few days of the final contest, Majus went straight to the first place! But now, he dropped to the second place, and the distance is getting bigger... And if that weren't enough, Hobnox.com told him to take down his flash movies for copyright reasons - seems they were afraid of getting sued by LucasArts or something like that. That's SO mean! I'm really happy today - because today, I got a car!!

I was pretty lucky to get it. My grandma's boyfriend (remember, I once drew a portrait of the two of them) gave his old car (12 years old, but still good) to my mother - and my mother gave her car to me. It's an 8-year-old dark blue Renault Clio. Such a little beauty!

#1. Why did you decide to fill this out? Were you bored?

Yeah, kinda. And I found it interesting.

Fanart of my favorite games, TV shows and movies, digital art made in Photoshop with my tablet, traditional art made with (colored) pencils and photos of things I find pretty or interesting enough to take pictures of.

Currently, my favorite song is "David Duchovny (Why Won't You Love Me)" from Bree Sharp. I really love this song, because I like "The X-Files", it's got a catchy tune, and it's just so funny! I always crack myself up when she sings "I'm gonna kill Scully"! My absolute favorite song changes from time to time, but there are many songs I always love to hear.

#5. Tell us your favourite colour. Is it dark like your personality?

I don't like dark colors that much. I really love different shades of blue and red, and all the colors you can mix of these two, i.e. different shades of purple and pink. I don't know what it says about my personality, though.

#6. How many pageviews do you have right now? What's your goal?

Right now, it's 9,624 pageviews! Well, my (first) goal is 10,000 - obviously, as I made it my current kiriban request. I'm thinking about making another one for 12,345 pageviews, because that looks really cool. And I always love getting pageviews!

#7. Everyone's considered leaving DA once or twice. Have you? Why?

No, I haven't. I really like it here. Maybe that'll change one day, but not in the near future, I swear. You'd have to make me want to leave!

Gosh, I'm bored... And I just wanted to get my last journal entry out of the way, so I'm already annoucing to you... a new kiriban request!

I have actually no idea why it's called like that, but I'll explain what it is: You try and get a screenshot of my profile page with a certain number of pageviews on it - and the one who gets closest to my desired pageview number gets a request, i.e. I'll draw something for you. Sounds like a deal?

This is a special journal entry directed to all Kim Possible fans out there: Today (September 8th) is "Save KP Day", that means today is the day where you can send mails, make calls, write letters, etc. to Disney in order to bring back Kim Possible once again. Of course, you can do that on any other day as well, but today is the day where as many KP fans as possible should "fight for five".

So, if you want a Season Five of KP, fight for it! Remember, it's the way we got Season Four. For more info, go to: [link]

Good news, as the title implies...
I survived the big move, most of my stuff is already here, and I spent my first night in my new room - I slept well. Yesterday, my computer moved here, too, because today we got our new phone and internet access - and it works again!

So, everything's turning out fine here, I believe... or at least I hope so.
