A club were art means more than some thing pretty to look at. I wanted to start a club to increase peoples awareness of issues in the world today Issues that need to be address social issues, civil issues, global issues.
I myself don't have time to go protest or lobby in Washington. i wanted to do something that meant something and made a difference. And i believe am not the only one.
So am looking for other artist that these issues mean something too to.
A bridge start with a single small piece, and with work it takes people some where they have never been. This club will address issues that are important to me and you as a member you have the ability to pick and point out issues that you feel need addressing too.
The first step in fixing a problem is to recognize its there
Evey month we will take on new issues through our art we will get other people to hear and see and understand things that no one has pointed out before please copy this and post it in your journal too

Iam single and on an emotional roller coaster she went out on valentines with me told me she was done with me Thursday as she drop me off at work. then we went out today and acted angry when she left me. were suppose to have a last fling Sunday. iam not holding my breath am hopeful but i think she'll not show and go back to were done. I am so total smitten and as painful as it is i cant stop trying. I feel a little thicker skin since I've kind of come to terms that were done. So if thing work out it would be great but am not holding my breath. am working on like 3 different pieces of art am all over the place and it's hard to focus. when am all the way dumped I'll cram my broken heart into my art. I've been trying to start a club but am having so techno issue with DA I've sent them a plea for help cross your fingers. Ive lost a lot of weight am happy about that due to my eating vegan with my (ex)girlfriend. and the all most 5 days of not eating. witch am eating now regularly.
I am working on a photo paint of muse1979 and am gonna start one of a friend from my job. have and drawing for the club i want to start that needs to be color. I wish that you all go hug some one you love. if you have someone special in your life may they stay there. since my second wife left me i have not known to much real happiness in love. I was happy but i was insecure and ruined it don't let that happen to you. love is the most important thing there is so many of us wind up going with out it. hang on to the ones you have cause when there gone its usely too late. Iam getting tired of being left myself. my first wife would not have left me if the room we were in was on fire. lol we just couldn't stand each other ok I've gone totally of my rocker love you all hugs and support to you

sorry i,ve been gone for over a week and i might not get back on for days. i lost my car do to some shaddy dealings with my car lot i could take them to court but id be more hassle than help i had zero xmas with my kids. i have no car my girlfriend freaked out and kind of still is. am as sad as i can get with out jumping of a buliding (and i am not gonna) i want to wish a merry xmas to all my loving friends here and a happy new year. ive been staying at my girlfriends no internet there, she brought me home last night cause she was mad at me from the night before. long story any way am sorry i have not comment on hardly anybodys art it was a little overwleaming after a week away from da i get 39 to 60 messages a day and about 70 devaitions a day times like 8 and whoa its a little much. been working on some new peices a tatoo of lions looks quite nice and a wizard in ps. should post lions soon. wizard is days away fron compltion love ya

I would like to give more time to digital painting, but while the current obsession with photomanipulation lasts I’m a lost cause on that one.


and last some General tips on your craft.General tips on my craft. Honestly it would make serious manipulators weep if they watched me. I am self taught and I don’t know anyone here in my real world that does digital art, I do actually sketch ideas on paper first, I also do a mock up on screen, a rough idea to see if it might work. Saves all the cutting etc being wasted if it’s rubbish. I don’t use lots of layers either, I find it too inhibiting. I prefer to have several versions to play with.

Since i became a member on DA i,ve greatly enjoyed exploring everybodys art. some work is new and unusly, some is down right weird, some scary some heart felt. for me our fellow DA member Nimra has captuerd all theses feelings and more, to say i love his work is too small like saying the mona lisa is just a picture. his pencil work is amazing every body i show his work to is like "is that a photo"

what and when did you discover art or start being and artist?
Very early on, my father is a painter, when he and my mother divorced when I was nine he would take me to his studio on the weekends. There was nothing to do there (no TV, video, iPod, God forbid I would read) so I drew and he critiqued (without mercy I must add). I am not a big believer in talent but I believe strongly in passion and desire and wanted to get good at drawing. By the time I was 13 I was teaching drawing at a community center in my hometown. The better I got the more compliments and respect I received, and this made me work even harder. When I went off to art school I was way ahead of most other people but I knew I had much more to learn, and as I still do.

who are your influences and why?
Influences are great a varied,
First of all my father, I just looked at his work and was amazed. He didn’t just paint and draw well, he had something to say. Art for him wasn’t just about technique it went hand in hand with emotion it was a visual novel, the sharing of ideas. Second a teacher by the name of Larry Butcher, his work gave me a barometer for what art could be, he taught me that art would come from within you if you let it. Most of my influence early on was music and the musicians that created it. Music sent me into another realm and I wanted to do the same with my visual art. The Beatles, Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Iron Maiden and today Opeth, Tool, etc. and most of all the German band BAP then and now they still give me the realization how great any art form can be. I was never moved by the art my pears where influenced by, Frazetta, Gigger, Roger Dean I liked but not particularly influenced. Comic book art nor fantasy not even surrealism interested me in the least. Recently DA has made me look at these works in a different light and I am finding interest and enjoyment from but they need not be influential I went through my stages of looking at the old masters, the modernists; I was thrilled by abstraction and I was open to anything without prejudice and learned from it all. The biggest realization was I can like others art even love it but I need to fallow my own path, art from within. I became my own influence, although a very imperfect one but an influence just the same.

pick four of your favorite pictures and tell us why?

This is a real hard request and if I did it tomorrow I would be different then today. I will do four out of my favorites and keep it to DA.

My two favorite artist are my wife Valerie Allen she has great emotionally packed work, a great sense of abstraction and color, ( I have her link on my website) and my very best friend Todd Burroughs, a master technician in the old master style one of the best oil painters working today, unfortunately he has no web site.

Ok welcome to my first solo spotlight artist Psion005 he's from Australia and 37 +1 years old a great guy a great DA friend and artist. And a master of the fractal. He's work is always unique and eye catching psion005 was kind enough to let me interview him like am a REAL reporter. I have 2 more spotlights artist i would like to feature. Q. ok what got you started as a fractal artist and when ?

I stumbled across apophysis & another online art community called Renderosity by accident in 2004 & was immediately sucked into making flames
(A "flame" is a type of fractal made with the software "apophysis" )
...I'm not very good with & pen or pencil, but i seemed i was drawn to apo & started to create my owe style of "woven" flames back then, that people took a liking to & encouraged me to explore it further... After posting at RR for a few months, i came across DA in Feb 2005 where I met Peter aka Zueuk ... he revolutionized Apo by adding features that breathed new life into it ...I was asked by him to become a beta tester for upcoming releases & which is always a lot of fun.... Also like to thank Gygrazok for releasing his 2.05z+ version of apo... lots a nice new variation to play with

Q. pick 4 of your fav pieces and tell me why ?

It was quite difficult to choose 4 because i have so many but here we go...

1.Fractal Biomechanics2------>

This was the first Giger inspired flame that i came up with using the old apo 2.02.. i cut my teeth on this type of flame back in Jan2005.. i love the subtle depth, gradient & weave

2.H R Giger vs M C Escher--->

Two of my fave artists coming together here ..Biomechanical art mixed with the trippyness of Escher`s constructions

3. Organica II----->

Apo has the ability to create really nice organic structures & this would be one of my fave types of that style... i like the way all that green is broken up by the tiny bit of yellow/orange

4. Cyberpunk----->

The futuristic style of this piece has become a big fave of mine ... from the colour to subtle wiring under the glass plate in the center...BTW has nothing to do with me reading "Snowcrash" @ the moment

Q. what and whom inspires you ?

H R Giger ,the genius sci-fi artist of the modern era, is what inspires a lot of my work here @ DA...Ive always been obsessed with his alien & biomechanical art...Its his fusion of man & machine that starts my imagination racing..I also look forward to one day visiting his museum in Switzerland ...Oh & BTW theres a $10000 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of two of his paintings that were last seen during the artist's 2005 retrospective at the National Technical Museum of Prague
I would also say that Salvador Dali`s surrealist works & M C Eschers crazy constructs play a big part also in my work...

I never really start out by saying im going to create this or that ...Until just recently most of my flame work was built by randomly creating 100 flames & searching for something that looked out of the ordinary ... i would then spend anywhere between 2 mins to 2 hours tweaking the flame by hand. hi am a little on the depressed side i gained a new girlfriend tuesday and its over on satday. am i curesed or do i suck that bad

I finish Marrsille Birth day present of course its like two months late.
its hard from go from one or two pieces a day to what two post in 4 months. But i got me a new copy of Photoshop cs2. its a littel diffrent from ps 7 i find my sleff screaming at it alot. i, ve been ask to make webgraphics for the club i work for free of course i'll post some of the tastful stuff i need to go back and find some of my other web designer stuff. (i've did two diffrent clubs web pages course neither page is up now. and a few other web projects. webdesign is fun code and debugging sucks lol. any way expect to see more soon not 4 months from now love ya DA has the best people ever.

am having computer problems. i have finish marsille birthday picture
i acutly finish somthing i'v been working on in in peices. but its stuck on my other putter it went down awhile back so no internet on it so i cant post from there, i have a 1 gig jumper that it wont reconize am out of cd's so i burned it on a blank dvd. it says its burning i can look at the disk it looks burn but my laptop is totaly clues on any files on the disk GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. my scaner and photoshop and my intos pad are all conected to my crap home pc.

first "Moonmamma" shes a regular fav in my circle of friends ever time i feature her i get a note from someone telling me thank you that they love hers stuff, photomanip artist and artist i include her pastle picture of her beautiful daughter. very creative and fun, she is one of those artist i wait happyly for her next picture

HAPPY FATHERS DAY, my father died when i was five, its always been important to me to be a good father, and find time for my kids my new suck job alows me weekends off so i have more time for my kids if it wasn't for my kids i would be here to day, lots of love and support from them, even if one of them cant remeber its fathers day lol. My life is one screwed up piece of work wrong discesions all along the way, but at least my kids are something great in my life if i died today i know i left behind three great kids, who all have a tendence to think like me on whats fair and whats right. Without a doubt it's a big, interesting and versatile community.
But isn't it amazing to always see the same artists on the frontpage every single day concerning the fact that so many new deviations have been submitted?

We're all aware of that and believe that this has to change. It is already quite difficult for the "unknown" artists to promote their work and gain more attention.

Clearly, we do not intend to deny the skills of those great artists who enrich the community by sharing their magnificent work. But we do intend to enhance the platform in such a way that "unknown" artists might get a real chance to draw the public attention to their own pieces of work by promoting it on the front page of the community.

In our opinion we think it unjust to only have the chance to be represented on the front page if one has the luck of having many watchers.

We would like a better system which allows a deviation to be seen on the front page if, for example, it has 'only' reached about 40 favourites and about 200 views.

Take a look at the actual situation: You have uploaded an impressive piece or art that gets faved according to the number of your total views/watchers. Then, however, a more popular deviant uploads a more or less 'average' deviation and automatically reaches more than the double of your favourites/views in a mere moment.

A new structure of the frontpage could enhance the actual competition on dA, i.e. popular deviants wouldn't be able to best the "unknown" artists by posting a rather average deviation.

A reasonable alternative to present the "daily top favourites" on the front page would be a bigger amount of thumbs which would show the 40 best deviations of the day in a random order.

We think it's in everyone's interest to change the current situation and make dA a place where creating and sharing unique art plays a far bigger role than scrambling for new watchers.

3I make strange sound effects when i walk in my socks, my kids have picked up this odd habit

4 I love to sing in the car and boy do i suck, my poor kids when they ride with me.

5 I love to spoil my love ones, gifts drawings surpises

6 threw out my life when am around somebody, sweet but sad. i will draw a little some thing to make them feel better. met my second wife that way, I have drawn 1000's of litte things on napkins waitress tickets etc....

my new laptop is eating my brain, i havnt had time to draw any, i was on a roll
i have drawn 4 of 12 peices of the zodic. a day or more per peice i m think a calander or just a porfollio for selling. cross your fingers for me, ive been going all out on these peices. large and detailed with lots of extra details an as deviant as i can get, not your momma's zodic. lol

I love drawing alot you never stop learning and i love to see others artist work it inspires me to try harder
