Until now.

My mother was going through the cupboards, throwing things out, when she came to her old collection of National Geographics (dating from 1980 onwards). She said I could keep the ones I was going to read. Well, I'm a bit of a hoarder. Anything that had any significance to anyone at any point, ever, I try to keep. It really makes for a lack of shelf space, but whatever.

So, point is, I'm now in possession of what must be at least a hundred old National Geographic magazines. And have to read them all.

Which I will.

Because it's my goal.

And I've been told I'm a stubborn ass, on a few different occasions.

So i went and listened to the guest speakers!! and guess who i saw?!

first i saw... Connor Trinneer who plays 'Trip' on Star Trek Enterprise and 'Michael' on Stargate Atlantis. he was awesome. layed back, funny, and more handsome in reallife. thats what really counts

then i saw the wonderful Alan Tudyk from Joss Whedon's wonderful (but unfortunately short-lived) show Firefly. He played 'Wash' and showed us some behind the scene footage that he and Nathan Fillion (Mal) had made.

then the next day i saw...wait for it...Joe Flanigan!! he was great!! such an interesting guy! and attractive (of course )

so that was about all. Awesome expo and i am glad i went. though of course now i sound like a Trekkie so i should finish this all off with..

anyway. We thought our chickens were dieing, becuase 2 of the were losing feathers so we were worried (obviously) but mum spoke to another chicken owner (they all chat about all things related to chickens when meeting other people buying chicken feed) and she said that she thought the same thing when her chickens were losing feathers the first time. It turned out though, that the chickens moult. I suppose in hind-sight it would have been obvious but, hey.

on friday the Markets and Citizenship class went to Vic market as an excursion. anyway, on monday about 4 girls came to school with ducks they bought at the market that their parents said they werent allowed to keep. they were looking for homes for them. they had them in cardboard boxes and werent feeding the poor baby ducks properly and one of them actually died at the school.

OF ALL THE HARE-BRAINED THINGS TO DO!! bloody hell I WANTED TO STRANGLE THEM so i went home and said to Ma, "can i save the ducks from the @!^#ing #@!*s at the school" and she said that if the SURVIVING ones were still looking for homes the next day then i could save them but they might be diseased. anyway, the ducks werent still circling the classes in boxes looking for homes so i dont have them but STILL. i say again...bloody hell

2) i love peanut butter on apple pieces. mmm and i eat peanut butter with a spoon.

3) i have to lock the door im sitting by in a car if it is one of those manual ones. other wise i fret and get nervous the whole trip and imagine myself dying horrible deaths.

4) i have to be lying on my stomach to be able to go to sleep.

5) clowns scare me.

6) i cant come home to a dark house. i go around turning on all the lights till it is nice and bright. i know it probably wastes electricity but hey.

the flight was awful. 15 hrs on a plane (when you get travel sick) is not pleasant. i get travel sick on everything but i only throw up on planes. eugh. anyway, after a lot of restroom trips, i have recovered.

now...i know this sounds crazy and nerdy but i went to the Sci-Fi museum. see, mum's a trekky so i have inherited some traits it was fun. i enjoyed it. dont laugh at me. though i was really surprised that they didnt have more modern science fiction stuff. they had the Aliens and the Terminators but they didnt have the SG and SGA stuff. or Firefly. it was bad that way. most of the stuff was just older like Isaac Asimov books and movies and Star Wars and Star Trek. but it still awesome. they didnt let you take in cameras though ...

righto i have to go cause i have a time limit on this computer seeing as i'm not a library member.
