Finally, I have an exciting update!

DarkDescartes is now the President of Bevelled-edge, while Alezandrane will follow-up as the Vice-President.
Congratulations to them both!

Now I'll give you some insight on how DarkDescartes and Alezandrane feel the future BE should be.

DarkDescartes:

If you could run BE - what would you do to make it better?

I'd keep most of BE the same because I like it the way it is. It has that personal, small-community feel and is not run like a corporation, as some communities are. I would make the journals a bit less confusing - like do separate ones for assignments and the Almighty BE Challenge. I would make more challenges that aren't freestyle, because I've found that they're great prompts to make me look at writing in new ways. In addition, the Almighty BE Challenge is closed so much - I'd do one more often. I would encourage members to come up with their own monthly assignment ideas. I would also add a section for collaboration, so that writers can meet each other, get more involved experience with other styles, and produce truly unique works of prose.

Alezandrane:

If you could run BE - what would you do to make it better?

Off the top of my head, I would say that I would like to submit more things through the club that will enable our members to better their stories, whether it be through the sharing of a news article, a link to a suggested site, or something similar.

Also, I would like to think about making banners for the journal, to spiff it up a little. I'm not sure what would be in those, but I would obviously share these choices with the club members.

Interviewing is over and I have received answers back.
Unfortunately, the competition has been whittled down to two deviants (because of the deviants' other commitments).
The two I have left are both major leader material and I think both would make BE dazzle.

What I have decided is that there should be maybe a President and Vice, a manager and co-manager type deal.

Hopefully - I will have a leader picked before Jan. 1st. I'll keep you posted!

I'm very happy to say that I have been contacted by four members that want the admin position. Most of them were interested in a group of people running BE, which I think is a great idea.

The interviewing process has yet to begun - but when it does, I will tell you highlights from each person.
Maybe we'll have an election based on each one's platform.

I'm deeply saddened to say that I have decided to resign my position of administrator of BE. I feel that I'm not representing the full potential of what BE can be. For lack of better words, my lack of free time has made me reconsider my standing in this position.

But don't fret - I have decided instead of closing BE - to bow out and let someone else take my place.
That's where you come in. If you or someone you know is interested in taking on the responsibility of maintaining this club - PLEASE send a note to ~jades-n-rubies (Only serious considerers may apply!)
What I would really like to see would be a small group take over, so that they may share the responsibility. There is many examples of that in other DA clubs.
(In the rare instance that no one wants the responsibility of owning BE - then, in that case, I will close this account.)

In the mean time, I will be making up a questionnaire in order to find out who/who all is best for the upkeep.
For those who take over - any revamping or changing is permissible by me.

I want to thank those members that have been with BE from the start or for at least a year -you are all very cool. Thank you for taking the time to do assignments and submiting them. Thank you for correcting my journal mistakes

For all you new members - I'm sorry to leave the club so abruptly. A big change might be coming over the horizon - so bear with this club's everchanging status. Thank you for your interest in the this club.

For the month of November - there will be no assignments. I need to dedicate some time in interviewing interested people.
