I've been writing one called One Day a Year for a couple of days, but I haven't got many ideas, so we'll see.

This really is a bad time of year for me... I get quite obsessive around Rememberance Day, thanks to a trip to the Batlefields in Europe two years ago that affected me profoundly. I've started watching every WWI/WWII documentary on TV, reading every article, listening to War songs, looking for popies everywhere ^.^ And getting fairly emotional, too. I'll be glad once I've been to the Rememberance Day Service on Sunday and payed my respects. I need that closure every year ^.^

FIRST PLACE WITH HONOURS!!!!
I'm completely in shock. I didn't think I deserved to win by a long way.
It was my first competition and most of the people I was competing against had been playing much longer than me, passed their grade 8, and one girl had spent time at Cheethams D: There was no way I was expecting to win
So anyways that means that I'll be competing in the Young Musician of the Year finals on Saturday as well as the ensemble and two instrument categories tomorrow. I'll let anyone who's interested know how they go once I've done them.

Well, for a while I was intending on turning it into a full legnth book, but I had to give up on that idea because I'm too lazy for all the research involved.
I;ve decided that I'm going to give it another shot now, but to save a lot of the hastle, I'm changing the setting. Instead of NAzi Germany, it's going to be set in one of two different places/times.
Option one: In a state-controlled dictatorship in the future; kind of Orwellian
or
Option two: In a completely different universe, unrelated to ours, Tolkien-style

Both of them work to an extent, but I was wondering which people think would work best with this story???

I tend to write about big issues haha that just made me think of the guy who tried to sell me a big issue the other day..
*ahem* aaaannnyway... I usually write about big issues like war, the hollocaust, terrorism,and one about Jesus I might write some more along those lines; I want to write about victims of knife crime cuz I hate that, but I really want to try some different subject matter. For soe reason I've been feeling really soppy recently. Maybe it's time to try a happy love poem!!!! I've done two love poems before, and they were both a little depressive. To be loved ([link]) not so much [well... it ends hapy at any rate, but I don't like it] but Desolate path([link]) is talking about waiting to die, so I think that one counts as over-depressive, right? Yeah, maybe it's time for a happy poem methinks.

Oh and anyone who read my short story Hindsight ([link] [link]); I'm going to turn it into a novel-legnth piece. Not to get publishe or anything, because God knows it needs a lot of work to be god enough for that, but there was a lot that I had to miss out. I missed out the entirety of Adolf's childhood, and there's so much potential for character development that I threw away there. I wanted to write in much more detail about his attempts at joining the army, and his Dad was going to die fighting in France, but it was getting too long, and I had a deadline (It's my original writing coursework) so I missed a lo out. Anyway, I'm turning it into a full legnt piece. I'm going to post the odd chapter on here, but there's no point posting it all, because most of it's in he shorter version allready.
