TEN THOUSAND PAGEVIEWS. Finally...it's been almost three years. This is a huge milestone, so thanks to everyone who helped me get this far. I know I haven't been updating very much, so I don't know where all the pageviews are coming from. I'll try to get my camera out more often, especially since it's half term now. The formatting might be sort of screwed up today (e.g. THE LIST isn't here because I really can't be fucked to redo all the links to all the deviations) because I'm not using my laptop.

Why? (Ooh, varying sentence structure to create suspense.)

Well, I got a new one. A real pretty one. A Sony Vaio Z. But then it died and wouldn't start, so I had to take it in to be fixed. (And I didn't back up my files, including an entire album of newly downloaded songs and two lessons worth of Psychology notes. So it goes.) Then I tried to start using my old Dell, but it wouldn't start either. So now I'm stuck using my home PC, which doesn't have any of my files from before January 2008 on it. So it goes.

If you've read it too, you can tell I read Slaughterhouse-Five sometime in between today and July 30, which was the date of my last journal.

Wow, what happened between then and now? The results I stressed about for like two months weren't worth stressing about. I was happy on results day Now to work my ass of for another two years to get another set of numbers that will make my mom want to cry in public. (Happy tears, guys, happy tears.)

Nao, TEACHERS. I hate my English teacher so freaking much. And our class is huge. What kind of IB HL English class has more than 20 people in it?! I have a cool French and Spanish teacher though (yup, same one for both subjects), and after about two weeks of frantic emailing, I got my awesome math teacher back. For Psychology I have an okay teacher...she's better than the alternative, who has a highly distracting lisp (this is a direct quote from ~ailzsuixide). My Chem teacher is all right...efficient and organized and nice-ish if you don't get on her bad side. Oh, and my TOK teacher is my English teacher from last year, so all's good on that front. Last lesson I was bored and making Möbius strips in class. Instead of getting mad at me for not paying attention, he made me pass them around the classroom. Apparently one-sided shapes are a TOK issue. Hey, I'm not complaining.

Anyway, I'm only writing this to procrastinate because I'm supposed to be doing my application to be a member of the yearbook team. I'm hoping to get head of layout and design...and I'm exploiting my dA membership in order to get it. Hee. (How is it that I manage to easily write so much here, but I struggle to get more than 200 words in my application?)

Ah yes, and I started playing Kingdom of Loathing again. It's awesome. Srsly. It's not one of those lame stupid games. So GO PLAY IT.

One more thing, school got typhoon'd out today. #WeLoveKoppu on Twitter

Oh wait! I have to mention Spectrum. ~ailzsuixide and I are awesome people and we set up a gay-straight alliance (ew, I hate that term, but it's the most easily understandable) at school. Hell to the wai-eee-ess. And I don't like people saying GSA because I'm not gay or straight and it pisses me off that I'm not in there. Hrmph.

Well, since it's the summer, I have returned to spending all my time living vicariously through TV shows, then realizing I'm in the real world at around 2:30pm and rushing off to German class (though only on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays). I'm currently watching 30 Rock Season 2, re-watching House Season 5 and I just finished CSI: NY season 4. I'm so busy

I should be busy re-reading The Handmaid's Tale and Antigone, because I don't remember anything from either of them. The point of reading them so long ago was totally moo (sic). I LOVE JOEY TRIBIANI!

This is probably going to be my only German-titled journal. I was just bored of words like PETTIFOGGER and HOMODOXIAN, because all I remember is that homodoxian doesn't mean 'gay doxy'. I seriously don't know what it means. Oh pointless day.

I am trying to be a better person, which means changing my bad-habit fueled way of speaking. So as not to offend people, I've decided to:
1. Stop calling people 'retards' and go for 'cretin' or 'idiot' instead.
2. Stop taking God's name in vain, because some people get offended and a made-up deity shouldn't play such a huge role in my life. (And my earlier resolution to use 'Jiminy Cricket' instead has been foiled by the fact that it's a bastardization of 'Jesus Christ'.) Therefore, 'oh my cornchips' or whatever comes into my mind at the time of 'oh my whatever'-ing.

Oh, there're only two points. Whatever.

In other news...EXAAAMS. I had a French oral today, which went surprisingly well. I was one lucky bunny. I got easy roleplays
No, don't let your mind go there.

I have Music tomorrow from 5:45 to 7:15pm.
This is why we should do IGCSE for everything =_=

Enough about school...well, this is sort of related. I've started re-watching House AGAIN to distract myself so I don't have to revise. Strangely enough, I can always find something new to appreciate in episodes I've seen already. I'm going to start Season 5 soon. Apparently some bits of it suck. I've been TOTALLY spoilerized already. I know loads of things that happen in various parts of the season. Sigh. YouTube sucks. I resolved to try not to spoilerize myself, but user comments have been my downfall T_T

Gyaah. I hate English coursework. I did 'minimal effort' on my first draft so I seriously have to work my ass off on this draft. Problem is, this isn't interesting coursework. It's textual analysis of this HUGE news article about fast food. Which means I'm uploading new devs and writing this journal instead of working.

Hokay, now, here's my latest news.
I have the best idea for a short story/novella/novel, depending on how much I feel like writing. I'm not going to submit a lot of it to dA, because I have higher aims than that. Aims, mind you, not actual realistic goals >_>
To me, there is a difference.

Right now, I have a family tree of the people in my story in front of me. It's very detailed in an almost frightening fashion. I actually looked up name trends so that the names would seem natural. =\

Anddd...I'm stupid.

My journal title is an old Scots word for 'beggar', by the way.

Hokay. I have been a complete stresspot these past few days. My life has been sucking like a mofo. I have to do this cuntacious History PowerPoint that has to be PERFECT or my teacher will fail us, and we were going to practice it today, but a certain person (NETA) didn't do any of the actual presentation and only Guyguy and I had the speeches done. And another person in our group was high on SOMETHING when we told him what to do, so I don't think he took any of it in. I don't know. And did I mention that this presentation is on MONDAY so we don't have ANY time to practice it and we're going to FAIL oh my fucking God.

MOREOVER, I had a Biology test on Wednesday, for which I was revising my head off, but that sort of paid off, so I'm not going to complain.

Oh right. And I'm being eaten from the inside out by vampiric butterflies which are somehow triggered by a certain stimulus =___=

AAAND I had to finish off this Music composition but I had to convert it to an earlier version of the program because we have a different version at school but my copy's fake so it shuts down every time I try to convert.

AAAND I got wires on my braces so I was a complete stresspot all day because I forgot to bring painkillers so I had a headache/teethaches all day.

Did I mention that I'm doing French coursework on Monday, a Chemistry test on Tuesday and a Physics test on Thursday?

My life sucks. And I haven't been out anywhere except Starbucks for about three weeks.

I should stop caring about school =__=
Life would be so much easier.

OOH, and I've finally read 3 parts of Stranger In A Strange Land.
Which is more than half.
I'm spending less time on the computer now too =]

I have begun an -acious phase. Basically, I'm using all these words that end in -acious just because I think they sound cool.

I don't really have anything to talk about, but I wanted to update my journal anyway

Ooh yes, the Day of Silence.
It was interesting. I found that talking really isn't a necessity, but people just think you're really odd if you stay silent. But life is surprisingly easy without speech. Except for the fact that certain people (-cough~marzie-xcough-) don't understand that you're not crazy just because you want to stand on the roof in the rain. I LIKE THE RAIN. I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU GOT KELLY TO DRAG ME BACK IN TO THE CLASSROOM.

And the day after, I did Free Hugs
Nobody came except for ~HolyJamieLlama, ~EYExANKLE, her sister and cousin, and one of Jamie's friends. Except he left after about two minutes. WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THOSE PEOPLE ON FACEBOOK WHO SAID THEY WERE COMING? It was fun anyway. I would say we all got to hug hot guys, but then I'd be starting up the debate between Coley and Jamie again. SO GUYS, BEFORE YOU START...SHUT UP!

I went temporarily workaholicacious on Sunday. I actually sat there and did my homework for hours. That is, literally, a first for me. I OWE IT ALL TO NIGHTWISH AND ANETTE OLZON AND DARK PASSION PLAY which are all basically the same thing. But seriously, I was listening to Dark Passion Play again when I did my History just now, and I understood everything and I did it and and and.

Oh right. We got school reports back today. Huzzah. How could I forget?
I GOT A FUCKING B+ IN ENGLISH LITERATURE! AARGH! HOMFGZ! And a B in History, which I was expecting. Oh, and a C in PE. Which I was NOT expecting, because our teacher doesn't look like a harsh marker

So this is my new journal format. It's so pretty and...organized...

Rant
Roaaar. I haven't updated The Daily Click since 8943173095 years ago. I'm so irresponsible, I even forget to feed my turtle. And that's the only pet I have.

And by pretending to always be a n00b, I've pretty much turned into one. Because I type lyk a n00b all the time. SEE?! THAT WAS HONESTLY UNINTENTIONAL.

Plus, I feel like I'm being ditched for some reason. Like, I feel like I only have three or four friends .___. Not that that's a major calamity, but I like having more friends than that...plus I'm pretty sure there are more than three or four people who consider themselves my friends. Hmm.

Andand, I've been staying up past midnight every night, which is actually really stupid of me because I wake up at 6:10 and really need my sleep, but UGH. I have no self-control.

Oh, and I have to make a fucking speech in approximately seven and a half hours from the point of view of Liu Shaoqi, who was the President of the People's Republic of China from 1960 to 1969. About what he did for China.

I SPENT AAAGES ON THAT SPEECH and I'm pretty damn sure I'm not going to be able to persuade the rest of the class that "I" did the most for China. I think I may have spent the most time on my speech out of the six people who actually volunteered to make speeches.

I WOULDN'T HAVE VOLUNTEERED IF I HADN'T KNOWN THAT WE WERE GOING TO HAVE TO MAKE SPEECHES. Aargh.

I'll stop now. I'm pretty sure nobody's reading this. Go on, look at the rest of my prettified, organized journal.

Yep, it's one part of my life that actually is organized.

In other news, I've taken up being depressed. By the way, this isn't a plea for comfort. It's just a place for me to rant. So, sorry, but don't feel sorry for me - it'll just annoy me.

On another note, does anybody have any books to recommend? I've been reading my mom's books for ages because they're just sitting there on a bookshelf and I feel sorry for them. I mean, they're good, but they're not as good as any YA or sci-fi books.

Most people, me included, take Thanksgiving as a day to eat turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, and in my family's case, apple crumble. Of course, we're also giving thanks for this food, but we never really take the time to think about what this holiday's really about. There are, of course, some people who remember what Thanksgiving's really about - not food, but the name of the holiday gives a huge clue as to what we're meant to be giving thanks for.

This year, all I'm going to thank whoever I should be thanking for is my friends. Friends rule. End of story.

Of course, whoever I should be thanking should also be angered at for not letting British people celebrate Thanksgiving as well. I'm obviously not Brit, but my school is. No Brit Thanksgiving = no Thanksgiving vacation. -angry hoot-

Anyway, on to recent news. I'm going to the library today so I don't have to pay a fine for So Yesterday, which is due today. I will therefore be able to check out a whole stack of books that I should've read about 5 years ago, i.e. Artemis Fowl and Alex Rider. Yes, I haven't read the Opal Deception and nothing past Skeleton Key. Of which I've read half. So kill me, jeez. But Next is a really really good book. Everyone should go out and read it, especially you, Jamie. It's about genetics Call me a nerd, but the story's brilliant as well, so nyeh.

Yesterday was Natasha's birthday and we went out and ate hot pot! Yummm.

Err...let's see...oh yeah, school's been awesome as usual. I love my friends. Especially my walking buddies

Hello everyone...yeah, I'm starting another contest. I've decided to just do writing contests from now on. Sorry, visual art-loving people So, here we go!

Use these four pictures in any random order, and write something out of the images. The photos are (in alphabetical order by photographer):

There will be two categories: poetry and prose. Stories should be quite short (less than 1,000 words). Poems can be pretty much any length, as long as you don't write an epic or anything. If you want to write in another style (like playscripts), that's fine, just keep it pretty short. If you're not sure whether your writing will go in poetry or prose, feel free to send me a note.

Keep an eye on this journal - there's going to be a lot more stuff being added along the way.

1. Link your entry to me by note, stating which category you're entering.
2. Entries will be accepted any time until September 30th. That gives y'all plenty of time to write
3. Voting will be different this time, and more details will come closer to the end of the contest.
4. Keep all material to a PG-13 level.
5. Prizes will be put on this journal as they come. The prizes will be the same for poetry and prose categories. Donations are gratefully accepted. You can enter even if you're donating a prize.

They've been sleeping for ages, but I have a feeling they woke up in the middle of the night (from the cup of tea on the table), whereas I didn't. I hate waking up before the morning, 'cause unless I'm really tired, I can never fall back asleep. I sound really egotistical, don't I? I think I've said "I" about a dozen times in the past paragraph, not counting this sentence. If anyone's bothered to count, you may.

Thanks to ~KaneMotri for reminding me of this song...especially now that I'm IN SF! One problem...it's really, really, two-coats cold here. I think. Since I just came from weather that's like 10-15 degrees warmer than here.

God, the plane journey sucked. I was next to this baby, who was really cute and stuff, and she was relatively good, but she kept CRYING. And right now I'm really, really tired because I've gotten like 2 hours' sleep in the last more-than-24-hours. But I have to stay up even later (it's 10:50 here), otherwise I'll wake up at 3 or 4 tomorrow morning and I will be even jet-laggeder than I am now.

At least I have compy access here...oh right, I was going to say something important, and here goes.

Send a note to me with the numbers of your TWO favorite submissions (in no particular order). PAY ATTENTION TO THE UNDERLINED, BOLDED AND ITALICIZED STUFF! The subject should be something like 'Vote', otherwise I probably won't read it until the end. You can't vote for yourself. Voting will be until midnight on August 10th (GMT +8).

In the case of a tie, I will put together a judging panel and we will decide amongst ourselves which is the best.

Tell a story in 3 sentences. It must be a complete story with each sentence being no longer than 59 words. 'Complete' means that the first sentence is the beginning (see definition below), the second sentence is the middle, and the last sentence is the end.

So what do these terms mean?

Beginning An introduction to the setting, characters and other important stuff.

Middle An important event, the climax, that kind of stuff.

End The resolution.

For example:

Jane munched on her tuna salad sandwich, savoring every bite. Suddenly, she noticed that there was something bitter in the sandwich. No, it wasn't poison, it was a piece of bittermelon that she later reported to the owner of the restaurant when she sued him.

It's that simple! Now for the rules:

1. Submissions must be sent to me by note, with a link to the story submitted as a deviation. A lot of people have been just sending me the three sentences by note, so please read this carefully!
2. Submissions will be accepted until the end of June (in other words the 30th).
3. Voting through notes will take place after that (details to come later).
4. The story shouldn't contain anything too explicit...swear words and stuff are fine but try not to mention anything -ahem-.
