this past monday was summer work kickoff, then I went straight to my band banquet. last night was the psych dinner.

tonight I have my senior dinner. party for the seniors. :\
tomorrow is the arts night. my graduation project will be hanging. I'm looking forward to the other art stuff though.
friday : prom. caps. gowns. go home.
monday : no school.
lacrosse banquet that wednesday.
tuesday : senior skip day
friday : hersheypark day for seniors.
that next week : finals. I have to go on friday though to take my psych final.
graduation party june 4.
graduation june 5.
the week after : new york. setting up the house for summer renters / sleeping / kayaking / hiking / looking for single lonely boys ;D
week after that : avalon with my friends. free housing!
day I come back : ithaca to schedule classes for next year.
week after that : wisdom teeth out. same day as my best friend. same place. a complete coincidence. how cool.
week after that : it's july. work 40 hour weeks with 23432342234 tourists up in my grill.
last week of july + first two weeks of august : new york again. the real trip back to the lakehouse.
then
I'm off to college.
oooh and there are about 234973 graduation parties scattered throughout all of that.

this is going to be one hell of a summer.
I don't know if that's good or bad
but I'll find out.

and god knows
I'm dreading prom.
and all of this makes me feel claustrophobic.

1. I want to make the best decision. I know I'll be content wherever I end up, but I'm still really stressed out about it.

2. I like when people respond. Yes or no is fine. Don't be afraid to say no or deny avoiding me and then get offended that I'd even think you were avoiding me. The avoidance is pretty clear, thanks. We both know you only want me for one thing, so leave me alone.

3. I really try to keep up with people. I really do. I feel horrible when I miss something huge because I was wrapped up with my own, probably self-created, issues.

4. I want to make the most of this year. I don't want to be confined to one group, and despite the fact I love each and every one in that group to near death, I know moving on will be incredibly difficult. Weaning off of them will just make it easier.

5. I cannot wait to get out of this town.

6. You make me laugh. The reasons we know each other are very inconvenient and make hanging out tricky, but I'm glad we talk a lot and manage to get drinks once in awhile. (:

7. I hate when people monitor my food intake. I realize that yes, I'm sort of skinny, but that doesn't mean I have an eating disorder, thanks. Trust me when I say I eat enough. BELIEVE ME. Sometimes I don't feel good so I don't eat. THIS MEANS NOTHING. Go worry about someone else.

8. I come off conceited. sort of snobby. I do apologize. It's not that I don't talk to you because I don't like you or have any preconceived notions or anything. I just .. suck at initiating conversation with people I've never talked to before, and it's something I definitely need to work on. I'm one of those people who is substantially quieter than the rest when put in a group of people I've never met before. I don't think I'm too good for you. Chances are, if I do talk, I will turn an ungodly shade of red. I hate audiences. I hate getting excessive attention. I encourage you to make fun of my red all you want, though. (: I do it myself. I can't help it. It makes it easier if everyone laughs with me instead of everyone feeling uncomfortable for me.</sub>

If you haven't heard, yes. I am diagnosed positive with HIV. And as today marks the 27th Anniversary of its discovery, I would like to share this with you.

Having HIV is not like what it was in the past decade. People living with HIV/AIDS itself will understand. People without it are often encased in a stigma of uncertainty.

However, it's not about the human immunodeficiency virus I am talking about here. No, I don't have that so you can breathe again. Think of HIV+ as this:

HEALTH IS VALUABLE (POSITIVE)

Current HIV/AIDS education has often most likely fallen onto alot of deaf ears. They've tried everything from print ads, tv slots, movies, flyers, and millions and millions of dollars spent on HIV/AIDS Awareness programs. How many percent of respondents actually give a f***? (pun intended). Yet the number of people infected keeps rising and rising by the second.

Change your stigma. Stop your ignorance. If you don't have it, doesn't mean you won't. So you might as well believe that you ALREADY have HIV+ (of course, my version of it). THINK. RESPECT. PROTECT. Together we can end HIV prejudice. If you dare, tell the world you are indeed HIV+. Say it with me: HEALTH IS VALUABLE (POSITIVE). This is one HIV+ you wanna spread! And I dare you to do the same by doing a "Hi. My name is _______ & I am HIV+" journal.

dancing 'rules' were enforced this year.
aka no grinding; that's okay with me, but it got to the point where it was ridiculous.

I understand sex on the floor being inappropriate and likewise intense grinding. those people can get the boot, or at least be warned.

god forbid one body touch another. but not even that.
the week before homecoming, our principal made an announcement saying that dance classes were being offered before and after school. people went for the free food, but it's not like anyone will actually apply those 'skills' taught at the dance itself.

people were kicked left and right; teachers were competing to see who could kick the most students. an hour and a half into the dance, there were 25% of the original dance-goers left on the floor.

that can't be a good sign.

3/4 of the senior class left to go party elsewhere. MEANING: let us dance how we want or else we'll go get drunk and have sex where we can.

no accidents happened that I know of, but even so, no one had fun. everyone just stood there in awe of the whole situation; I had more fun at a sole hour of an afterparty than at the three hours of the dance.

and that can't be right.

can it?


ohyeah. we won the gaaame woopidoo. I drove one of the members of the homecoming court in the parade beforehand. and then there was the "ooooh is that your car?" etc. that was fun

MINOR CAR TROUBLES.
the muffler kind of drags on the ground when I make left turns.
I went to the shop today after school and something needs to go somewhere and something else. all I know is that IT STILL DRAGS.

and I feel very unsafe driving it.

it rained 99.9% of the time during my stay in the adirondacks..but for the .1% it was sunny, it was amazing.

paddling our boat back to shore because I happened to notice black smoke fuming out of the engine. :B that was pretty.
lots of reading. there was a book sale at the library so I picked up some Harlan Coben, Nicholas Sparks, and James Patterson.

STORYTIME
last night at the lake house is always all you can eat. my mom doesn't want to take home much food. so we were out on our dock with an array of food ranging from triscuits to cold pizza to dried mango to cucumbers and five ducks swam towards us. I, being the duck lover I am [sarcasm], always have to feed the ducks. we went through a box of graham crackers earlier in the trip feeding ducks, so we started feeding them leftover food that no one was eating. I fed them a slice of cold pizza, sitting about six inches away from the edge of the dock, and after it was gone, one actually flew up on the dock right next to me [I jumped. it plopped back in the water.] three triscuits, two slices of cheddar, four slices of mozzerella, and a tomato slice later, this same duck jumped up on the dock a total of three times, tried to bite one of my toes, and bit one of my fingers.

and yet the ducks followed me around the dock for about an hour and a half. even after I had no food for them.

there's really no update.
just workworkwork.. and more work.

my older sister comes home from her Aspen, CO music camp next friday..
which reminds me.

kitchen construction. my room is right over the kitchen. a wall was knocked out [which unfortunately is meant to hold my room up] and a vent duct was in the way. I had to clear out half of my room completely so the construction guys could come in and move the vent.
I spent mannny hours packing my stuff up in boxes and clearing out the space until 4am the day of the construction, and woke up to find that the workers came into my room at 7am, realized I had two vents, and decided that THEY DIDN'T NEED TO DO ANY WORK.

AT ALL.

work kickoff party last wednesday.

cousin's graduation party was today. princeton's done. she was in china collectively for over a year..and she's decided to go to med school instead now. nice, Ashley.

for the past two and a half months, i've taken an SAT every saturday at Widener University. and then a class as well. [that's a test on one day. and a three-four hour class the next day].

in other news, there are only five or six lacrosse games left :c

i love lacrosse.

JV has lost one game to a team new to our league.
varsity hasn't lost any.
we're the team to beat.
so we'll have midpenns the week or two after the actual season is over...extending the season an extra three or four weeks.

and then SUMMER.

wow.

and WORK. i think i'm quitting. if i can find another job that doesn't involve 20K tourists a day or five pound chocolate bars.

but we'll see.

UPDATE:
THANK GOD THOSE ARE OVER. PSSAs are bad to begin with...but we finished the math and english sections a few weeks ago. for the past three days, i've had two hours of SCIENCE.

it's gross. trust me.
but it's over. c:

should be a relatively easy week now. the PSSAs weren't fun..but it was better than two periods of class...but i missed my studyhall and world cultures II class today :C [they're awesome.] physics was the only class i didn't miss. [i missed wind symphony, french 5, comp3, and precalc. it made my week that much better].

AND

one hour delay schedule on friday!! mock accident. a bunch of school thespians [actors/actresses, foo] get all dressed up in prom clothes and then professionals come in and decorate them. with blood. and cuts. and bruises. [it's a performance in the parkinglot with two crashed cars and the students climb out, screaming, crying...to show you what NOT to do on prom night...senior prom..that is. sophomore/junior prom was last weekend.] mock accident is just for juniors/seniors. the past two years i've been stuck with a crappy video...so in a sick way, i'm excited to see it. curious, i guess. then the firetrucks/police come...it's realistic in every possible way [except for the 500+ kids standing around the crash scene]...and my physics teacher made the test on friday somewhat easier..because of the shortened classes. 30 mult. choice [2pts. each] and 3 open-ended [10pts. each] verses 20 4pt. mult. choice and 4 10pt. open-ended.

still worried.
OH WELL.

senior night was tonight. [lacrosse.] we won our game today. we have a game tomorrow. we have a game on friday. we have a game next monday/wednesday/friday/saturday...then we make up post-poned games and head to midpenns!

and then...FINALS
but finals mean SUMMMMMEERRRR.

it's gotten to the point where i dread the weekends.

every saturday. 9-1.15.
and sunday is just class. 1-4.
that leaves the remaining hours for..more lacrosse. and more homework.

prom is in two weeks.
and i'm kind of freaking out about that.
drama always comes up around this time.
with dinner and planning.
it's juust beginning.
and i just want to go sit in a corner and cover my eyes until it's all over.

the only thing that's keeping me together right now is friends.

So I just began to look forward to summer.

...and it can't come any slower.

My friends and I are making lists of things we want to do; we always have ideas but never follow through. So far, Hanna and I are going to skateboard. I have a skateboard, but I'm not exactly a steady person...and the extra height doesn't help my cause. Also, we're going to go to [at least] a concert. The Giant Center is seriously about three miles from my house. and across the street from where I work. and less than two miles away from Hanna's house. and we've never been there. ever.
Then there's the week-long beach trip with my cousin [we'll both have our licenses by then...I could have gotten mine about a year ago C: that's me and my procrastinating skills.] Tyler wants to get me to watch Fight Club. He already made me watch Remember the Titans ["YOU'VE NEVER SEEN IT? I BET YOU'RE THE ONLY AMERICAN WHO HASN'T SEEN IT."] Then of course, prom is coming up. <sub>#1. to all of you who keep asking when i'm going to upload something: I'M SORRY. i've been so busy lately, and nothing's slowing down until at least the end of May. BUT I'LL WORK ON STUFF. #2. lacrosse season began yesterday. woo. and since i was out all last season due to a sprained ankle and continuing back problems, my coach stuck me with the beginners. and i was pissed. but i was upgraded to varsity practice today. yaay.#3. SAT classes begin next weekend. that's six hours a weekend. three saturday. three sunday. until may. ew.#4. where everything comes together to create a single hell: Prom night. april 26th. i was asked to a prom at another school. and he would have come to my prom. but they're on the same night. and to top it off, at 11 that morning, i have a lacrosse game. at 2 that afternoon, i have my SAT class, until 5. [which conflicts with the fact i'm supposed to be at dinner at 5, and be at a friend's to get ready at 3]THIS'LL BE FUN. 8D
...but despite all of the conflicts, i'm so glad it's lacrosse season. i missed it soo much. :C

_{i'm sitting here at a new computer [which is nice] at 3.30am [which is not-so-nice] and i have to wake up for school in two and a half hours. :C my weekend has been...long. and ended three and a half hours ago [i missed a day of class...president's day...aka snow makeup day].FRIDAY AFTER SCHOOL.physics test. after physics, i had to go to guidance [course selection stuff that i missed when i was out for a week sick] and set [for west side story] which i'd already missed most of [to take the test and talk to guidance]. when i went to the locker room to change [we were painting the stage black], it was LOCKED. it was also 3.30pm. school  had gotten out an hour before, which makes no sense because if i had gone to lacrosse [which i was also supposed to be at], i wouldn't have been able to get back in to change out of weightroomstuffs. then i went home. and talked to hanna and hallie about the upcoming saturday night.SATURDAY.i needed new jeans. i drove to the closest mall, ran into american eagle, got my jeans, ran out. that was fifteen minutes. and twenty minutes driving both directions. my mom drove as i changed my pants in the backseat [my holy ripped up jeans weren't good to be wearing with loose wires...they had a tail about five inches long hanging off my left ankle] and we picked up hallie. at 11am, we got to stagecrew [installing a new lighting system] and set up all the scenes from the first act for the lighting people to do their thang. meanwhile, i was receiving and making calls to/from tyler and kate regarding that night. things were way more confusing than they should have been. i won't bother explaining. at 3.40pm, we got out of stagecrew and hitched a ride home. when i got home, i drove over to a family friend's house to feed molly [and then his mom's cat, kitty] which took about a half hour. afterwards, i changed and got everything together for dinner at kate's house at 6pm [WHICH WAS AMAZING] and hallie picked kate and me up at 7pm for a movie. in the car on the way to the cocoaplex, i got a call from tyler, saying he had just gotten there, so it all worked out. *phew* we [tyler, kate, hanna, hallie] watched Jumper, stood outside and talked, witnessed an accident [involving a guy our age who was expelled about a year ago after carjacking a BMW, getting high, taking it for a joyride, and crashing it...], and went to a cafe to chill for a little. [where we saw bailey]. THENISLEPT. <3SUNDAY.left at 8am for OHIO. junior day at denison university. seven hour drive. i drove for three of the seven. i slept for most of the remaining four hours. we got to heath around 3pm, drove around denison [didn't really like the town...], convinced my mom to take me to visit ohio state for a little [loved colombus and the campus], and saw the biggest basket in the world. we went out for dinner, i got on a hotel computer and wrote a french paper and checked math homework, and i was asleep by midnight.MONDAY. [school today. need to make up two tests]drove to denison. checked in with admissions. went on a fine arts tour. sat in on a french class. ate lunch. talked to the admissions councillor for my area of the universe. went on an athletics tour. left denison at 4.45pm. as soon as we got on highway, it started snowing. we drove at 15-25mph for about three hours. couldn't see the road. ended up in the middle of a blizzard. pulled over at a gas station to sleep...and got home around forty minutes ago. in two words: completely amazing.

as usual, hallie picked kate and me up for bailey's house. at bailey's, we met up with meaghan, marjorie, katie, hanna, and of course, bailey. [not to mention the twelve kids downstairs. drew's eighth grade friends. they. were. so. loud.]

first, we all talked and decorated the cake. it started out just plain blue with 'happy new year' on it. then we put our names on it. then meaghan covered the whole thing with sprinkles. and bailey decided to rewrite our names in this red icing. then she covered them all with the icing again, so i drew a really big heart over it all.

we played Catchphrase for about two hours after that. [we do it every year. and every year, one of drew's friends, keegan, always gets 'silicone' and refers to implants. ]

we walked into town at about 11pm[about a two minute walk] to watch the annual Kiss Drop. [i call it that. because that's what it should be. Kiss Raise sounds stupid. and it is stupid.] we watched the bands play and snuck up front. i have no idea how many people there. apparently, there were 10,000 last year...and it only got bigger. this group of guy behind me were being complete asses ['scuse the french] and kept trying to mosh into us. and like grabbing us. so we just ignored them.

the new year came, fireworks went off. THEY WERE AWESOME. my neck hurt from looking up. D: BUT THEY WERE STILL AWESOME. we liked the sparkly ones the best. everyone that went off was accompanied by a 'OOHHHH SPARKLES.'

we walked back to bailey's...through tons of traffic. marjorie and i started skipping down the street and lost everyone. majorie turned around and i kept going by myself [i was completely oblivious] and i turned around and i was at the opposite end of the parkinglot with cars everywhere. D: i went to cross the traffic and this one guy opened his window and said 'hey baby.' i had no intention to say this aloud, but kind of loud...i said 'EWWWWW' and kept going.

when we got back we dinner. pizza. mm. hallie, meaghan, marjorie and i also did those pully-stringy-poof-there's-confetti-things outside. with the last one i did, the string just fell out. it was a 'omfg' moment and i just stood there with my eyes wide. i ripped out the bottom and threw it up in the air.

AND THEN I PLAYED GUITAR HERO FOR THE FIRST TIME. it was so exciting. i played Miss Murder [afi] and Bulls On Parade [Rage Against the Machine] and ... a beastie boys song. then joe came downstairs and totally blew my accomplishments to hell. he was all expert doing it behind his back. pshhh.

then everyone fell asleep after another few hours of Catchphrase.

hallie and i stayed up until 6.45am watching movies.







and i only told that whole story SO I COULD TELL Y'ALL ABOUT GUITAR HERO.

even though we're only supposed to go if we're under 13. ooops.

COSTUME! some of you may know that i was working on it about fifteen minutes before i went to meet my friends. yes i have friends.

i was a groupie [black pants, "I'm with the band" lime green shirt, printed out VIP/backstage passes with packing tape all over them, headphones around my neck, lots of sparkles], hallie was a butterfly [butterfly wings], hanna was a witch crackwhore [witch hat, pj's, t-shirt...her mom wouldn't let her make a fake joint ], bailey was a bird [bird mask with beak]

surprisingly, more people knew that i was a groupie than the people who knew hallie was a butterfly.

i saw my friend [more of a guy who sits next to me in brit lit and steals various things from my bag, returns them the next day, and decorates my assignment book on a daily basis] Joe and yelled his name. he turned around, couldn't see me [it was dark], and i said 'it's courtney.'
Joe: oohhh
Joe's little brother [he's fifteen] grabs my arm: what time is it? [with a slur]
Me: 7.10.
brother starts to run to their house.
Joe: he's on probation with an ankle cuff. needed to be back at 7pm.
Me: =\ i did see a police van earlier.
Joe: really? driving around here?
Me: yeah. but it was about an hour ago.

we walked to Joe's house later.
*doorbell*
Ryan [friend] opens door: heeeeerrree [slur] take sooome caaandy. [falls into door] Joooe is across the streeeeet.

we walk to the next house, across the street.
Joe: hey courtney
Me: joe! we just went to your house but you weren't there.
Joe: WHAT? DID YOU GET CANDY?
Me: yep. Ryan was there.
Joe: okay. good. can i have some of your candy, then?
Me: if you still have that ring you "borrowed" from me in brit lit
Joe: CRAP! did i really take it? [searches pockets] FOUND IT! [throws ring at me] now can i have candy?
Me: suure. [holds open bag as Joe sticks his face fully into the bag, looking around]

two minutes later. still looking.

Me: you know...if you don't want anything...
Joe: NO! i'm juss ... uhh... looking for something.
Me: Joe? are you completely sober?
Joe: [thinks. slowly pulls a curled finger up to his face] shhhhhhh...not in front of the little kids. [motions to my friends]
Me: those would be fellow junior friends of mine.
Joe: really?
Hanna: JOE YOU RETARD! I SAT BEHIND YOU IN CHEM ALL LAST YEAR!
Joe: [confused] uuhhmm...ooh yeahh. [no.] you [points to bailey] take off your mask. oh...i know you....[another no.]
Me: i can smell the alcohol coming off of you, Joe.
Joe: really? i better get back! [stumbles away] y'all come back now later!
Hallie: my favorite part was the 'are you completely sober? shhhhhhhh'
Hanna: mine was when he was just staring at the candy.
Bailey: HE CALLED ME LITTLE!

[done trick or treating...still time leftover. i convince my friends to go visit Joe again. just for giggles.]
*rings doorbell*
Hallie: [grabs my arm and points at the window, where shades are split apart and Joe's brother is staring at us through the crack] COURTNEY. [brother opens door]
brother: what do you want.
Me: umm...candy?
brother: JOOOEEE THE BLONDE IS HERE
Joe: hey! [Ryan stumbles out the door]
