I've been drinkin' a bit. Nothin' crazy, just the usual. I check deviantart like I do every day and find a note. I like when I find these because 9 out of 10 times, it's someone lookin' for some freelance art.

So, I read the note, and about 5 sentences in, I read "no pay"... For a 14 page job...

I understand its tough to get projects goin', and money is usually tight, but this isn't the way to get quality work on your book.

so, i had the pleasure of working with writer chris irvin, again, for one of his short stories (keep the devil down the hole). the magazine in which his story and my illustrations appear is "dreadworks journal". other fiction stories and interviews are showcased in the magazine. chris was nice enough to send a few copies my way, and i was very impressed with the design, layout, and professional appearance of this publication. this is no self-made kinkos job. any interested parties can contact chris to purchase a copy.

the other day, ronnie james dio passed away. he had been suffering from stomach cancer for some time.

my character, the holy diver, is based off of that one line from the song. but the whole thing started out as a joke, kinda.

i loved it. i saw inglorious basterds friday night and it was great. a friend of mine also saw it with me and he didn't care for it. usually we're on the same page when it comes to opinions with movies. he complained about too much dialogue. you have to expect that with a tarantino film. i'll admit, there was a lot of dialogue, but i wasn't bothered by any of it in the least. it wasn't a bore-fest like "death proof". maybe im a little biased. the movie did involve a bunch of nazi killin', and thats right up my alley. the movie is around 2 1/2 hours, which i like. the movie had some great comedic moments as well.
