Well, well, well, well. I think, yes, I'm going to start posting stuff again. Lots more stuff. I'm drawing loads at the moment. Comics, pictures, other stuff. All my creative juices are flowing freely and I'm sticky with ideas, so please keep watching and commenting.

Speaking of that, thanks for all the favourites and comments that have been made over the last load of months. I had so many messages it would have taken bloomin' ages to reply to, so I just deleted them.
I'm a cad, I know, so I'm saying thanks to you all now. I will try to keep up to date with them.

I just need to go through my huge stack of deviations now.

He's more in than out to be honest and I'm sure he's been carousing with the local Tom Cats and Hyper Foxes that inhabit the filthier end of the street. I usually don't mind, I sometimes even leave a bit food out for them (dog or catfood, never bread soaked in milk) as they keep the toad and newt population down, but there must have been at least ten or twelve dancing and chanting about on my lawn.

One was carving mystic sigils into the fence which I am NOT having.

I threw my slipper at them and they soon scattered.

I'm thinking of getting a plastic Warlock set up in the flowerbeds...that should keep them away.

My mind is just pulling in all sorts of directions, and I want to do everything at once. I want to keep producing my paintings, but I have several directions I want to take them in. But do I go one direction with paintings and one direction with digital stuff? Does my digital work and my painted work need to be similar? Do I keep doing comic stuff? I've got something I want to try, a weekly thing, but do I have time to? Will it make money?
Will any of it any make any money. That's a big question, one that one day I'd like answered because I would love to do that. I would love to.
I don't know, I'd set myself a target of selling at least one painting by the end of the month and so far I have got nowhere near that.
Its all so confusing and it's stopping me sleeping.

Can you help? CAN YOU!

I am looking for artists who live in my area or within the west sussex region...yes, yes I know that there are loads, but I'm not interested in those who can do watercolours of Venice or kittens poking out of boots.
I'm looking for alternative artists, or low-brow artists or people who do stuff that doesn't really fit into the regular category?

Why?
I'll tell you.

One. I don't want to be alone out here anymore.
Two. It would be nice to form some kind of art group that's not full of middle aged women.
Three. I'd like to set up some kind of gallery type showing thing.

Please bare in mind I have no idea how to set up something like this, or have no financial backing...or even a venue but it's something I'm very, very interested in.

Please let me know by email or a deviantart note.

Cheers

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

You know what frustrates me.

Why doesn't my brain work like these guys.
and .

I'm not talking about the artwork, despite not seeing what everyone else see's I know I can draw and I know that people like it so that's fine, its just the way their minds work.

And its not just with these guys, there are load's of other artists out there who seem to have that little spark, that little smidgeon of creative playfulness and intelligence that I don't think exists in me and that stands them apart.

How do you tap into that stuff? How do you dig deeper? Is it just there or do you have to work at it?

I think its that 'thing' that makes these people artists and the rest of us just workers at the mill.

So, my life could be a lot more exciting...maybe I should say it holds the promise of excitement...I don't now, I'm waffling.

All of that doesn't lead me on to next point, but I'm going to make it anyway.
I'd really like to get to know all the kind people who watch me a little better, so you become more than just names and avatars. There's a few people whom I've started to chat to proplerly but I need to speak to more, you see, I really like people.
SO, I'm urging you all to start putting messages and stuff in the forum on my journal page, its sitting there empty when it could be filled with lots of lovely new people.
That way we can all become more than avatars and names...which reminds me, I really must change mine, its not christmas anymore.

---------------------------------------- -------------------------------

Well, I watched Van Helsing on saturday, and against all odds, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I know that's not the popular opinion and I can see why it was universally slated but I thought it was fantastic.

Ok, the writing wasn't that great, and the plot didn't make much sense and it has possibly the worst portrayal of Dracula I have ever seen, but that didn't matter. It had monsters, fighting, it had flying bat creature things, it had over the top stunts but most of all I really loved the idea behind it.
I love the blurring of fact and fiction, and the mixing of genres and characters. Kim Newman does it in his Dracula books, and The League of Extraordianry Gentlemen (both the comics and the film) do it as well. Stick it all in a period film and bingo, I'm hooked.

If going someone makes Sherlock Holmes vs Dracula (an excellent book) my life will be complete.

---------------------------------------- -------------------------------
Um...it seems the only thing I'm adding to my journal is the fact that I am adding something to my journal, which isn't very interesting. Or clever.
