Students say they fear for their safety following a number of burglaries at the University of Bedfordshire.

Beds Police are currently investigating break-ins at the Polhill Avenue campus halls of residence in Bedford, which took place over the Christmas break.

But undergraduates are worried about their safety as they believe master keys were used to gain access to their rooms – and, because the university has not changed the locks, the culprit could strike again.

Dawn Vidican, 33, a third-year education studies student, had her room broken into.

She said: "The master keys were used in many cases, we're all concerned about safety and some of the girls are having trouble sleeping.

"Many of them are only 19 or 20 years old and have started to have nightmares.

"Three days after the burglaries the university had not changed the locks or the codes to the doors and they have still not changed the locks now.

"They did not even tell some of the girls there had been a burglary over Christmas."

A spokesman for Beds Police confirmed they had received reports of burglaries at the university halls and that officers believed keys may have been involved.

A spokesman for the university said: "There have been a small number of burglaries at the Bedford campus which the police are currently investigating.

"The university is cooperating fully with these investigations.
"We work very closely with Bedfordshire Police whose community support officers hold regular surgeries for students to answer questions and provide crime prevention and safety advice."

The university did not wish to comment on whether keys had been used in the burglaries.

I'm not doing much art-wise right now other than the odd doodle, just can't be arsed/turns out bad/get bored. I'm eager to put some art up, but until I find something fun to work with I'm stuck.

A-level results come on Thursday 14th, hopefully everything will turn out fine and I'll be packing up my things and going to university, woot.

Art exam is far behind me now, next up is a stream of my final June exams. 5 actually, 3 of which I need to revise for. So all in all, it isn't so bad. Laid all my commitments and things-to-do out on the table today and for once I feel somewhat organised.

Trying to keep myself relaxed between revision with some WoW, Tomb Raider (although that's more terror than relaxation!), reading and the odd idea for artwork. Just having spots of each to keep it safe while exams blow over, then it's off to Finland for July (looking at 20th June to 3rd August). I'm so excited, and the prospect (together with the fantastic guy himself) is keeping me fairly happy.

Will spent some time with friends at parties and whatnot before and after that, then I'm leaving home :( It's a scary thought despite the fact I'll only be 20mins away.

Here we go, 8 facts about myself:

1. I play WoW too much (the obvious one).

2. I can't pronounce my boyfriend's surname (Leszczynski).

3. I had to go onto my email inbox to make sure I spelled that right.

4. I have jealousy issues, bigtime. And some others too but I won't go into those.

5. After creating a piece of art I think is really good (like my best evah) I think it's a load of crap after approx. 2 days or 5-10 'looks'.

6. I cut the edges off my meat (much to the annoyance of the cook).

7. I whine for things I do not need and get bored of /regret it later (for example the new tablet my dad has gone out to buy today).

8. I haven't tried many/most of the 'basic' foodstuffs/popular foodstuffs and claim that I simply 'do not like them'. Several of the biggest ones are eggs, tomato, bacon, coleslaw, broccoli, brussels, parsnips and onion together with cultural foods such as Chinese, Thai and Indian. I tried my first cabbage leaf at New Year's 2008. But I haven't had lettuce yet.

Right so um, I now have...*counts on fingers*...4 DAYS to complete my art project. And by complete I mean, basically start it. Trying to fight through a nasty block and the feeling of 'I don't know what the hell I'm doing.' Sigh.

HOWEVER, the project has had a spin put onto it by the fact that my art teachers are letting me use DIGITAL ART. Yes. In my folder work (showing how I draw the pics) and even for the 15-hour final piece. I'll be sitting on Sean's (thankyou!) laptop with my (new hopefully) tablet, photoshop, possibly OpenCanvas and my external hard drive for 3 days composing what (I hope) will be a magnificent (for me anyway) piece.

What more you say? It's on mythical beasts. Gryphons. Dragons. Satyrs. Wyverns.

Think I'd better get started, don't you?

Expect some snippets of my folderwork in the upcoming days.

My wonderful slacky Easter break is over, school sucks and I'm so boooored. Bleh.

Told off by my Geography teacher today for a video I put on Youtube, filmed on our last school trip. Was only for fun but school policy or whatever didn't seem to enjoy it. Also had the first Tuesday at my new work placement in a local lower school so I'm so goddamn tired.

Was introduced further into Ragnarok Online by my other half, it's good for inspo - makes me want to draw anime again noes! D: Already have a sketch 'completed' of my main character but not sure if I'll take it any further than that. Will be seen.

The Easter holidays have begun, everything's smily and happy and whatnot, and I'm getting more into the WoW digital art...thingies I do. In fact I probably won't be doing much else other than WoW stuff so I'll put links to all of it here instead.

Commissions are still open for anything WoW-related, though characters may take longer. If you want a character, please send me a note with the exact armor and weapons you want them to have. 2007 has proven to be very hectic and crazy and bleh o.< a lot has changed, a lot has ended and a lot has just begun to peek its head around the corner.

My drawing time has now withered quite a lot, it just doesn't interest me much anymore and I can never think of things to do. There's just the odd bit of inspo and then it dies again. School is increasingly demanding and my time is being eaten up.

Another year nearly over, feeling a bit sad at this time but determined to start trying to grow up soon.

Been doodling dragons lately, taken an interest in learning the actual anatomies rather than just funny-looking lizard things. Would be nice to actually be able to draw something more impressive. Meh. One of the dragons I drew is up in scraps now so GOGO.

It's good to finally be drawing again! The block is over and new ideas are filling my head on a regular basis. I seem to be finding plenty of time to get to work on these as well as keeping up with my dreary schoolwork, and I'm hoping much much more will appear as a result of this!

The latest project for me, as you'll most probably be aware, is creating all of the different warlockian minions and special pets/mounts! I'm so into my soon-to-be second 60, and the pets are great fun to draw. Rupnik (Imp) and Belthak (Void) are down, next up is (the somewhat kinky) Hesva (Succubus)!

Another picture came up out of the blue the other day! A Frostwolf Howler from Warcraft which came out okay and was great fun to make, too. Yayful. Hoping I can do more like that.

Got another planned, was hoping I could have it as my 'devil's day' picture (lol) but it's nearly 5pm and I haven't started yet! And seeing as I can't be fully bothered, it's so bright in here and I've got an exam tomorrow...it probably won't arrive. Probably. I could be wrong.

Okay it's been a week since my last update (shock horror), things seem to have finally settled down and there's only tomorrow then...aaah school again! Got my art gcse exam next week (the joy), but I'm feeling a little better despite my painful stomach, and I think I'm just about ready to go back and face it all. So go me.

After the nasty breakdown of projects last week, things have bucked up a bit and there's now a couple of things worming their way in slowly. I'm hoping to see a lot more up on that little list down there.

Finished Jen's dA Birthday Piece shortly after the last journal which was quite surprising - kind of on-the-spur, but glad that's over. Plus it's kinda cute =) [link]

The video is postponed for now. There's a couple of factors I need to sort out before making which can't be achieved all too quickly. But it's gonna be around soon, although it'll probably be up sometime around May - August. Depends how things go.

Had a crazy idea in the car last night coming back from my granparent's...a funny little video about my friends X3 (what is it about my recent video-obsession?). Looked quite funny, but most of those kinda ideas stay 'up there', so I won't put it as a project or anything.

After some server troubles on Ragnaros on Warcraft, been kinda inspired to draw a picture that I made up. Yayful. Another picture of my druid. May go with a different style, this time, so I can use the sketch-lineart-colouring stars again yaaaay.

Not that anyone has noticed or has cared, but I haven't updated in about a month now. My artwork has been stunted, i haven't touched Photoshop in aeons and I'm crashing into myself (if that's even possible).

It's the easter holidays, and it's great and all...but my days are now following a strict routine that's hard to break out of. Wake up, read a chapter of Eldest, play DS for a bit unless the battery's dead (again), work on Art Exam Prep (ARGH) until lunch, play Warcraft solid until midnight, go to bed, repeat. Ugh.

I'm exhausted, lonely, depressed...and slowly, slowly deteriorating under my isolation. If I don't go outside tomorrow I've failed a(nother) resolution. My prep is going terribly, there's hardly anything in it, I can't reach inside and find my artistic-ness to think of final designs, I've got shit loads of other work to do, I'm shivering and feel sick...I need a pick-me-up. Like, right now.

Got round to finishing the second 'secret' dA piece. It's called Sheena (!!) and is dedicated to a new friend of mine, Bryony aka Felkatil.

Got some other stuff I want to finish, may work on Elsa if bothered/possible, really unsure about the Clow Cards. Also the Blood Shock intro is heavily postponed, it will be taken down from the list as of today until I have time to sort it out.

In its place will be another video...another video indeed. Sadly, at this point in time, it has to be called 'The Secret dA Video'. I'm keeping this one heavily covered for now. It shall be much fun to make, and hopefully a lot less work than Blood Shock.

On that note, I will also have to discontinue Redskyeraven's Clow Card, as I just don't have the time and skill to continue the series. This could change, we'll just have to see! So apologies to her for the inconvenience.

I'm back from the Warcraft pit once again to work on a new picture. Got inspired to work by a couple of people who draw waaaaay ahead of me, so decided to give a couple more styles a go with the old pencil and pen-tool.

The likely name for my new piece! Don't want to give too much away right now...hoping it'll come out well enough for me to post hastily before I begin to dislike it...

The idea came out of nowhere, really. Sitting in registration on a Friday morning, scribbling down a little stick person which grew into a fancy-looking elven child. I've often been told then I look a little like one of these children (err...how?), but despite this I can only really see one person in the figure...it really does remind me of a good friend who I wish I could spend more time with.

People who know me in real life will probably have seen this picture many times, most probably before it was actually finished. Now I'm up to colouring and it's looking probable that it will appear on dA sometime around the earlier days of March. I'm hoping it will, at least.

I know, I know...I've been badly slacking on all of my outstanding projects...got a little of ~Wolfgodess' picture done, 'Scary Dreams' can finally be cleared [link] as well, and once again I've started yet another piece! :eyepopping:

This one I'm keeping a secret for now...it, I'm afraid, has my full attention at the moment, so sorry to ~redskyeraven for the span of no-credit-ness...thing. Meep.

The secret-ness comes from a variety of sources...most of which I can't really mention due to...issues...but I'm really hoping I can spend enough time getting it right. It's also hard to track my progress, as there are no set stars (did anyone notice that my completion stars below stand for sketch, lineart and colouring? ;)). With this piece, it's all made with the mouse. 100% in digital art, no sketches or lineart or whatever...it's from scratch. And I can't wait to see how it turns out.

And of course if something goes wrong I can always say 'what project?' ^^;

Honna-nachi-waaaa just a few updates.

I have my 'TAG' and '100 Things...' journals done now, if you want an insight to meee have a look at those, my art recently isn't exactly shining, excuse the Blade Liger, but I'm hopefully going to get round to some new anime art pretty soon (by that I mean if I can be bothered to).

This is the err....'codename', if you will, for my new animation that started a few weeks ago. It's in the style of 'She and Her Cat', the 5-minute-masterpiece by Makoto Shinkai (which I highly recommend watching) with the quiet, flat voiceover on black and white, well-drawn scenes.

I have only just started boarding, having both the full Japanese script (in romaji as well as hiragana phonetics) and English translation (for the subtitles) completed. A couple of base photographs have also been taken to aid the boarding process and design sketches. Yaaahs I am scripting, boarding, directing, animating and voicing the animation myself in Japanese with subtitles, so it's going to take quite a while to do. I'm in no rush, but I'm hoping to see a polished version by Christmas for first full viewing at the NMKAC Christmas Party before submitting on Deviantart.

No insight to the animation just yet, it's more of a secret work that's on behind the scenes, me quietly boarding and muttering the script in Japanese to myself as it progresses. People who know me may see the scripts flashing around school now and again, or see some of the animation frames that I'll be working on next.

The project started a while ago, can't recall the date but I know it was a Friday due to the script and, hence, the first title. I may decide to rename it to suit the line, but it isn't necessary.

Hmm. Well. I guess I'll have a go...(thanks, Niisan =_=)

1. I love getting mail (not email, real mail. you know, through the post? ugh...).

2. It annoys me SO MUCH when people on msn have emotes set to letters of the alphabet, so you can't actually read what they've written. I HATE it.

3. In year 8, on the Swanage trip, I played a ghost prank that destroyed most of my still-growing friendships with people that now hate me.

4. I hate tight paths with dead ends. You can't turn around. You're stuck. *shivers*...next please..?

5. I've always wanted to write a song.

6. I've always wanted to write a book.

7. I've never been able to finish any of them.

8. I love life.

9. I hate it when people abuse life, or think they are always worse off.

10. I believe that I am the only person in the world, and that everything revolves around me; I don't know what the heck all this is but it's freaky and makes my eyes hurt.

11. Everything has to be perfect, or near enough, otherwise I'm never completely satisfied.

12. No matter how caring I may seem, I'm always somehow being selfish.

13. It warms me to see someone smile at a comment I have made/written, even more so when it sparks a chain of laughter in a room.

14. I have a list of people who mean a lot and what they have shown me - some have songs that reflect them, and make me think of them whenever I hear them. It's a good read...

15. I get frustrated a lot when I draw or do something creative, because I always know I can do better.

16. Something that has always annoyed me to the extent of a strop, is knowing that something good is going to happen, being really excited, and at the last minute it fails you.

17. I had to wear a train-track brace for roughly three years because I sucked not on my thumb, but on the index and middle fingers of my right hand since I can remember up until about year 6.

18. My sides include:
a) Vic pH7 version 1 - Intellectual, productive, creative - will listen to anime or game ambience music, draw peaceful characters with pale blues and greens, sit wistfully thinking about Japanese and people, would like to be in a Japanese cultured room with an inset bed, screens, wind chimes...etc. Will comfort and advise to the fullest.
version 2 - original tomboyish Vic. Listens to skater music or light rock, will slouch in a chair and nod along. Talks mildly like my cousin James, stays relaxed and carefree. Very focused and determined.
b) Vic pH12.5 - clumsy, squeaky, playful, shy and easily embarrassed. Quite a common side, especially around people I care about =^^=. Listens to maybe a slightly more girly Japanese music group. Competitive, fun to be with but annoying, can raise a laugh, enjoys hanging with friends. Would like to be in someone else's house with friends or relatives.
c) Vic pH2.2 - taken to being dark and silently angry. Unless of course I'm moshing about listening to Slipknot, which in that case I'll be going nuts over loud, loud music, probably until very early in the morning. Will draw skulls or scenes with blood, very dark and painful pictures, or ones of monsters/strange creatures. Thinks about bad times and memories, will most likely cry frantically while lying on the floor or at a desk at some time or another.
Anything else is just in between, may do things from each. Only a few people will know all sides, most probably don't have a clue what I'm on about!

19. I won't fib or lie, at least not most of the time. I have to be honest with people to stay trustworthy. People can confide in me as long as I, them. I hate it when people make stupid little lies that are pointless just to gain a friendship or impress, because most of the time it's so stupidly obvious.

20. I could go on for days like this, but I'll have to stop at 20 (or...19).

Ahh...so, great party last night, including huge sugar rush :P luckily my stomach isn't playing hell on me this morning after staying up on msn part 2am XD (no comment). LIVE LONG, NMKAC! Breadstick wars, Pocky, Domo-Kun (XD), Bark Mode...niiiice.

So anyway as of today I have no new art (still) =_= but since it's the holidays I'll try and get something Halloween-y up for everyone (everyone being anyone who actually cares :P). If I can be bothered which, as usual, I really can't.

it's hardly been a week and already i'm deteriorating...my friends have all disappeared, my msn convis are all empty, im still sat at the computer idling away the hours hoping they'll return to me before i go on holiday.

yeah so i'm going away on the first of august for 2 weeks, france eeeergain >.< yup so ill be gone...

and while im away ill be celebrating my BIRTHDAY by myself, no ones coming for a sleepover when i get back, we're not having a party, im not hanging out with my friends...nah, im pretty much invisible this year. ill just sit in our happy french holiday home alone holding a ds with no game inside, squeezing as much from harvest moon as i can...this summer is depressing

I'll try and get more pictures up, don't really have much time but I'll try - missing a few maths lessons won't hurt, unless of course I get caught (again >.<;)....

I'm also going to be working on an entirely new project (yes, the Koneko project has been postponed, sorry about that....) which will take up some (a lot) of my time. For those interested in Code Lyoko, join the club (check my deviantwatch), they'll be happy, keep drawing, and before you know it a nice little piece of kit will arrive.

This shall (hopefully) be a 'design your own Code Lyoko character' facility, similar to those paper doll programs you see around the net and the South Park character designer, but it won't be around for quite a while, I can tell you that. Code Lyoko fans keep an eye out, as *when* it is posted it shall include an option for male or female, hair styles, skin colours, facial features, clothes....a whole lot more hopefully as well, but more advanced and complicated features (such AS the clothes) won't be around for a while, so play with the examples and pray to Satan for updates.

Sorry to waste minutes of your worthless lives but I'm sure it was worth using them to read MINE. Ahem.

So anyway keep checking back and all that, listen to Slipknot, draw draw draw and seeyou when I get the first version finished.
