Back in Hell


So I'm back from CT, got back on Sunday. Every time I go up, it becomes harder and harder to leave. I don't think I've felt this depressed in years. I sat and cried yesterday and did nothing but sit on the couch and watch TV. I only pulled the computer out today to try and feel normal. If something doesn't happen to allow us to move back soon, I don't know what I am going to do.

My brother seems to be doing better, so far. Valentine's Day is coming up, though, so I don't know how he will handle that. His ex bought him concert tickets for Christmas, and the concert is tomorrow. He wanted to know if my brother still wanted to go with him, and my brother said no, so he is taking some other friend. Seeing that the tickets were my brother's Christmas present, shouldn't his ex have given him the tickets to do with what he wanted?

Anyway, my sub runs out tomorrow. I'm supposed to be featuring the winner of a contest soon, so I am going to try to renew it this week.

How can you be there for someone that just lost their first true love? My brother was in a relationship for... let's see... one year, 2 1/2 months. He was just broken hearted this morning. I knew it was coming. I got a message the other day from my brother's boyfriend asking me to call him. I did, and he told me what he saw going on in the relationship and that he felt the need to end it. He asked me, if he were to pay for it, would I fly up to be with my brother when he broke up with him. I said yes. My brother called me this morning to tell me it had already happened. He was bauling... I don't know how to be there for him when I can't be there for him. All I could do was listen to him cry and tell him what his ex had talked to me about. I feel like I should have told him it was coming, but it wouldn't have made it any easier and I felt it was up to his ex to be the one to say it. I still feel like a terrible person for not telling him, I really do...

I don't have a whole hell of a lot else to say. I've been working on the website, which is most of the reason why I haven't posted anything new here. My sub is up soon... hope to have some money to renew when it runs out. I should.

She Still Owes Me...


:new: Again, she decided she would email me back instead of call me back. I honestly think she is avoiding my calls and if I called from a number she wouldn't recognize, she would answer. She told me she didn't realize I hadn't gotten the 2nd check. Yeah, ok. I heard (or should I say read?) about how she will have to pay me personally because the license for the new daycare was denied (surprised?) and her husband was laid off. Sad and all, but things like this should be expected and prepared for when you trying running a new business...

Anyway, she said she would get back to me by Monday to let me know when she would send me the rest of my money. We'll see...

Anyway... how was everyone's Christmas? Ours was ok, except for not being able to go home for it. We made a big, yummy dinner. Andrew's father is visiting for a few days, he came out on the 27th. Actually, his flight didn't arrive until a little after midnight so it was technically the 28th, although he was supposed to arrive 3 hours earlier. That's the airport for you!

I am starting up an organic website. It will (hopefully!) have organic information, news, products, maybe recipes... It's proving to be a lot more work than I expected!

I got my checks in the mail, sort of. The check that originally bounced included an extra amount for the bounce fee, but I told her, twice I think, that the bounce fee was $25, and she gave me $10. She also forgot one of the checks. She gave me the new check to replace the one that bounced, and my last check, but forgot the one in the middle. I called her and, of course, I got her voicemail. I emailed her as well. She has yet to get back to me.

As I posted in my last entry, I left the daycare. I am beyond pissed off at my ex-boss right about now. First, the check she gave me which was lacking the overtime pay ended up bouncing. As of last Monday, she owes me 3 checks (including the one which bounced), plus $25 for the bounce fee. It took me days to get ahold of her the first time to tell her that the check bounced, which she said she would take care of. When nothing came of this, I got in contact with her again.

This time, I find out that the owner of the daycare building refused to renew the lease due to the daycare failing the inspections, so the daycare had to shut down. The children and employees were sent to other daycares until my ex-boss can open up her new building. She tells me she will mail out all the checks plus the $25, takes down my address and saves my number in her cell phone (since, apparently, she has lost everything while packing up to move the daycare stuff out of the building). Ok. This was 2 weeks ago. As of Friday, I still had not received any money from her. I call her cell phone and leave an irritated voicemail. Does she call me back? Of course not.

Today, I call her cell phone again. This time, after her voicemail message, I hear an automated voice saying, "This caller can not accept voicemail at this time," or something along those lines, so I send her a numeric page. I wait a few hours to hear nothing back (BIG SURPRISE!), and decide to email her. AMAZING... she writes back! She supposedly LOST MY INFO in the move! :roll: Why didn't she call me? Your guess is as good mine.

As of now, one check is 1 week late, one is 3 weeks late, and the other is 5 weeks late.

Tell me it wasn't the right move to leave... I dare you!

Work Update


:new: I'm leaving the daycare. My last day is next Wednesday. I got tired of everything, which I will not get into detail about, but to top it off, the paycheck I got yesterday did not include pay for the overtime I worked. I got offered another job as a virtual office administrator. It's work at home, so when we move back to CT, I can keep the job. I am waiting on a call back from him to set up when I will start and all that.

I want more people to respond to be featured (especially you people who I watch... yes, I'm talking to you...) Come on! Come on!

It's been far too long since I had the chance to upload anything, so I am glad I finally got to create today. The job at the daycare has kept me far too busy and tired, and I am not liking it one bit, but more about that later. I've caught something from the kids there and so today was a rest day, which is why I was able to create something. The piece I uploaded today was for an art trade with *Gigi-FenixPhoenix, so I hope she likes it!

So... the new job. I have quite a bit I can say about it, but I'm going to skip to the important stuff. The ex-business partner of my boss showed up one day, and we are not supposed to let her in, so she decided to break in. She tells us that our boss stole the business from her and that the daycare is going to be shut down so we better start looking for new jobs. I got the impression that she is something of a lunatic. Apparently, she has been calling DCS (Dept. of Child Safety/Services or something like that) every week complaining that the daycare is breaking regulations.

Week 2, DCS shows up for an inspection. We fail it. I will not go into details, but quite a few regulations were not being met. Our boss is given one week to straighten out the regulations. So, what happens? The regulations get put off until the day before/day of the next inspection.

Week 3, DCS shows up for the second inspection, and we fail again. This time, though, is different. I am in the 2-year old room with the head teacher. Most of the kids are still napping, and the head teacher and I are speaking with a mother who was picking up her daughter. I am holding another one of the children, telling the woman her daughter had behaved very well that day (she is a tantrum thrower normally), when I realize one of the other children had run out of the room. This child runs out of the room CONSTANTLY. I move towards the door to go get him, when my boss and the DCS people bring him back in the room.

Week 3, DCS shows up a second time, the day after the inspection. Three people, including myself, are being accused of child abuse and neglect. Why am I being accused? Because the child ran out of the room and they claim he was in the hallway for 5 minutes. If this particular child had been in the hallway that long, he would have made his way to the kitchen and figured out how to get into some food.

I don't know what is going to happen with all of this, but needless to say, it has me wanting to leave this daycare. I already wanted to, due to the breaking of certain regulations (for example, I have, more than once, been responsible for watching 16 or so children alone, which is out of ratio). I would never in my life even think about harming or neglecting a child. I can't even kill a bug without feeling bad (which is why I usually, carefully, place them outside!).

Anyway... I'm trying not to worry too much before I find out what is going to happen, but it is difficult...

On another note, I've decided to do a different kind of feature, which I got from *Pygar. The first 10-15 people who respond letting me know that want to be featured will have my favorite of their pieces featured here. I say 10-15 because I am not sure 15 people will respond! Let it be a reward to those who read all the way to the bottom of this post.

Working Lady



So the first job I interviewed for never called me back, but the second one did. They offered me a position, but I ended up interviewing with another place, a daycare, which is hiring me for more money/full time, so I turned down the first one (the clothing store). So I start my first real, full time job on Monday... scary. I do realize I'm sort of old for starting my first real job, leave me alone!

My days are going to be 9:30-5:30, with the first half of the day pretty much chasing after rowdy 2 and 3 year olds, changing diapers of the 2 year olds and getting the 3 year olds to use the toilet. The second half of the day will be in the nursery changing diapers of the 6 weeks to 24 month olds. Let's just say I'm a little more than nervous because... to be honest... I've never changed a diaper before *hides in shame* I hope those motherly instincts don't only kick in when you have your own kids...

So Monday is my first day of work and the hubby's and my 1 year anniversary. Presents are welcome... just kidding ;) The best present would be to get to move home!

Life and stuff



First, I have to thank *jojodrums for my new subscription! I told her she shouldn't but she's evil (and sweet) and did it anyway :D

I typed out this whole journal entry Saturday night, but my browser froze before I could save it, and I lost it all... so, here goes again.

Life... life is strange, scary, confusing... When I was 8, and my family and I moved, my brother made friends with a boy across the street from us, Corey. My brother was 4 and Corey was 5. My mom became Corey's babysitter, and babysat him until he was about 16 (he was something of a troublemaker and couldn't be trusted home alone for the longest time). She has also babysat his little brother, Karl, from the time he was 6 weeks old. Corey is now almost 21, and Karl, who she is still babysitting, is 12. In the 16ish years they have known each other, my mom and Corey and Karl's mom, Laura, have become best friends. I consider Laura family and Corey and Karl are like little brothers to me.

On Thursday, Laura's neice and nephew, Jessica and Anthony, along with one of their friends, were killed in a car accident. They were on their way home from school Thursday morning because classes were canceled. They were apparently speeding when a truck towing a boat cut them off. They clipped the boat, spun into oncoming traffic and were hit by a box truck. The driver's side of the car was completely demolished, it took 6 hours to get Anthony's body out of the car. Anthony was 17, Jessica and her friend were 14.

I don't remember ever meeting them (although it's possible, having known Laura and her boys for so long), but caring about people they were relateed to... it's bothering me. It makes me think of Andrew's and my accident... what if it had been us? What if we hadn't gotten lucky and walked away from a totaled car barely touched? It's just scary to know that no matter how safe you are... you really aren't.

On another note, in honor of my new sub and Halloween being my favorite holiday, I decided to feature some Halloween deviations.

So now my birthday is in one week and one day... It's depressing. Not because I'm older (well, yeah, that too), mostly because I wanted to be home by this year's birthday. I know I've said this before, but it's constantly on my mind.

Has anyone ever had problems with their fillings? I got 2 on the top right 2 months ago, and 2 on the top left 1 month ago, and they keep bothering me on and off. I went back to the dentist for the first 2 because they hurt BAD, and that went away, but all 4 are still irritating me... dull pains, but enough to be inconvenient.

Today is my brother's 20th birthday. It makes me feel so old... my baby brother is no longer a teenager. I've seen him as an adult since he was 17 because we became best friends when I moved, but now it really hit me. That and that I wasn't able to be there for his birthday. When we didn't get to move home by summer, I really wanted to make it home by today, at the very latest. I've missed too many of his birthdays.

Anyway, I was amazed that I was able to think of a present for him. He's the kind of person that buys what he wants leaving no options for gift givers, so I thought it would take me until Christmas before I thought of a birthday gift. Well, Andrew and I were watching Hot Fuzz Friday night, and about halfway through the movie, I had an epiphany. Perfect gift for Kenny! So I got on amazon.com and ordered him a copy of the movie to be delivered today (which, because of the holiday weekend, was one-day delivery). What's funny, and proves that I know my brother better than anyone, is that he was in the video store looking at Hot Fuzz last night about to rent it, but didn't.

So with his birthday almost over, it brings my birthday that much closer. October 3rd. Another one stuck out here... This will be the 5th birthday that I've had to open presents from my family while on the phone with them instead of sitting next to them. I moved here a little over 2 months before my 19th birthday, and this will be my 24th. Bah humbug. Oh yes, and our one year wedding anniversary is coming up... October 15th. The top of our wedding cake is frozen in my grandma's freezer... back in CT. We both thought we would be back by then :worry:

We're dealing with a lot of stress lately, thanks to the car accident. The insurance sent the payment for the car, but, since we only had it 3 weeks before it was totaled, the payment did not cover everything owed. We are trying to finish our claim with the gap insurance, which is requiring crazy amounts of paperwork. Injury wise, we are doing better. Dealing with the gap insurance, our car insurance, the other guy's car insurance, the lawyer, doctors, and everything else is really stressful.

As far as art goes... I've had numerous ideas lately. Maybe too many. I'll start looking for stock to complete one idea when I find stock that inspires another idea. I haven't had a chance to complete one piece without the idea for another coming up and getting me sidetracked. I'm just hoping that I can make even one of these ideas happen! We'll see...

After awhile of that, my husband ended up needing his wisdom teeth removed and then a root canal. Then we traded in our car for 2 new ones so I would have a car, and I started looking for a job. Two days ago, we got into a pretty serious accident in my husband's new car.
