On November 5th, I had to say goodbye to one of my beloved ferrets again...

Nora, my albino, developed a mass of fluid in her lung and it was causing pressure on her heart. The vet hospitalized her, gave her meds and antibiotics to try and change her condition. Several hours later, the drugs had had no effect and she was still getting worse. We came in later that evening to see what the doctor wanted to do since they didn't have over night care. Nora was practically in a coma and the vet seriously didn't think she would last the night, much less till Monday when test results would have returned on the mass for surgery. With tears, we made the decision to ease her suffering.

I hate saying goodbye to my ferrets...it breaks my heart and shatters my soul. And that pain only grows when I have to watch Harle, Nora's playmate and sister, nose through covers and search through corners in hopes of finding her sister who has vanished to her...

Though I'm not ready to even try and fill the empty void yet, I feel we must get another ferret for Harle's sake and sanity.

Any who, I've noticed that I haven't mentioned anything about my total ferret addiction here on DA. It all started a little more than a year ago when my husband's brother was getting rid of his year old ferret, Mr. J. I remembered a conversation I had with my hubby about desired future pets and that a ferret was on his list at the top, so I suggested that we adopt him. When we got him home, I had no idea at that point how deep this little creature could dig his way into my heart. I've never given the kind of love and affection that I gave to him to any other pet I've owned, not even my favored cats. There's something about a ferret that if you don't watch your guard, they'll pull you in so close that you'll never be able to live without a ferret again. And that is where I'm at, completely smitten and devoted to the "carpet shark" way of life. Mr. J was a complete joy to have. He required alot of attention and care, but tried my best to give him the life he deserved. Needless to say, the first week we had him I began to do a bit of research on how to take care of one of these little critters. Like many unexperienced people, I figured a ferret was like a rodent or such and was taken care of like a hamster, guinea pig, or even a rabbit. I was actually very shocked that the little guy survived a year in the conditions he was already use to. With the knowledge I acquired from the net, Mr. J's life was given a complete 180 in a proper direction. I'm sure he felt he was living the high life when I was done with all of the alterations to his lifestyle, lol.
Life was wonderful and exciting having him in our home. But I just felt that I was never doing enough for him. I read that ferrets almost always like to have companions/cagemates so I suggested we get another one to accompany him in his cage. At the beginning of January of this year, we went out and purchased a 3-month-old female. She was so energetic and spunky, I was sure she would keep J on his toes. Sadly, he didn't take to her very well and refused to acknowledge her. I was crushed to say the least, and over come with depression when I noticed his health started going down hill. After several trips to the vet, I was met with horror that Mr. J had cancer. It was just a horrible coincidence that when I brought the female home that he was hitting the worst of his condition, making me think that I was the cause of his illness. When he could no longer walk, I made the choice to have him aided to sleep. That day, Jan. 24th 2008, (Shortly after his 2nd birthday on the 22nd) was quiet possibly the worst I've felt in a long time. Ferrets are really good at being thieves, and the one thing they steal the most and never let go of is your heart; he'll be forever missed and loved.
So here I am, months later and taking care of the little female I had bought to be J's cagemate, named Harle "Quinn", and an adopted female albino we call Nora "Freeze." An amazing story about Nora: the day Mr. J's suffering was lifted, we were given a call no more than 10 minutes after we had buried him at our friend's property. It was a woman from the base telling us that she heard that we had a ferret and she had an albino ferret she couldn't keep and wanted to see if we wanted her. I was pretty much in shock at the pure timing of the call, but was willing to take the opportunity to meet her and see how well her and Harle got along. To my relief, Nora and Harle hit it off very quickly. They have been best buddies ever since then.
As a ferret owner, I would like to say to all of those that seek to be the future parents to a "fur kid" I insist that you do VERY through research on them before you make a commitment to caring for one, or two...or three, lol (The logic of ferret math generally means: 1+1=5).

So anywho, in other news: My husband and I are being moved to Japan in October! I'm really excited and freaking spastic about going, not to mention scared and anxious. I love the fact that for 4 years I get to stay in a country that I've ALWAYS wanted to go to, but all the preparations to get squared away and the heart break from my family is tough to handle. But, I'm sure once we've gotten things smoothed out and actually get some of our family to visit, things will just be peachy <3

Well, I'm going to end this journal with a hope to get some more art posted and open commissions once those other projects are finished. Later!

My birthday is closing in, August 30th. I'll be an amazing 24 years of age and for some reason, I'm no where near excited about it. Maybe it's the idea of getting older that dampens my joy? I don't know honestly.

But I will say that with the age has come some amazing experiences so far.
I've grown and refined my art talent, I've met a lot of interesting people, I've done alot of fun things, and I wouldn't trade them in for anything.

So here's to another year of experiences to fill my life with.

Since the summer is here, I've been thinking about opening myself up for some commissions to try and get some income started.

With that said, how many of you would seriously be interested if the price was right?

Anywho, I just wanted to update this journal with a little bit of what's been going on and to let you guys know why their hasn't been much art in the past few months.

Back in December, I had an odd issue come up and this is the jest of what I was going through (Copied form a conversation I had with a friend on Gaia Online):

... I know :'3 It was so scary too...I got up to use the rest room, and as I was walking down the hall, I started blanking out. So I stumbled into the living room, breathing spraticly. I actually ended up falling on Peter (We've been sleeping in the living room lately on own futon couch because the bed matress has been hurting our backs) and waking him up at 2:00 in the morning, slipping into the floor in a heap, breathing heavily the whole time and losing my conscienciness.

I went to the doctor about it last Friday and they put me on Zoloft (for the panic attacks) and Prilosec (for the chest and stomach pain I had been having).

Well, that attack happened again Sunday night/Monday morning after I started taking my meds, only it was worse on the pain and I felt like I was going to vomit. I keep flopping on the floor to get into a position to make my stomach stop hurting and I was hyperventalating. On top of that my body went super cold and I started to black out. Peter kept trying to make me breath slower and it eventually passed. I told him that if it happens again that day, I wanted to go to the ER. I ended up falling asleep and Peter told me we were going to the doctor to tell them what happened and get the blood work that my doctor wanted from the last visit done. My stomach was still in knots yesterday morning. I went in, got my blood drawn, and thats always a feat since I pass out everytime I needle sticks me and I was stuck 3 times, lol...

But afterwards we went to the front desk to talk to my doctor. Peter sat me down in the lobby chair and went to the desk, which was only about 3 feet away from me. And then I felt the attack coming on again. I whispered for Peter to come over and told him, "it's happening again.." and it started all over again. I was freaking out the other people in the lobby with my flopping and then I felt the vomit feeling again and it actually happened that time. I could hear Peter telling the lady at the desk to "get a doctor, now!" I was just sitting there, holding my mouth and trying to not get it on the carpet till they put a trash can in front of me. And I just sat there letting go till they wheeled in a wheel chair, and took me to my doctor's room.

She's now put me on Zantac instead of the Prilosec, Phenergan, and a GI Cocktail. She's pretty sure it's acid reflux and has we going to a stomach specialist to check me out.

As it's come down to what could be causing this, I'll be finding that out on the 13th of February when I get a scope down my thoat to have a look at my upper GI tract. It's funny that with all the appointments I've had about this, nothing has been found out. But thats probably because it's all stomach related anyway. So yay, lets just hope it's all in my head from built up stress and the meds I'm on are the solution to better health <3

Peter and I have been living a most beautiful life together. We've had our many ups and our few downs, but thats marriage. We've cried, we've laughed, and we're more united as one than just 1 year ago.

As I sit here and reflect over our 1st year together, I can't help but consider the 6 years we had dated before hand. This 1st year really only feels like the 7th in my eyes, and I know that I love this man more than ever today. With time, comes experiance, with experiance comes knowledge, and with knowledge you become one step closer to learning more than you did before hand and knowing how to handle things or how to snuggle properly in the bed without kneeing the man accidently in the groin X'D (Inside joke :'D ).

I truly believe that if I had to make the choices I had to in the past again to get where I am today, I would do them just the same as I had done them.

I may have lost some things in the process, but it was worth it to gain what I did.

Wow, 2005 has been one really amazing, depressing, and fucked up year all in one.

For the first time, I spent Christmas away from my family and friends in TN. Me and my husband, along with his parents, went to Oklahoma to stay with his brother and his wife and kids. It was different, and a crap load of allergies unkown to my system, put it into a shock, making me pretty sick, as well as my husband. But we still enjoyed our Christmas. After this event, I know just how much his family cares about me, and I wouldn't trade that for the world.

I've had some wonderful things happen, like getting married to the man I love and cherish, and gaining awesome family members from it. I've moved from my home in Tennessee, but it's been an adventure all the same. I'm still awesome friends with my buddies in TN, (excluding one in particular who wishes the friendship we had to be over, but thats water under the bridge now..) and I've even regained a wonderful friend from High School (*Glomps Seza!!* Hee hee ^___^).

I've also had some down falls, including the death of my 14-year-old cousin, Trinity (...may her soul rest in peace...) and my Step-mum getting cancer... Donna's been getting better, but she's fairly weak from all the kimo...Both my mother and my father lost their vehicles to wreaks this year, but surprisingly they were not in them at the time of the wreaks, it was by someone else in the family (Neither were hurt thankfully).

I've had ups and downs, but I've still managed to pull through it all. I'm so thankful and blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life, (off and on the internet included ^_~) and a life that I am happy to be living.

I'm loved by my family and my true friends, and would live this crazy year over and over again if it meant being this happy, forever. But time will always change and people will come and go, and my home will change again and again, but thats what life is about, and I'm glad to be living it, with all the bad, and all the good just the same.

Anywho, the next auction I hold on Gaia will be a doozy. I'm going to make a "Special Auto Buy" option. This basicly means the person that does this, will have the ACTUAL piece mailed to them. It will be done in prisma color pencil and placed on Vellum Bristol board. And get this...it won't even cost real money (Except if the buyer lives in a far away place, then some shipping might need to be helped with) @_@;; Crazy you say? Nah, I'm just addicted to that site. It's like cocaine or something...you know...illegal. I think they hide messages throughout the site that make you stay XD;;

Anywho, enough of my babble. You should be seeing some more WIP, and finished commissions, again from Gaia. I swear I need to do something for myself @_@;

_{Ok! Here's a recap of my wonderful time at AWA ^.^

Cosplay: I didn't have a really nice character cosplay outfit, I just had a standard gothic kimono and cat ears/tail this year. Since I moved from my mother's home back in July, I didn't get the chance to have a costume made by her. She's always done my costumes for me because I suck at sewing XD;;

The Celeberties: Had a wonderful chat with Vic Mignogna (American Voice Actor of Edward from Fullmetal Alchemist) and Fred Perry (Comic artist and writer of Gold Digger). I even gave Vic one of my Ed pins I had gotten in the dealers' room because he spazzed over how he didn't have that one. And I got TWO pieces of orginal art from Fred! ( Which will be listed below with a pic of my autographed Peebo manga ) He's my favorite American-anime artist ya' know ^.^! Also, I got to see Vic's live-action special, Fullmetal Fantasy, where he actually cosplays as Ed and several others from the show cosplay as their characters on the show. It was so funny! Vic was also the one that filmed, directed, and wrote it! That man has a LOT of talent.

The Anime: Wow...I got to see most of Final Fantasy: Advent Children, and might I say....damn. It was so beautiful! The graphics, the story, the characters....all so fantastic! It's certainly "MUST-OWN" on my list.

I had an AWESOME time this year! Probably one of my best years to date actually. So wonderful....I can't WAIT for next year now!

Geezus! AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta) has certainly snuck up on me!
Next weekend I'll be heading to Atlanta with teh hubbie and teh roommate to the anime convention I attend ever year, meeting up with my buddies from TN. I don't have an outstanding costume this year, but I'll make the best of it XD. This will certainly be a very different year for me. With events that have happened this year, there's no doubt in that. But we all move on, etc, etc.

I'm sadened to know that the "Dance Beat Arcade" won't be there this year, seeing as how the owner kinda sold off his machines and such due to lack of funds to keep the place running ;-; But perhaps there will be a new arcade group there to take it's place. I dunno, I never check the AWA webpage much XD;

Anywho! All of you Deviants going to AWA.............ROCK ON!
I hope to see some of you guys at the artist alley ^.^!!

Anywho, I'm going to go now and work on some stuff before the weekend comes >.>;;

I've been such a slacker lately. I think it's because I'm stressed out over work and getting ready to move and get married. Artwork becomes a major hassle when contending with these aspects of my life @.@;;; I hope to have a piece done soon, but who knows anymore -.-;

*Sob* I had a fantastic Thanksgiving with my bebe. He came to visit for about a week and all that good jazz. He's such a sweetie, I love him so dearly and wish I could spend so much more time with him. *Sigh* He purchased my ring while he was here *Giggle* I get to pick that up Dec. 8th and I just can't wait. Soon I'll be able to spend the rest of my life with him. Boy I'm in a good mood. Geezus...Can life get so crappy?! I'll tell ya.

Last weekend, I noticed I had a very painful bladder infection, so I made an appointment to see my doc the first chance I got. So I go and they give me some antibioctics to get rid of it. So I start taking them. I soon noticed that I seemed to be getting sick from something, felt just like the flu. By Friday I felt that a 3000 ton truck slammed me into a wall and dropped me into a soup of Hell and Arctic weather spun together. I hit an all time high fever of 103.7 on Saturday and felt like I was about to lose my grip on life and slip into a dark abyss of misery. Then on Sunday night I layed awake all night in some sort of pain that I could not ease. When the morning sun shined into the room I knew I hadn't slept a wink. Around 8:00 that morning I noticed that my nose and throat was coated in nasty crap and I couldn't breath and also my legs were covered in red blots of red skin. Turned out I was having an allegic reaction to the stupid sulfer in the antibioctics for my bladder infection. Now, I'm free of the fever and sick feeling, just suffering from what feels like itchy, steel wool, poodles all over my skin from the allegic reaction.

Yay.

I never understood the term "...or bust" for people taking trips. Hmm.

Anywho, this weekend in Atlanta is the one anime convenstion that I go, Anime Weekend Atlnata. I'm pretty excited about going this year (well, more so than usual really). My Luna Inverse costume is just about finished, the only thing left is the hat. I won't have aa artist alley table this year for numerous reasons. One of the reasons is that I don't really enjoy sitting at a table during a convenstion. I like to be up and about, not stationary looking over merchandise. But thats just me.

But anywho, I'm going to try and finish the Aciel image before I go to AWA, but it might not happen. *Shrugs* We'll see!

I'll be putting this into the AWA art contest this year, so yay! I'm still debating on wheather or not I'll sell it.

*IF* I do, it'll cost at least $110. It's a fairly large piece, bigger than what I'm use to. It was done in primarily color pencil, a little bit of copic marker, and slight touchs of acrylic. So there's the reason for why it would be so pricey to buy}

Let me first start this out by saying thank you to all that entered my contest. I was very impressed with all of the entries and love every one of them. But since this is a contest, the prize can only go to one person. I sat here for several hours really, trying to pick the one that was better than the others. It was a hard task! All were so creative and stunning. But I boiled it down to 3 and then selected the winner.

His hatching technique on Lanard was something I'd never seen before on an anime style piece. Congrats bud!

Getting Started

The contest will consist of the contestants drawing one of my characters that are listed below:

Prisma -

The object of this contest is to be creative! I want to see my characters doing cool things (fight scenes are cool!) or naughty things (i.e. Lanard and Neko Prisma in a bondage scene

). For example (which this one could be used) Prisma doing a magical girl transformation or attack. Have fun with this and be creative!

All Entries must be turned in by May 25th

Submissions

To submit the artwork to me, you MUST send a note with the link inclosed. That is the ONLY way I will take it, no acceptions. Once I have the link, I'll post it. Easy and simple!

Winner

The most orignal piece wins!

Winner will receive a picture drawn by me and will get the lineart sent to them via snail mail so that they may have and hold it for eternity. I will not color this piece in color pencils for that is a talent I rarely let go for free. But I will CG it if the winner wishes it so.
